This shouldn't be funny and yet it is??
I'll be completely honesty, I dismissed this drama on its release as the synapsis just did not appeal to me. I then proceeded to bypass it whenever it came up on my recommended list.I only decided to give it a try after being caught up on all the other drama's I had been watching, as you can imagine my expectations were low....
Oh what a fool I am! This is such a great watch!! Yet, the most ridiculous thing is that this shouldn't really work.
Its a comedy about mental health, trauma, physical violence, online violence and prejudice - and yes it is a comedy and a good one at that.
This drama finds a way to deal with some very heavy subjects with both realism and humour.
This is a story of two people fighting desperately against their inner demons and trying to find away back to their normal lives.
Oh Yeon Seo and Jung Woo deserve enormous credit for their performances. They managed to convey the depth of their individual traumas and yet inject humour in to so many of there scenes. There chemistry is excellent and as we see the nature of their relationship change and this is also reflected in their chemistry. The one thing that remains consistent is the humour throughout.
The supporting cast provide the segues that allow for the story to develop and whilst we have the necessary villains there screentime is limited. The most valuable supporting cast member is actually Oh Yeon Seo dog! In so many of the interactions or developing storylines the dog is at the centre.
This is a story about two damaged people finding themselves and each other, and in the end I'm so glad I found this story

A Surprisingly Fantastic Drama
I came along this drama by accident just looking for my next drama after I had finished Summer Strike, not expecting much after I had just watched such a perfect drama I was instantly drawn into this drama with the special dynamic the two lead characters had. This drama did a fantastic job in showing the development of Min Kyung and Hwi Oh's relationship and how they both navigated their two own personal problems. However there are some odd spots here and there that really hinder the overall main story and in the very final episode it turns everything it to a sort of rollercoaster of events which does cause some sort of whiplash. The drama shows why sometimes short and sweet is the best way to go, it is an absolutely easy watch and it doesn't waste the viewers time with throwing in random nonsensical plots that drag out the story longer than it should. The casting of the show was perfect, Oh Yeon Seo and Jung Woo were perfect together as the leads and the entire supporting cast from everyone involved in the apartment to the part timer. It's just one of those dramas were the cast perfectly clicks.

I love you (and your imperfections)
the perfect way to describe the main couple in this drama is "imperfectly perfect". Both of them obviously got their own issues, trauma, scars, and demon, but these r what eventually make them stronger and being able to explore themselves to be way better. it's a development type of characters and relationship and it is done in a probably realistic but for sure, entertainingly.i also love other warm relationships in this drama such as akmu suhyun and Samantha, and the relationship with the women's association. they were very sincere but realistic, so i love it. I've said this before but i like how this drama portrayed these relationships involving these characters which were not perfect and angelic in any way. they were just normal people, with some nice characteristics, but still have their own flaws. like people.
but ofc, the main attraction of this drama is the main couple, and how i enjoyed their development. they are such good friends, and supporters with e/o. i love it.
also, both the leads were great in their respective roles, but i gotta give special mention to Jung woo's acting. HE IS SUCH A GOOD WONDERFUL FANTASTIC ACTOR. his every little emotions and reactions were serving, and he did a great job as the ml. love it. i just love his acting. so natural!
also, suhyun? yeah, babe your voice is daaa best!!
btw this is a slowburn, and while i enjoyed their developments, i def cannot finish this in one seating as it is not a drama where i can binge it. it's not a dramatic drama, so i really took my time to finish this, peacefully. also, a good eating companion!
ok that's it!

