Now ya'll know that ya'll are not 35!!!!

I truly liked this one.
It would have been a solid 10 had it not been for one major necessary trope that I'm SUPER tired of (especially when this trope fell on a grown arse adult!!! It came off immature and downright goofy).

Then there was the fact that we have older K-actors playing 35-year-olds. Like... just make the characters actually older to match their actors' old faces (they look EXCELLENT for their ages, it's just that I can tell) and this is me who is in my early 40's saying this. I love K-dramas that center on older actors as well. Pfft.

Outside of that, this was super sweet and cute.

Definitely watch it!!!!

What I like-
2024 brought me back to watching kdramas. This drama doesn't have a unique story; its plot is simple and easy to guess. However, the way the story developed kept me engaged. You sense the hatred from the beginning, but the reasons behind it remain a mystery until episode seven.
The younger cast was impressive. They could easily carry their own short series, especially the main leads. I disliked Ji Hye for her actions, but she eventually realized her mistakes and showed growth. That’s important to me. When Seok Ji won saved Yoon on the rooftop, he chose not to clear the misunderstandings even though he knew what she was going through. It's not fair to blame Ji Hye for everything.
The casting for the main leads was perfect. This is the first kdrama where I felt the older actors looked so much like the younger ones, in my opinion. The comedy hit the mark, and all the side characters had good stories too. The second lead was a sweetheart from the start and remained kind even after being rejected. The original soundtrack was really great.

What I don’t like-
The cast for Seok Ji Won’s Dad felt a bit too old. In some scenes, he looked as if he could be the same age as Yoon Ji Won’s grandfather.
The female lead's outfits during the pre-wedding shoot missed the mark. If they wanted a small-town vibe, there were better choices available.
I really wished the main leads would have a conversation about not abandoning each other. She was at Namsan, while he was right outside her house. A good 15-minute talk would have made me care about them more. If they had included that, I would rate this series a perfect 10.
Still, it's the best romantic comedy I've seen in a while.

An Emotional Journey Worth Watching

Love Your Enemy is a drama that left such a big impression on me, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since I finished it. It’s the kind of show that makes you feel so many emotions all at once sadness, anger, happiness, and even frustration. That’s why I gave it a 9 out of 10. It’s incredibly close to being perfect, but there are just a few things that held it back from getting a full score.

One of the biggest reasons this drama stood out to me was the acting. The cast did such an amazing job bringing their characters to life. Every performance felt so real, and you could see how much effort went into making the emotions authentic. The leads were phenomenal every interaction they had felt natural and powerful. You could feel their chemistry, whether they were arguing, laughing, or just sitting in silence. Even the supporting cast had moments where they shined, although I do wish some of them had been given more to work with.

Another thing I loved was the production quality. Visually, the show is stunning. The cinematography isn’t just beautiful it actually adds to the story. The way they used lighting to show mood or used colors to reflect the characters’ emotions was just so clever. It’s something you don’t always notice right away, but it definitely makes the scenes feel more impactful. And then there’s the music it was absolutely perfect. Every song felt like it was written just for the moment it played, and the background score never felt overdone or out of place. It made emotional scenes even more heart wrenching and intense moments even more exciting.

I rated it a 9 instead of an 8 because this drama clearly goes above and beyond what you’d expect from a typical show. It pulls you into its world and makes you feel connected to the characters and their struggles. There’s so much depth in the emotions and themes, and you can tell that a lot of thought went into every detail. It’s the kind of show that stays with you, not just because it’s entertaining, but because it makes you think.

But at the same time, I couldn’t give it a 10. There were a few moments where the plot felt a little predictable. While the main characters were developed really well, some of the side characters felt like they were just there to move the story along and didn’t get the attention they deserved. It’s not a huge flaw, but it’s enough to keep the drama from being completely flawless.

One scene that didn’t stand out for me was a secondary character’s emotional confession about a past mistake. While it was meant to be a key moment, it felt rushed and lacked the depth and emotional weight seen in the main storyline. The dialogue didn’t hit as hard, and the character’s motivations weren’t fully explored, making the scene feel forgettable. It’s a moment where more development could have made a big difference, and this is one reason why I gave the drama a 9 instead of a perfect 10.

Overall, Love Your Enemy is an unforgettable experience. It’s emotional, beautifully made, and filled with performances that draw you in completely. It’s not perfect, but it’s so close, and that’s why I feel it deserves a 9 out of 10. If you’re looking for a drama that’s intense, emotional, and incredibly well-made, this is one you absolutely need to watch.

Haters to lovers to haters to lovers done well

10/10.

I loved the ending.

I dislike the more usual rushed endings to some dramas where most of the last episode stuff is still happening and everything gets closed of the last ten minutes with a quick overview of where the characters are. Following the events of episode 11, I thought this would share a similar fate. But, the madness of the plot twist in episode 11 got wrapped up pretty quick **—** which I loved**—** and the rest of the episode was a slow wind down from the wedding prep to the second leads having their love fulfilled to the final scene were they finally met at the promised spot.

