I wish there was more affection scenes btw the main leads, and regarding to the story it was a week story nothing special. the only reason that I kept watching it just b/c the cuteness of the main leads, and the quality of filming, I highly recommend you not to watch this unless you can bear everything for the sake of the cuteness of the main leads!!!!
but in general it was not a bad one

a realistic AND unrealistic drama that went from 2.5 to 7.0 for me

I didn’t know this drama existed until 3-4 days ago. My friends in the group chat were talking badly about it, so I decided to give it a chance and started watching the first episode. I’d already formed a negative impression based on what my friends said, so I dropped it halfway through episode 2 and gave it a 2.5 rating. Then, just a few minutes later, I decided to give it another shot, and now I’m sad it’s over. It’s cute and not very extraordinary, but it’s calm compared to other emotional (EHH!!?? and screams) dramas. I’m obsessed with the visuals of Yoji’s character and the chemistry between them. There were times when I had to pause the drama to calm down from secondhand embarrassment though. My final rating is 7.0, and I’m so happy that there will be a special episode!

JUST MAKE SURE that you dont have high expectations.

Why realistic:
One likes another one
He goes after him (??? questionable)
He confesses
They date (I mean it, like they ACTUALLY go on dates)
They take it slow
All of these dating parts imo are realistic

Why unrealistic:
Taishin

It could almost have been good

Just jumping right in, both actors were good; they were good at looking like they were in love... they just didn't look like they were in love with each other. I guess we could call that a lack of chemistry, but I associate that with having poorly portrayed a role which is not the case there, just felt... like they could have easily been acting to have been in love with a tree across the way, Takara. Again, his acting is good, it is just completely without regards to Tashin.
Also, the story would have been very good if it was better portrayed. If I wrote a summary of the story here, it would sound good! I just kept getting distracted by trying to sense any attraction between the two leads. Also, not to sound callous, but the whole mourning the bird? Yes, I was devastated when I lost my closest pet. I cried like Taishin did. But in a drama for general consumption? It is just cringeworthy. Tashin insisting over and over that Takara saved him when he was mourning the bird... I could just feel the awkwardness pouring off the actors. I could just feel Takara's actor being like, "I really have to act this scene out with a straight face?"
So, in conclusion, I could almost sense a good story if I ignored the actual presentation of the drama itself.

ActingSuperb

I do not understand why some commenters are rude in ranting about their acting.
In fairness to both of the actors, this is their first lead roles-were the story evolve to both characters.
Acting. They have given justice to their roles, considering both have probably first time to be in love to the same sex. Their explorations to their relationship is somehow refreshing. Understanding each other, knowing what they are into. Not much kissing-sexing-skin exposure-- as we often see in BL dramas. This is REAL first timers.😁❤️
Story. Probably there are some scenes that should be deleted or not to be included. But I still give AAA's to the writer and director.
Music. It's nakakaLSS. It's for you to find out.hahaha. But music scoring is great.
Goodluck to both of the actors!
I'm a Filipina and I love your BL drama!❤️❤️❤️

Amei o Bl

é tão singelo tão delicado é uma até características dele japonês que é a questão do desenvolvimento lento dos protagonistas, porém tem-sempre a questão de atuação roteiro cenografia. O que torna o drama mais interessante e bonito. tocante!

A Promising Start: Its Potential and Pitfalls

The series presents a heartwarming tale of friendship and personal growth. The series follows Taishin, a simple-minded student who develops feelings for Takara, a more complex and guarded individual. While the series showcases Taishin's character development effectively, Takara's character remains somewhat one-dimensional.

The pacing of the series can be uneven. With every episode we witness the character development of Taishin from being simple and easily swayed, to one with a bit of confidence through the support of Takara. Takara on the other hand, is a complex character. He fears his controlling nature thereby distancing himself from relationships albeit being the most popular student who learns to love someone through Taishin’s encouragement.

The series however, fails to capture the potential of Takara’s character. We keep hearing him complain about his ‘getting what he wants’ nature but never see that in action. Instead, we see Taishin stumbling daily around his feelings towards Takara. It gets old and tiresome pretty soon. The series would have benefited greatly in showing Takara manipulating Taishin to love him, only to grow through out the series and genuinely love Taishin. Also, the lack of chemistry between the lead characters is a notable drawback, hindering the emotional connection with the story.

In conclusion, despite these shortcomings, Takara no Vidro offers moments of tenderness and heartwarming interactions. Taishin's unwavering dedication and loyalty to Takara are admirable, and the series provides a glimpse into the challenges of navigating a complex relationship.

Cute but that’s all it has

We got another light and fluffy BL from Japan. I’ll never get tired of a soft-to-charismatic pairing as it has a potential they can explore to spice up their romance. In which, the drama showcases at least half of my expectations.

The innocent Taishin is undoubtedly a personification of the Japanese term, kawaii. Yet, at some point in the drama, I get bored. The lack of plot in the story created a bland flavor to the overall outcome. Takara is handsome but not enough to save the show and his character isn’t even that loveable.

Subjectively, the creepy old man stalker was the best climax of the show. I wanted him to be put behind bars. The next scenes after this were just mediocre. I’m not even interested in watching the sequel version from the end-credit scene. Takara no Vidro was another average stress-free BL show if you’re looking for a quick binge-watch.

A Good Drama Based on a Not so Good Manga!

Takara no Vidro is a little of a hit or miss drama simply because it's based on a really bad manga. The manga actually won a reward which is why it was made into a drama, but it shouldn't have been. The plot isn't the best and doesn't give the actors much to work with, but the actors did good for what they got. Also, the drama made so many positive changes to the manga's storyline, that while it's not the best drama out there I enjoyed it.