You're Crazy
This is a spoiler review for "Mad for Each Other", a story of struggle, love, and growth. I hope you find it helpful.Story(7.5): I have mainly good, but slightly mixed feelings about the story of this show. For a positives, this show is very addicting from the jump. Its easy to binge and fall in love with, mainly because of the charisma and character that Oh Yeon Seo and Jung Woo bring to the screen. One of my favorite things about this show is its a great tale of misfits. Whether its the main characters mental health problems, being unemployed, or having poor social reputations; there's a lot to disgrace them with on paper, but when you watch, its just so easy to fall in love with them and their flaws. Its truly heart warming when Hwi Oh and Min Kyung recognize that the world is against them, but they still have each other, brings Romeo and Juliet vibes when I think about it. I also really enjoyed that its not love at first sight, both these characters have major flaws, the writers make that abundantly clear. They are constantly annoyed by each other and complain about each others existence, its honestly pretty funny in a kind of morbid way. But its this starting point that both makes the plot more captivating, as well as expanding the scope of how these two grow together.
Now for some of the cons. In my opinion its beautiful to have two broken characters grow through each other, but I felt there could have been more nuances to how these two puzzle pieces fit together, aside from them both calling each other crazy lol. This story also has great side characters like Sang Yeop and Soo Hyun, but after about 70% through they are completely taken away from the main plot and characters, only being used as devices to break tension from the main story which wasn't harmful to the show, but I felt the series could have been even better if they were integrated throughout. But my biggest issue with the story of this show is the police/drug storyline. This story line is constantly used and referenced as a means of controlling the main narrative, but it ends in quite the anticlimactic fashion, making it feel unimportant and flat in the end. So mainly this story has an issue of using elements to push the plot forward, and then disregarding them when its convenient without giving them the due diligence. There were also a couple small things that rubbed me the wrong way in the last two episodes, but nothing big enough to mention. Overall a good story with a few flaws in the ladder portion keeping it from being a truly great tale.
Acting/Cast(9): Like I mentioned before Oh Yeon Seo and Jung Woo are fantastic actors and made an amazing duo to really carry our hearts and the story. I think my only real issue in this department was some of the characters in the women's association. I felt that Baek Ji Won performed great, but there were some moments where I was not buying the performance of the other two characters.
Music(8): Music did not play a huge part in this show, but when it was, it was used at perfect moments. personally "The moment I met you" and "Happy Anding" were used the best and really lift the moments perfectly.
Rewatch value(8): I felt this show was intoxicating from the start and that compounded with the shorter episodes in comparison to the average K-dramas, I think this is an extremely easy watch.
Conclusion(8):Overall This was a fantastic show. From the beginning it carries you off better than most shows do , It only had a few issues in concluding the story that kept it from being perfect, like many K-dramas do. In addition the acting leads are some of the best, making it definitely one to remember. I just wish we got more episodes in the end, I think that could have cleared up many of the issues that arise towards the end of the series as well.
If you have any thoughts don't be afraid to comment :)
Thank you for reading my review, I hope you found it helpful!

Short, Sweet and thought provoking
It seems like it's been marketed as a madcap comedy, and it's funny enough, but that's not what made me rate it so highly. Two supporting characters are unique, and i thoroughly enjoyed their development. The emotional maturation of the characters comprehensively won me over, it was a joy to see the progress play out over such a relatively short season. Big thumbs up to the ML. He had a lot of range to cover and was as funny as he was charming—some great relationship advice for anyone stuck in their own head.
On my short list of recommendations to people new to kdramas.

Don't be fooled :)
Don't be fooled and think you're gonna watch just a funny drama, this drama goes beyond funny, it goes beyond superficiality, it goes beyond your expectations! As you start watching this drama you will think it's hilarious, it's funny and the leads are crazy.. Slowly you'll understand that it's all the way around. You'll think how can they not go crazy when the world is like this? Are they crazy? Or is the world that sometime ends to fail you in horrible times?Mentall illness or social diseases are always difficults theme to bring up, this drama introducts them in a funny way, it's easier to catch attention that way, but then it hits you hard with reality. I think it was a good approach even if some are against because it could seems they're joking about it, but in my opinion, maybe also because of my preferences, I liked it, the line between laughing and crying it's really thin here. It's like they let you get comfortable, they catch your attention and then they let you discover a world that was hidden behind their "madness".
While I watched this show I thought it was crazy not being "crazy" like them, at the beginning I laughed hard with them, then my laughs became bitter, because I understood. Well lots of times they were just funny, it's a deep drama with lots of meaningfulness, but it's also a comedy one. I thought it was going to be one of those drama you casually watch, but it keeps staying in my mind.
The leads are beyond acting :)

