Espetacular
Que história incrível!! Não esperava menos da nossa incrível Sammon, ela sempre acerta em cheio!Primeiramente, que história espetacular, me prendeu do começo ao fim e passou tanto sentimento q me sentia ansiosa e nervosa assistindo.

Constant contemplation
It is truly remarkable how well-crafted this story was. There are quite a number of charcters that really get in-depth characterisation although this story is only 8 episodes long. We truly get to see the juxtapostion between savings lives and caring about a person's life. Anesthesia is a controversial topic, and I think this drama portrayed the polemic adequately. And although Tew and Kan never agreed on it, there was a kind of mutual understanding, bcs they were both headstrong in their beliefs. That final reveal truly brought all the emotions from the last 7 episodes together for a final bang. truly impressive, pensive and rewarding all at once.

This doesn't work as a BL and it alters the source in a negetive way
No, I reject this entire mess of a show. The only prasie I CAN give to it is the production team because it was visually a stunning piece of work complete with some of the best atmospheric visuals I've seen. The rest is an absolute dumpster fire and if I was Sammon I would have NEVER approved this script. I sincerely hope it was something she had no choice over.
For honestly the last 2 and a half episodes I sped ran. I did fully watch in pivotal moment without 10 sec skipping my way through.
The BL aspect was a bust on every level of this show. Up until this episode these two did not in any way shape or form act like people in love. Leaving the suspecting each other aside there was little dialogue to support it and when it was there it came out of nowhere. Their body language always had a major distance between them and even the way they looked at each other wasn't that of lovers.
The initial I like you was out of left field and I feel sorry for anyone stepping into this without knowing it is a BL because it is such a confusing piece of dialogue. There is no lead-up to it and no reason for him to say it. Another very jarring moment is Tew grilling Kan about the director's death and leaving Kan's house in a snit with a different lead other than Kan. The next moment we get a scene of Tew giving Kan a pen and saying happy birthday. 🤯 Mood swings much? Even Tew moving in feels more like he is doing it to get access to the house more than they love each other.
These two share nothing in common other than the mother which Tew is suspicious of, not I love the doctor for taking care of her. The book leans on FWB but these two don't have sex until the very end, so what is left? Nothing. There is no earthly reason for these two to like each other in the drama and the actors do NOTHING to encourage us to believe they love each other.
For this episode, we get all the BL moments as skimpy as they were. While not a dead fish kiss it lacks passion. The only thing that could be said about it is that visually the camera work and editing is top notch so at least it looks pretty. It is hard to feel anything without a connection between the characters.
Now I can forgive ALL that . From episode 1 it was very obvious this wasn't going to be a good BL show. The actors lack chemistry and very much felt like the guys in a crime show that someone forgot to mention was a BL. You really don't watch Sammon's shows for the romance. But this was a failure in the storyline as well.
There was very little mystery since they laid it all out fairly early. The cast was tiny so you only had two options for the killer. I'll admit I did suspect the nurse at first but it didn't take long for Boss to be the obvious pick. To be fair this wasn't really a mystery sort of show but at the same time the info dump of the paitients in the end felt out of place because they were trying to keep it one, so I brought it up.
You turn your BF in after he is in the clear in all kinds of FU. After that impassioned speech, Tew STILL didn't get it completely screwed over the whole point of the show in the direction they took it. By changing the story to make it so the only people Kan killed were people that wanted to die there should have been no reason for Tew to want to arrest him. Tew should have been able to come to terms with his mother's death realize the mercy in euthanasia and let Kan go. Instead, Tew understood nothing. While he still "loves" Kan he views euthanasia as wrong. The nicest interpretation is a ridge view of the law is the law. Still, after that impassioned speech where Kan lays his soul out Tew's words, will you confess ,was like a slap in the face.
With the book, there is a good reason for Tew to arrest Kan. There are even some fascinating discussion points on where euthanasia, murder, and the slippery slope where the two can collide. This drama is a big fat NOPE on any of that. In the end, I will give credit somewhat to the dive they did into the trauma of terminally ill patients and how childhood trauma shaped both Boss and Kan as well as nurse. Boss, the dad tried to kill the mom so both parents ended up dead his lesson was terminal patients were bad and needed to be gotten rid of. While Kan's was his mom trying to kill herself and needed to be released from suffering. Along with laying out all of Kan's patients' last wishes, it did do an ok job of laying out Kan's side but it misses the very important aspect of the families of those paitents that live with daily grind. Tew's perpective isn't nearly as importnat as many of the others. Also doing a run through at the end of the paitents last moments not coupled with the little we do get of their familes leaves their stories disjointed. I half forgot that the mentor and the director were connected by the end.
It completely throws the work the show does do to show euthenaisa in a postive light out the door with Tew turning Kan in. When you look back at all the characters in this show, not one single person changed their stance on euthanasia. Even the coroner who caught Kan out and understood why her dad died. She warns Kan NOT to do it again. Tew is even worse because he ARRESTS Kan. I applaud the police department in the respect that they didn't want to dig deep into this case, only Tew did. If they were going to change the book so drastically then they should have changed the ending as well. The takeaway is euthanasia at the end of the day is wrong. I guess if you believe in that stance it is a great ending but still a screwed-up one for a BL. The very fact they didn't have a time jump of Tew fetching Kan from prison just drives home how bad of a BL this is.
TBH from what I've been told of the book this show does a disserive to them. It has change the overall theming of it by not having Kan be a murder of people not ill and not lying and going behind Tew's back to cover things up. By making Kan a good guy but punishing for it and making it seem like his childhood trama lead him to killing people instead of a nuianced approch strays too far from the book I think The nusciances of euthnasia and murder have been stripped beyond the Boss and Kan simple contrast. They tried to put too much in one drama and cast extremly poorly for this.