Also. before you start going on about how Taishin is like a stalker, read my review. It will make sense!

•❅✧❅✦ Review ✦❅✧❅•

Takara no Vidro is an interesting drama. While not the best drama out there, it’s a decent watch. At a glance, there is very little chemistry between Takara and Taishin, and it seems that Takara’s actor is stiff. But when you rewatch the drama and read the source material, you actually can see that it’s more of the characters and storyline that gives this drama problems. It’s not the actors at all!

Takara and Taishin's actors actually have really good chemistry together, but maybe it’s the naïve and slow, positive boy going after the quiet, stoic, handsome boy combination that makes the chemistry difficult to see. Taishin is very slow to react, while Takara doesn’t speak his mind at all. This makes it seem like their communication isn’t that good, or that Takara doesn’t actually care for Taishin. But when you take a closer look, you can see that Takara is always looking and reacting to Taishin. Watch Takara's body language and eyes very closely.

Similarly, because Takara is quiet, calm and cool, he doesn’t speak his mind or react to every comment. These stoic characters are difficult to portray, and Iwase, Takara’s actor, does it quite well. However, because Taishin is supposed to be slow and naïve, his character doesn’t pick up Takara’s cues often, leading the audience to think that Iwase is stiff or that they don’t have good chemistry together. But if you take a good look, Iwase’s acting is very natural and he is good at acting without speaking.

•❅✧❅✦ Manga vs Film ✦❅✧❅•

The manga was only 1 volume or around 7 chapters, and they tried to cram everything from Taishin’s background with Takara, to Takara’s backstory with his parents and grandfather. All of that backstory plus their romance! It was very rushed and not very good. It seemed like Taishin was stupid and obsessed with Takara, while Takara was just going along with the flow and dating Taishin because he was the first person that understood him. This kind of makes sense because the author’s original draft was about Taishin being Takara’s stalker and their relationship being toxic, but that was shut down by the editor and changed into a romance for the final draft, but everything felt weird and rushed.

The manga is something I would never read again. From the characters to the plot, it’s really bad. However, the drama improved the manga’s plot so much. Taishin was changed from being stupid and stalkerish to being naïve and well intentioned. Takara was given lots of time to expand on his backstory and was also given time to fall in love with Taishin.

In the drama, you can see Takara being very hesitant to fall in love with Taishin. However, you can also see how Taishin’s actions make Takara fall in love with him. You can also see how much Takara is also in love with Taishin. You couldn’t see any of that in the manga!

Because of all the extra time given and all of the extra scenes added, you can now actually see Takara and Taishin fall in love with each other. It’s not rushed, so there is no misunderstanding about why or how they fell in love. The romance in the manga was so rushed and toxic, but in the drama, you can see them actually fall in love.

•❅✧❅✦ Overall ✦❅✧❅•

Takara no Vidro is a nice drama. While it might not be the best drama in terms of its plot and originality, it is still a nice watch.

Takara and Taishin’s love might not be for everyone. And some might even find Taishin’s actions stalkerish, or Takara’s love as disingenuous. But if you watch their interactions closely, you’ll see that Taishi truly means well and loves Takara. He doesn’t push Takara when Takara sets boundaries and expresses discomfort. Similarly, while Takara doesn’t say much, he does use body language to express his love for Taishi. Takara’s eyes are always following Taishi and he’s always taking care of him. Takara also always gives Taishi the chance to make decisions for himself and pull away from their relationship, despite being jealous and wanting to stay by his side forever. Takara knows he’s being selfish by asking Taishi to follow him everywhere while he alone goes traveling and fulfills his own dreams. But that’s why Takra gives Taishi the space and opportunities to break off their relationship, even though he doesn’t want to.

If you think about it negatively and forget that Takara and Taishin are actually trying to think about each other first, they are toxic to each other. One’s stalkerish and the other is selfish and possessive. Their still perfect for each other in a toxic way too.

Overall, Takara no Vidro is a nice drama. Takara and Taishin are perfect for each other.

A cute sweet love story

I would say this drama is worth a watch! It’s just a cute sweet love story, although the plot threw me off a little. I was expecting Takara to be a bit meaner and colder at the beginning towards Taishin but actually I didn’t think he was… only a little. It’s a story between two people who are a little unsure and learning how to love each other. Taishin is definitely very innocent even at the end and I would also say Takara is slightly too, they are both learning how to love each other.

I also liked how there was no interruptions from any annoying characters, it was mainly focused on Takara and Taishin’s story, except from the creepy old man.

I actually would have preferred it if there was more episodes, maybe 12 or even 16. I felt like their relationship was beginning to develop but then it ended with 10 episodes. I saw there may be a spin off episode or two, so I’ll definitely be watching that!

A Story of Innocent Love & Longing

There’s something incredibly beautiful about finding the person who sees beyond the mask you wear to the needy heart beneath.

Adapted from the manga Takara no Vidro by Suzumaru Minta, the Japanese BL Takara’s Treasure tells the story of an innocent boy named Nakano Taishin (Konishi Eito), who follows a young man, Shiga Takara (Iwase Yoji), to university after Takara once helped him deal with the grief of losing his pet.

All while Taishin innocently and naively finds a way into Takara’s heart.

All in all, there is little action in the series outside of the emotional journey both of these characters take. They are a perfect balance of innocence and jadedness.

Eu amei!!