This one surprised me :)
While watching excessive rom-com dramas I want to watch fresh drama that only ( majority ) humour/laughing in this way i found Mad for each other. This my first drama of lead actors, but impressed by their natural performance.Quick Roundup on plot :-
He is a crazy police officer who can't control his anger.
Due to a particular case, his life changed and he started to have anger control disorder due to the aftereffects.
She had everything in the past but because of a tragic incident, she lost faith in people. She has closed the door to her heart and unintentionally causes anger around her. What happens if these two people encounter each other ?
Mad For Each Other is a short drama that presents the art of humour storytelling through characters, with small stories building into a main one. The story is an interesting and enjoyable start from two completely different personalities people encountered each other, the show begins on an exciting and humorous attention with the main characters meeting up and connecting to each other at the same time hating each other.
Yep, it looks like a simple story but dealing with the inner effects of human beings from their taruma with different persons perspectives and It represented modern issues such as diversity, mental health, drugs, and dating violence this drama impressed me.
By showing the simple story in front-side, the writer showed his/her remarkable writing with a well structured plot, Like the drama explores insightful realizations related to one's mental health and how the long-term impacts of trauma reflect itself. You must find someone that you can rely on, the first half of the show, it was mostly these two main leads hating each other but being forced to be around each other. Until slowly they begin to trust each other while unknowingly healing each other of their problems.
Simple soundtrack, nice Cinematography made every scene fresh to connect the drama and its characters. Well developed side characters and good characterizations. And excellent performance from two main leads.
Overall i enjoyed the drama but in some episodes I got bored, but with their humour and fresh plot keeps you watching the entire drama.
If you're looking for a mature humours rom drama then this one is for you :).

Comically Serious!
I have one word for this drama, EPIC! This short but emotion and action packed drama has probably one of the most unique story lines I have come across in a while in a Kdrama. From scenes that drive you mad with anger and frustration to absolute tear jerkers, every episode I watched kept me excited, curious, expectant and wanting more. From the main characters to the side characters, every one played such an important role in this drama and it was so full of comedy even while dealing with serious situations. The main characters fit their roles extremely well and you could tell how passionate they were from their acting skills in this drama. Chemistry was stunning. The actress was able to pull off a cute, beautiful, ugly, sexy. to drop dead gorgeous looks all in the same drama. Absolutely deserving of a Netflix original. 10/10. Must watchCet avis était-il utile?

Perhaps the 2nd best K-drama of 2021.
[ Original date written: June 21st 2021 ]I was very much looking forward to this and had actually been impatiently awaiting it's premiere ever since the cast was announced. The first couple of episodes I did enjoy but as it progressed I found myself loving it more and more.
Oh Yeon Seo is my favourite actress and she did not let me down with this drama comeback of hers. Her performance (as always) was incredible. She brought so much power and emotion to the character of Lee Min Kyung, in a way I think no other actress could.
I loved Jung Woo in Reply 1994 so I was interested in seeing him paired up with my girl and I have to say they exceeded my expectations. At first I wasn't sure how romance would be tied in as the beginning episodes mostly contained hysterical arguments between the two with no suggestion of anything else, but by episode 5 their beautiful development began and not only was their chemistry evident AND outstanding but their story itself was pure warmth for the heart. It’s a perfect romcom, but it also manages to bring characters with tragic pasts together with a healing outcome.

Delightfully funny!
If you are looking for a light easy watch that will make you laugh, I would suggest giving this short romcom a shot. It did take me about 2 episodes to get into it, but once I did, I swear I was grinning every episode in anticipation of what wacky antics Yeon Seo would show and the funny reactions Jung Woo would display in response.IMO, I think Jung Woo stole the show here. He made me crack up so much! His expressions are priceless! Like you can just tell what he's thinking inside. lol. I just loved the way he played his character. He brought such heart along with the laughs. Yeon Seo did a good job at keeping up at the same energy, but I do think her character suffered more from poor writing/development than Jung Woo's character. There were a few moments that I thought her actions were out of character and didn't match the emotional state of the character, but I didn't mind it that much because the chemistry was just so fun and cute!
The script does suffer from some weak writing esp at the end, but overall, I still really enjoyed this light off kilter romcom! I think this is a good example of how much an amazing cast can bring such life into a somewhat mediocre script.
