Both dramas deal with people who can see ghosts and who are initially bothered by their gifts. Both stories deals with a human who falls in love with a ghost with a turbulent past.

Both main role can see ghost and the main role himself has his own history to stay alive

Both dramas deal with trying to make ghosts' wishes come true in order for them to move on to the afterlife.

Both stories have a main character who's able to see ghosts who often put him/her in awkward or humorous situations.

The most comparable: A comedy story about a teenage girl who runs into mysterious happenings through her communicating with ghosts. Asuka suddenly develops her supernatural ability after her traffic accident. While trying to help make ghosts' wishes come true, she falls in love with a mysterious guy named Kaito who turns out to be an incarnate ghost.

I think Ghost Friends is a nice show version.

Both dramas are good comedy dramas spiced up with some ghosts mixed in. Both are definitely worth watching ~

It's about a main character who sees spirits/ghosts and they help others. Ghost friends is more light-hearted than xxxHolic.

it's not excatly the same plot but in both series the female lead is able to see ghosts.
if you liked Ghost friends I highly recommend watching the master's sun
