Secret love, high school romance, tons of pining, YA journey of finding yourself
GMMTV gave us a classic high school set Thai BL with tropes like messy boys singing their feelings that made this one Love Sick for the modern age with all the gentle sweetness and pining ache, but none of the dated damaging tropes or issues. Yes, we’ve seen it all before, but I still ADORE this. And there is a lot to be said for the classics being executed perfectly. Who let my BL be this wholesome and funny? This show was fantastic, it’s only flaw was the singing (and that’s my baggage). My favorite GMMTV BL offering to date. And yes, I've watched them ALL. Gemini and Fourth were spectacular, I hope we get tones more of them (check out Moonlight Chicken, they're excellent on that too.)Cet avis était-il utile?
Still can't believe I didn't drop this!
I'll start with the things I didn't like so I can end this review on a good note. I'll start with... It literally took me 3 episodes to get hooked into the story. Why?Because I thought the series was over after only the first episode and was wandering what else was left. It's like knowing what's wrapped in a present before you even open it. After the first episode The only question left to answer was "how will Gun fall for Tinn?" cause it's already known and shown that Tinn is so whipped (I mean dude u have no idea). Honestly The only reason I went on was because I thought maybe there were more to the story than that (it's GMM after all)... but nope NOTHING!
The episodes felt soooo long and at the 6th or 7th I could swear there wasn't much left but the plot just kept on dragging some more. How did I get through?? Simple the things I liked...
THE CAST! The chemistry and acting of this cast is one of the best I've ever seen. And can I just give a round of applause to "the parents"? They were so good and I was so excited and looking forward to see them in every episode. I also really liked how healthy the relationship between TinnGun was. Fr had they not sold the main point right from the get go I would've been more invested in their couple. They were cute but that's it. They were cute in every single episode so not much there to feed on.
It wasn't all bad but I won't be watching this again.

Catered for BL fans who like fluffy cliches and tropes
Oh, great! Another convoluted high school BL. My School President is a BL series, perfect for those with a taste for childlike fluff and jam-packed BL clichés. This show seems tailor-made for young girls and adults obsessed with the same tired old fluffy BL clichés. Also, it’s for a certain type of BL fans who complain about there being too many bad BLs and would like more adult BLs but still rave about this. And don't even get me started on those irritating sound effects that haunt every scene like a bad dream. Prepare yourself for the cringe-worthy sound effects that pierce the eardrums like a thousand daggers. The school principal, oh, what a gem! Abusing her power to crush a music club because the male lead dares to offend her in the last semester, the epitome of pettiness. She happens to be the male lead Tinn’s mother. I can’t believe they gave her a glossed over redeeming arc. As for Gun’s mother, she hides her sickness to "protect" her child, leaving him with no closure again after losing the father. But don't worry, this series just brushes over it like it's nothing, and the die-hard fans? Oh, they'll gobble it all up, no questions asked.
Then we get the never-ending "will they ever kiss" nonsense that has the comment section going berserk. Seriously, BL fans treat this garbage like it's the finest filet mignon money can buy. And as for the teeny bopper songs, ugh, not my cup of tea at all. It's like watching a cringeworthy version of High School Musical but if this is your thing then you’ll love this series.
This school BL is for the kiddieish crowd who see are into feel good fluff without substance. Diehard fans of this type of school BL will gloss over bad acting and plot holes in favor of fluffiness where they are very unforgiving in other series. I can't believe I had to endure this mind-numbing drivel just because I was watching it with someone else. Of course, they had to throw in the "no dating" plot device to drag this disaster to a whopping 12 episodes. God forbid we get a genuinely interesting series.
Oh, but wait, there's a second couple with an enemies-to-lovers trope. Sounds promising, right? Nope, they managed to ruin it by giving it absolutely no thought, and suddenly, we're all supposed to believe they're madly in love. Spare me the agony.
Thiu, the one redeeming character, started off as a lovable wingman to Tinn but became a hot mess when he developed feelings for Pat. It felt like the director couldn't decide if they wanted a throuple situation, especially since I initially thought Pat and Por were a couple during the music video shoot. It's just sad to see Thiu paired with Pat while Por ends up in the friendzone. The inconsistency in character arcs is truly disappointing.
And then there's "OurSkyy 2: My School President." I had to fast-forwarded straight through the series to review it, and even the fan I was with couldn't stomach it till the end and had the good sense to abandon ship before the end. That should tell you everything you need to know about the quality of story and acting of this abomination. Save yourself the pain and avoid this at all costs if you’re not into delightful parade of rainbows and unicorns nonsense.

