Bitter sweet
Beautiful, the story and the acting. Everythingabout this series was beautiful. It felt so real, the dialoge and the struggles Go Yeong had. The way we could see his growth, slow but steady. Nam
Yoon Su truly is a amazing actor and although its not the ending I had hoped for this will be on my
favourite list.
The relationships he had where all different and everytime we could see the way he had learned from the last relationship. The way he grows over the years from a student who drinks and goes clubbing and sleeps around to a person who knew that he will maybe never find love but who tries to be okay with himself.
My favourite relationship he had was with Gyu Ho, them breaking up was sad and the flashbacks made it bittersweet.
His friends were amazing (which is an understatement) and seeing his mother change after all that happened felt real to me.
All in all an amazing series.

Why rewatch it when you already know someones sad story ?
This k-drama was really interesting and pure addicting to watch, the protagonist were realistic with being gay and all the men he was with showed how selfish and worse he was. He was also having character development too which I liked through the whole series. What I liked about this k-drama was his group friends that was soo funnyy and something that one could wish to have when they are going through the bad days. Expecially the Female best friend who was really supportive too!Allthough the ending was fkn sad...I wish he could be back with Gyu ho, bro why JUST WHYYYY. I'm on tears writing this.
And also I think rewatching this again would be boring, because you already know ones lifestory so why bother watching it again ?

The best series ever
Literally EVERYTHING about this show was amazing!!! So realistic! I actually like that Yeong ended up not with Gyuho in the end because he needed to know he didn’t appreciate what he had until it was gone. I cried way too many times watching this show, which to me means it was an amazing production and acting! I loved how they showed both perspectives in the scenes in Bangkok because it shows just how blind love is! Gyuho was too in love with Yeong to see that love had been gone for a long time but he was just holding on to little parts of their old relationship that would come out. I also love how Yoonsu was able to have great chemistry with every single guy he had to act with! But my hot take on this was Yeong was a selfish guy, but only because he didn’t believe he deserved love. With his mom sending him to conversion therapy and then later dying and then an ex-boyfriend dying after he treated him badly, and then Yeoungsu dating him basically as an experiment, Yeong understandably didn’t feel worthy of love. But yet he still wanted to try again with Gyuho. I think Yeong is just one of those people who don’t know how to live with being alone, and unfortunately everyone except his three friends left him. This show had me sucked in from the beginning but I really knew it when even I missed Gyuho when he left. I cried so hard! It’s a beautiful story and I want to rewatch but I’m definitely gonna need to heal from the first watch before I do!Cet avis était-il utile?
A masterpiece, Go watch it now!!!
<3The best drama of the year is worthy of an Oscar/ Emmy. The best Igbtq show to ever come out of an overrated conservative country. Finally, a realistic drama that's not cliche fairytale.
The acting, the chemistry, the cinematography, the emotions , everything is perfect , raw and real about this series .
The actors and the directors definitely nailed their roles.
You should definitely watch it

This show may be one of the most realistic we've seen so far.
I kind of never will forgot this bl. It portrays life in such a realistic way, with several approaches that will destroy you. 😭 Literally EVERYTHING is perfect on this show, from the filmography to the actors, conveying feelings in such a beautiful way. Its quite impossible to not cry or to not feel involved/part of the mc, especially for us - lgbt community - life can be not easy for us and maybe we will have to deal with this loneliness until the end. I cried over all episodes, im not even joking, this really touched me and made me reflect on things i never had before in a deeply way. (religion issues yk, it hits so much hard when Fable song was released lol...)TRUST ME!!!! It is worth it. gente nao sei mais o que falar serio to destruida brasil ptbr aqui é nois galera tmjjj pai que tanto de linha

So far so good
It's a shame that a few people had to complain about this and protested to get it cancelled in south Korea when there's nothing wrong with it. There are movies full of sex violence torture abuse etc, but just because it's guys kissing they came pointing the finger at, while thinking to have the right to do so they're actually the ones behaving in a bad way, causing harm to others who are not harming anyone around them, also it's still a work of fiction, see it as you want but let other people be as well. While watching at the beginning I was already feeling like there was nothing about it that needed cancellation, if anything it quickly faced some aspects of reality that we should be more open, safe and comfortable to talk about. Acting is top notch, music just fits like a glove, picture, pacing, all fantastic. Let's focus on what really matters and support this work and the people that have it all for it, also isn't the protagonist the guy that donated his kidney to his father?! Hats down, they've done outstandingly well in the king's affection before, the whole cast seem to have been accurately assembled. Looking forward to the next episodesCet avis était-il utile?