I want a season 2
In the beginning i wasn't 100% sure if i was going to like this one but i was very pleasantly surprised. the plot was very much thought out and though i feel could have gone farther into the story ( i say this about everything tho, it might just be a me thing, i might want too much info ). i had to take a step away from watching at one point just to decompress from the whole info dump that was dropped. The open ending is one that has soooo much potential to make another season. I know that probably will not happen, but a girl can dream. based on how Tew has reacted in the past to the situations regarding his mother i do believe that what is implied at the end does happen. this would be a great opening to another season because it opens so many doors and possibilities. The show was overall amazing, and as someone who is not a big fan of thriller or suspense this one was really good. I think the character development that we see throughout the whole story was also very well done. yeah, this was really good and i hope to see more in the future. :)Cet avis était-il utile?
The Main point of the Story !
I love every detail about this series especially the law doctor wants to point out. Law doesn't have heart and I get what he meant. If someone asks me do I agree with doc say before I watch this Series, I might not sure but after this series, I was super sure I agree with him. This series literally tells me something that I haven't think of. It was a whole new message and I love that. For the acting, I don't think I even need to say. The Main leads and every support roles really nailed their roles. About the romance, the director knows what he's doing tbh. The little glance makes me blush which is crazy cause I have been watching bl series which contain NC scene tho. So this is work of art I will say. And ofc not everything will happens like we all want. I have one word for ending scene , that is a masterpiece. I don't wanna spoil but the ending scene was really detail and makes you feel something for a week. After all, I really recommend everyone to watch this. Trust me it's worth watching.Cet avis était-il utile?
I NEED TEN MORE SERIES OF THEM RIGHT NOW
Watching Spare Me Your Mercy was the highlight of my week. Every Wednesday and Thursday, I eagerly counted down the hours until I could immerse myself in its beautiful story and unforgettable characters. The chemistry between the leads was absolutely magical—every glance, every touch, and every conversation felt real and raw. The story itself was so compelling, blending emotional depth with moments of tenderness and tension that kept me hooked. The acting was another standout—each performance brought the characters to life in a way that made me deeply care about their journey. One of the most thought-provoking aspects of the series was Dr. Kan's struggle with euthanasia and the moral dilemmas he faced. I empathized deeply with his pain and inner conflict, and it made me reflect on the importance of compassion and choice in such difficult situations. While I understood the necessity of him paying for his crimes, I couldn’t help but hope that, after serving his penance, he would find peace and redemption. The idea of him and his love finding their happy ending someday gave me a bittersweet sense of hope amidst the tragedy.
Now that it’s over, I can’t help but feel a void. Life feels a little emptier, a little quieter, without the anticipation of a new episode. This show wasn’t just a series; it became a part of my routine, my joy, and my heart. I know it will stay with me for a long time because shows like this don’t come around often.

