Jung Hae In and Jung So Min's "Love Next Door" Premieres with Promising Ratings

tvN's much-anticipated weekend drama Love Next Door started its run, scoring 4.89% (nationwide) and 5.85% (metropolitan), and also emerged as the most-watched in its time slot. 

Love Next Door tells the story of Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), who left her job at a renowned corporation in the US and returned to Korea to reboot her life. She encounters her mom's friend's son, Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In), a prominent architect, in her town. The duo, being childhood friends, know each other's embarrassing pasts. The K-drama also stars Kim Ji Eun and  Yun Ji On in lead roles.

TV Chosun's DNA Lover also premiered on August 17. The rom-com commenced with a nationwide rating of 1.13%. 

DNA Lover follows genetic researcher Han So Jin (Jung In Sun), who strives to find her match through genetics. The K-drama also stars Choi Si Won, Lee Tae Hwan, and Jung Eugene in the lead roles.

JTBC's Romance in the House dropped to its lowest ratings of 3.90% (nationwide) and 3.96% (metropolitan) for episode 3. Nevertheless, the K-drama has made its debut on Netflix's Global Top 10 list (non-English) ranking sixth from August 5-11. Romance in the House is trending predominantly in Latin American countries.

MBN's Bad-Memory Eraser dropped to its lowest nationwide rating of 0.73% for episode 5. The K-drama commenced scoring 1.04% and reached 1.66% for episode 3. Bad-Memory Eraser faces tough competition from other currently airing K-dramas as it airs on a not-so-prominent pay TV network (MBN) and at 9:40 p.m. KST, close to the time slots of tvN's Love Next Door (9:20 p.m.), SBS's Good Partner (10 p.m.), MBC's Black Out (9:50 p.m.), and TV Chosun's DNA Lover (9:10 p.m.).

MBC's mystery thriller Black Out dropped to 2.7% for episode 2. close to its premiere rating of 2.8%. 

Black Out tells the story of a young man, Go Jung Woo, who was branded as a culprit in a murder case despite the corpses never being found. After serving ten years in prison, he now seeks to uncover the truth of the case that turned his life upside down. The K-drama stars Byun Yo Han, Go Jun, Go Bo Gyeol, and Kim Bo Ra in lead roles.
