The tvN X TVING original drama The Queen Who Crowns is releasing on January 6.
The Queen Who Crowns tells the story of Queen Won Kyung, who dreamed of a new world and seized power alongside her husband, King Tae Jong (Lee Hyun Wook). The story of this couple, also political partners, is reimagined and interpreted from the perspective of Won Kyung.
The K-drama is rated 19+ for viewing on Korean OTT TVING, and 15+ on the nationwide pay television network tvN, with the tvN version edited for TV viewers.
Cha Joo Young takes on the role of Queen Won Kyung. Described as "a woman who dreamed of a new world," she has finally realized her dream by seeing her husband ascend to the throne. The series also marks the actress's debut in the historical genre.
After becoming queen, Won Kyung will face turbulent changes. Discovering that her husband King Tae Jong dreams of a different world than her own, Won Kyung's story as his political partner, the queen of Joseon, and above all, his wife, promises to unfold with dramatic twists and turns.