A excellent choice of series
How can I praise the beauty of a series that, from its very first announcement, captured my attention without resorting to the usual clichés? I’d say this is easily achieved through a simple analysis of the work itself. It is a fact that BLs with unconventional themes, like this one, which addresses the practice of euthanasia, captivate audiences simply by deviating from the standard narratives we are accustomed to. However, SMYM went beyond that, showing us that a well-crafted story with a heavy emotional load can be executed beautifully in just a few episodes. The philosophical conflicts that shaped the relationship between the policeman and the doctor were brilliantly constructed, reinforcing my belief that love, no matter how pure, is also susceptible to deterioration when it blooms in an environment of discord and deceit.
Unlike some critics, I don’t consider the romance insufficient, given how the plot was structured. From the very beginning, Wasan was presented as a serious individual whose professional mission often overshadowed his personal life. Moreover, he was exposed to the mysterious deaths of terminal patients under Dr. Kan’s care early on, which made his feelings toward the doctor ambiguous and diminished the possibility of a deeper relationship. How could someone who had personally experienced the pain of losing a patient fully involve themselves romantically with their prime suspect?
That said, I don’t want readers to think the romance is reduced to a game of manipulations or that the series lacks emotional scenes. The characters’ feelings develop slowly, but they are understandable, and the actors’ chemistry greatly enhanced the relationship's progression. Without exaggeration, the actors delivered a stunning performance in their romantic interactions!
What’s more, the moral dilemmas, the characters’ conflicting perceptions, and the well-crafted scenes that urged us to speculate about potential outcomes were incredibly appealing elements for any viewer open to the beauty of the drama.
Finally, I’d like to emphasize that the series isn’t perfect. There are some points to consider before deciding to watch it, especially since its premise focuses primarily on mystery and the ethical questions surrounding euthanasia. This might not appeal to viewers seeking a more conventional romance. Another factor that could influence your evaluation is the realistic ending, which, in my humble opinion, was perfectly aligned with each character’s personality as presented throughout the series. However, if you’re not a fan of open endings, this might impact your overall experience.
The epilogue is truly moving, and the actors’ performances were divine. Therefore, I confidently assert that Spare Me Your Mercy is a mature production capable of making you smile, cry, and fall in love with the dynamic and chemistry of the main couple, making it an excellent choice for those looking to escape routine BLs and for anyone who loves reflecting on ethical questions through such rich storytelling.

The best BL series to end the year.
As a devoted reader of the novel, I approached the series Spare Me Your Mercy with high expectations, knowing the depth of the original work. Despite the challenges inherent in adapting such a layered narrative, the series not only meets but surpasses those expectations, proving to be a remarkable adaptation. Compressing two books into just eight episodes is no small feat, yet the series achieves this with grace and finesse, delivering a story that feels both faithful to its source material and engaging in its own right. This series stands as one of the finest examples of the BL genre. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, but what truly stands out is its ability to balance romance with profound themes. It doesn’t merely cater to romantic desires but dares to touch on issues of morality, choice, and humanity.
The intricate development of the main relationship offers a refreshing depth, where affection is a bit rushed but builds naturally. The acting in this series is nothing short of extraordinary. The cast, particularly the leads, delivers compelling. The emotional range displayed is remarkable, with the actors seamlessly transitioning between moments of lightheartedness and gut-wrenching sorrow. The ability to convey such intense emotion through subtle expressions and minimal dialogue highlights the actors' exceptional talent (as expected from Tor and Jaylerr)
The chemistry between the leads isn't just about romantic tension—it’s about their characters’ growth (how Wassan tries to understand why the doc did the euthanasia), their struggles, and their love for each other amidst adversity. The actors breathe life into the narrative, making each scene unforgettable.
The music of Spare Me Your Mercy is a crucial part of its success. The soundtrack is carefully chosen to reflect Wassan's feelings. Please give the applause for P'Nont Tanont.
Spare Me Your Mercy is also visually mesmerizing. The cinematography captures the beauty of its setting with an artistry that’s rare in the BL series.
One of the most powerful and courageous aspects of Spare Me Your Mercy is its exploration of the euthanasia issue. The series does not shy away from delving into this morally complex and sensitive issue, offering a nuanced portrayal of the characters’ struggles between the laws of euthanasia and the lives of critically ill patients. Euthanasia, often a difficult subject, is addressed with the utmost respect and delicacy. The series raises important ethical questions, challenging viewers to confront their own beliefs about autonomy, suffering, and the right to die with dignity.

One of the best shows I watched this year, I'm never watching it again /j
The show was great, the moral/ethical discussions took most of the plot with little space to romance, which I personally don't mind (I started the show keeping in mind that the romance was only a background factor). If you're as biased as I am about the topics in the show it can be a little bit frustrating, especially towards the end, but it's frustrating in a good way (?) if you get what I mean.
The mistery keeps you watching, even if a little bit predictable, and a few plot wholes and continuity errors weren't big enough to take away the focus from the actual story.
Great show overall but I DEFINITELY need to watch something more lighthearted before even thinking of rewatching this one.