the best of the best korean bl
It is a story that from beginning to end is deep and cruel. shows how you don't necessarily have to share a blood bond with someone for them to be your family and refuge It shows us how life goes on and sometimes we are the ones left behind thinking about what we could have done well and what we couldn't. It shows us the prejudiced love that some parents have where, blinded by this, they end up hurting and damaging the lives of their children. They show us how a relationship can have love but that doesn't mean they will be together forever. They show us how people are going to come into our lives who are going to leave their mark on us, whether for better or worse, but who are going to help us develop as people.Cet avis était-il utile?
UMA OBRA DE ARTE
É tão intenso e profundo. A realidade do cotidiano dos personagens. A evolução do Ko Young. Os sentimentos que vão se construindo. É tudo tão perfeito que eu mal consigo descrever. Não é um conto de fadas bonitinho. Vai muito além disso. É algo que a gente pode se apegar, servir de conforto, servir de aprendizado. Emocionante e cruel. Especial e duro ao mesmo tempo. Simplesmente perfeito.Cet avis était-il utile?
Love In A Big City: A Small World For A Big Love!!!
Love in the Big City moved me in a way that’s hard to put into words. It wasn’t just the kind of show you watch—it was the kind that wraps itself around your heart and makes you feel every beat of it. The way it portrayed love felt so deeply real, like it was telling a story for all of us—no labels, no boundaries—just love in its purest form. Watching the characters navigate their emotions, their fears, and their hopes felt like looking into a mirror, seeing the same vulnerabilities and desires we all carry. It’s rare to come across something that feels so human, so alive, that it shakes you to your core. I found myself holding my breath during the quiet moments, feeling the weight of their emotions in my chest as if they were my own. That’s the kind of show this is—the kind that lingers long after the screen fades to black, making you reflect on your own experiences, your own heart. And then there’s the actor. I can’t express how much respect I have for him. It’s one thing to play a role, but it’s another to choose a role that you know could change everything for you. He didn’t just step into this character—he owned it, with every ounce of sincerity and passion he could muster. In a world that sometimes seems afraid of stories that break the mold, he stood there, unapologetically, and told this story with a vulnerability that left me speechless. The bravery it takes to not just perform but to stand behind something that could impact your future is beyond inspiring. He made me realize that sometimes the stories that matter most are the ones that challenge us, the ones that require us to step into the unknown and take a risk. And through him, I felt that—the courage to live fully, to love fully, even when the world isn’t ready. That’s what this show did for me. It made me remember that life isn’t about the endings we look for, but about the moments of truth we live through.
It's impossible to talk about this without acknowledging the groundwork laid by earlier shows, particularly "Where Your Eyes Linger" (2020), directed by Hwang Da Seul. That series marked the first significant step in South Korean media towards openly exploring stories of love between two men. The success of "Where Your Eyes Linger" allowed for a cultural shift, opening doors for more complex, genuine love stories to be told. Since then, the industry has been moving forward cautiously, and "Love in the Big City" feels like the culmination of those brave early efforts, bringing an even broader, more inclusive narrative to the forefront.
What stands out is the journey over these past few years—incremental progress that finally reached a point where a show like this could emerge with confidence. It's a testament to the courage of the creators, actors, and production teams, who have taken a step forward in expanding what love means on screen in a conservative society, showing that love itself transcends all boundaries. It's a show for everyone, capturing the beautiful mess of human emotions, with no need to categorize or define it.

so much more than just romance
I loved EVERYTHING about this. They kept the essence of the novel while adding new elements that only helped build on the story. The structure & sequence was perfectly aligned to Young’s character development. Every single cast member poured their hearts out! I want to give a standing ovation to Nam Yoonsu. I already had so much respect for him for taking on the role and embracing it with so much confidence in the face of the backlash, so to see that reflected in his performance was amazing. He was the perfect Young, I can’t imagine anyone else other than him.Sending most love out to the crew behind this masterpiece though, it wouldn’t have come to life without them. I’m glad the writer was so involved with the drama bc I don’t think it would’ve been as true to the novel if he wasn’t. no one knows the story and characters like him. Also props to him for being so willing to make changes to his own novel and making young’s friend group have a bigger presence in the drama. I don’t think the drama would’ve been the same without them fr. I loved seeing a queer friend group in a kbl for the first time. And the fact that they’re all so in touch with their queerness was so lovely to see. Truly one of the best aspects of the drama. Park Sangyoung you are a mastermind!
Overall, the drama was the perfect adaptation of the novel, and in some ways, it was even better than it. This drama is in a league of its own when it comes to kbls like it won’t be topped for years to come. Thank you to the cast and crew for bringing such a masterpiece to life!