Dare I say, it was perfect.

My fave so far!

I love this drama-comedy. Good story. Makes me laugh. Hate waiting days between episodes. Ju Ji Hoon is spectacular. I’ve missed seeing him since Blood Free which I hope has a second season. The female lead has some comedic skills but she is not worthy of JJH; I have seen everything he has done. He has great range and I never get tired of him. More please!

Truly one of the best rom-com of the year

This could be easily put under the best drama of 2024 category. Each and every episode of the drama was fun to watch, It is rare to see these days to have rom-com in every episode. The cast of both flashbacks and the present were top notch in their acting , they really brought up the goofiness of the characters.

Disappointing Watch Indeed!

An unnecessary misunderstanding caused by a jealous best friend separated two star-crossed lovers for almost eighteen years!

This pretty much sums up the premise of this show- boy and girl belong to enemy camps, they date briefly in school, have a minor fight which leads to their separation because the girl’s best friend sows discord between them. While I did enjoy the “Enemies to Lover’s” trope (especially the younger actors were cute), the time & tested formula could only hold out for so far. Between Yun Ji Won’s gullible trust on her friend and Seok Ji Won’s obsessive nature, the storyline dragged out and somewhere along the line, it became boring. I’m not complaining about the actor’s though, they did a commendable job embodying the struggles faced by their individual characters. It’s just that this show didn’t hit the right spot and I’m disappointed because I had high expectations!

Romance stuck in 20th century

Romance of the adult leads was stuck in 20th century. Romance, dating and flirting in 2024 has moved on from stilted and childish characters portrayed in this drama. This is most annoying when the characters are 30+. The younger versions of the leads had more passion and chemistry. Overbearing parents / elders are becoming cliche. I liked ji won’s mum’s character so much more relatable. Even the costumes of the characters seemed dowdy and not really in keeping with Seoul fashion.
the secondary storyline didn’t become clear until last two episodes and felt flat and uninteresting.

What do we want? More 40 year olds in dramas!
When do we want it? Now!
How do we want it? By making them act like teenagers...?

And that would about sum up the biggest problem I have with this drama. The writers had the opportunity to make a really interesting, romantic and mature drama by having some well-known actors in their 40s and decided that they needed to pussyfoot around each other with the emotional dexterity of two kindergartners on a playground?

Make it make sense!

The glaring and the lil' quips were cute...for maybe 2 episodes. At one point, you're going to have to start acting your age, and trust, it took a LOT for me to get through *checks notes* 8 episodes for that to happen. And the writers aren't just guilty of delaying their romantic development for 8 episodes, but tragically, the whole damn plot! It takes nearly 3/4th of the drama to be done (in a 12 episode drama!) JUST for the pace to start picking up.

As a Shakespeare once said... "Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!"

End 2024 with a Good RomCom

Its been a while since I have watched a good romcom.

Lets start in reverse order

OST
the 12 episode series have 2 of the good romcom ost you will ever find, when watching i am very picky with OST, there are ok ones but these 2 is a good one, one by 10CM and one by Big Naughty

these 2 OST fits perfectly to the series and with these 2 tracks, it gives you vibe you want to fall in love in south korea again

CAST
the 2 main cast led the series, but what stands out is the chemistry between the 2 young leads
when was the last time, i guess monster back in 2006, where the 2 young leads have a strong chemistry
future is bright for this 2 young leads, can't wait to see more of them on future series

STORY
the story is a typical family disputes, however there is a twist, same name, grew up together, made a bet together, detiny pulls the 2 together, and lives happily ever after,
a simple story without over the top story twist, is a good approach with the right chemistry.

REWATCH
yes you will not get board in rewatching this series, specially if you are on marathon

Happy 2025 Everyone!!!

Tenero e romantico

A Midlife Romcom That Feels Middle School

When you see the names "CJ ENM" and "Studio Dragon" flash across the screen in the opening credits, you know you’re in for a visual and technical treat. True to form, Love Your Enemy delivers on production quality, with polished cinematography and meticulous attention to detail. The music, too, is a standout, boasting contributions from some of the biggest names in the industry, making the OST a highlight of the drama.

The series starts strong, peppered with laugh-out-loud moments that genuinely catch you off guard. The humor, especially in the early episodes, keeps the tone light and engaging. However, as the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that Love Your Enemy is, at its core, a textbook romcom.

Unfortunately, the drama leans heavily on tired tropes. The depiction of characters—despite being in their 40s—sometimes feels juvenile, bordering on cringeworthy. The frequent reliance on the "adults acting like middle schoolers" cliché detracts from the emotional depth that one might expect from a series with mature protagonists.

Midway through, I found myself hoping for a pivot—a moment where the story would rise above its predictable beats and offer something refreshing or profound. Sadly, that moment never came. While it’s not a bad drama by any means, it fails to leave a lasting impression, playing it safe within the confines of its genre.

Love Your Enemy is an easy watch for those seeking light entertainment with high production values and catchy music. But for viewers craving depth or a fresh take on romance, it might feel like a missed opportunity.