Review: Spare Me Your Mercy (A.K.A Euthanasia)
For all fans of suspense, medical drama, and investigative thrillers with deep questions about morality and ethics, THIS SERIES IS FOR YOU.I’ve always loved diving into the worlds created by Sammon, and I’m captivated by how she explores and brings to light the underlying themes in her novels. Two of her works that stand out for me—making her a must-read author—are Manner of Death (which tackles human and drug trafficking, sexual abuse, abortion, and homicide) and Triage (which deals with the illegal trade of human organs).
Now, Spare Me Your Mercy is nothing short of a masterpiece. I read the first book of the novel and loved every second of it. It challenges your morals and beliefs about euthanasia, questioning whether states have the legitimacy to interfere with an individual’s right to choose in situations where only pain and tears remain until the final breath.
I was positively surprised by the changes made in the series and found them well-executed. I especially appreciated how the series incorporated the debate about the right to choose life or death in the final stages of cancer, alongside the moral and legal dilemmas surrounding it.
The casting of Tor and JJ was excellent, in my opinion. They perfectly embodied the characters, bringing the maturity required for the story. Unlike teenagers, the protagonists are young adults in their thirties, with well-formed ideals and convictions, which gave the series a more mature tone in line with its complex themes.
A standing ovation for Tor! Watching him, I saw Kantapat exactly as I imagined while reading the novel—his mannerisms, suspicious glances, and compassionate approach toward his patients were spot on. The way Tor portrays emotions and pulls you into the character’s journey is remarkable. I cried alongside him in the series’ final moments.
The cinematography was masterfully crafted, the OST was breathtaking with Nont’s voice, and the performances by Tor, JJ, and all the supporting cast were remarkable and a true pleasure to watch.
🚨🚨🚨 SPOILER ALERT ⚠️⚠️⚠️
One of the season’s most intriguing elements was Tew discovering that his beloved was the one performing euthanasia on several patients, including his own mother. It was powerful to see Kantapat offer his perspective, clarifying that his actions stemmed from a desire to relieve unbearable suffering and provide his patients with a dignified death.
The final scene, where Tew gives Gun a flower symbolizing forgiveness and confesses his love, was deeply moving. It was a perfect mix of love and duty as Tew, being a law enforcement officer, ultimately had to fulfill his duty. Despite Kantapat’s convictions, he had crossed legal boundaries.
I sincerely hope there’s a second season. Now, I can’t wait to read the second book and once again immerse myself in the emotional and thought-provoking universe that only Sammon can create.

A Little Preachy, Obvious Activist Piece
I'm from a country that allows assisted suicide in certain places, which I think is more "dignified" (using term from the series) as the patient administers the drugs autonomously. This gives the patient more "power of the body" and leaves it in the hands of the patient. So I do have bias is how I interpreted this series.I thought the story was more of an activist statement at the expense of great storytelling. I think that the story is microcosm of Dr. Kan and it could have had analysis. With his focus being on end of life termination, he loses focus on being a healer and instead becomes a grim reaper, for the cause, and for his ego. He would not terminate so many people if his ego was not in play. From the professor to his last patient, you can see his feelings expressed in his eyes. That was due to the fantastic acting of Tor. The Captain's story got 5 minutes at most over all of the episodes. I would have like to have seen more of his story.
I understand that euthanasia is illegal in the country where the story takes place, but the doctor's story should be that his passion is end of life, not in the practice of medicone. Had he cared about keeping people healthy and healing illnesses, he would not have removed a doctor from a rural community which will take months to replace him. This is why the story is partly about Dr. Kan's ego and the role he plays as the grim reaper. Many physicians will play an advisory role in places where this is illegal instead of an active role because having a doctor as an advocate is more powerful. So while we viewers can glom on to Kan being a hero, the community, which looks to be mostly poor, is now missing a doctor. Anybody who has studied rural healthcare will understand that problem. But sometimes our activism is the most important thing to us as humans. As a disgraced doctor, Kan will not be able to advocate for legislation because he is technically a murderer. I loved that part of the story, that even hero archetypes like Dr. Kan can be a fragile human.
The series had more romantic scenes between supporting cast than the main characters. The love story between the main characters is almost non-existent. Just a lot of talk, very little intimacy or affection. The Captain wasn't even needed as a love interest. He could have been just another dude in the community. Also, huge plot hole is that morphine, fentanyl or whatever Dr. Kan is using to send them off is also tightly controlled. With 20+ deaths, I'm thinking that someone should have noticed the missing drugs. Maybe the Dr. Duangnet would have noticed, since she notices everything else, except that. The acting was vey good, and I liked the music. I probably will not rewatch, but I think that people who are heavily invested in euthanasia as a topic will rewatch.