I love them all romance? makes you squeal non stop. I'm a person who never rewatch any shows no matter how good they are bc i believe first time gives the best reaction but with this one it's definitely worth it cuz no matter how many times you watch it makes your day and you won't be bored even a second.Cet avis était-il utile?

Cuteness overload and nothing more!
I was bored, so bored while watching this! These two being cute and adorable, zero toxicity and no conflict (well a tiny one, blink-and-you-miss-it kind) , was OK for a few episodes and then it went flat going round and round in cute and adorable little circles! And I was bored out of my mind!Don't misunderstand me, it was really well done, well written and a novel concept, cinematography top notch, and still I was bored! I do not fast forward while watching but I play games on my mobile and I played a lot while this was playing in the background!
What I liked:
- cute and adorable leads
- comic relief provided by band members and not the usual trans/effeminate gay characters
- no toxic mad females
- ballroom dance and ep 5 musical kind of music number
- the first love
What I did not like:
- repetitive plot: teased kisses
- lack of female characters
- most of the music
- the "no relationship while in band" plot device
The first few episodes were the best and though I almost dropped it while watching the first one, I was on board when the final twist came! Gun is a singer in a high school band and the school president, Tinn, has had a crush on him for two years. It is the final year of high school so Tinn decides to do everything in his power to help Gun with his band in order to get to know him and maybe more! The complications arise when Tinn finds out there is a rule of the music club: the members are not allowed to be in a relationship until the singing competition is over. Well this provides plot for about 10 episodes! After 5 episodes they realize they are attracted to each other but because of the rule they restrain themselves for the next five episodes. This is the occasion to place a good number of attempted and avoided kisses! They kisses bottles, notebook, medal but not each other!
While we are on that subject, I wonder if there had been some new guidelines within Thai BL industry because this is the second series in a row I see where the high school kids refrain from kissing until after graduation. Just like in I Will Knock You, they kiss, in spite of numerous attempted and averted kisses, only after graduation!
To make things perfectly clear, you can tell a love story without physical expression of it, but you need to tell it well! I do not look for kissing scenes in the dramas I watch: I look for a tightly woven story that keeps me glued to the screen! Not the case here! I was not glued, if anything, I was really annoyed with the endless repetition of tease kisses!
And of course they ticked off everything that is on the romcom required scenes list: riding a bike together, putting the helmet on a crush, sharing an umbrella, turn your head for an accidental almost kiss, back hugs, piggyback rides, treating a wound etc. etc. It was oh so formulaic but everything was done with those huge, adorable, cute and dreamy smiles! So I guess it is OK?
There was no notable conflict to speak of: bad guys were bad for about 10 seconds, Mom was sick for three minutes and the world was gay unfriendly for about 5 minutes. Parents were proud of their gay kids and worried about their futures for about 1 min. The rest was pure, unadulterated cuteness, adorable fluff, diabetes inducing and boring! So, so boring!
And then of course there were long minutes devoted to the product placement: printer, Nivea, drinks and chicken. HELP! I wanted to scream...
The actors were all really good, cute as hell and adorable like puppies. They have a promising future in acting, adorable and the way they are! And they are all quite good musicians and singers. For young men of that age, they are very, very talented! So I hope to see them in other series and not only BL.
The concept of the series wandered about a bit: is it a BL about and featuring music or a bl musical! Not the same thing! Most of the songs were preformed when plot demanded it: on stage with instruments. Some numbers were illustrated with an imaginary story(club, dance) and one was right out of american musical: people just bursting out in song in weirdest places! I did not like any of the songs: they were so alike I had trouble telling them apart and there were some songs repeating over and over again! But I like the idea of a BL musical so I hope to see one sometimes in the future!
This was a single watch, never to be repeated for me! Cuteness and adorableness are enough for one time watch: I need more conflict and angst, I need more drama in dramas I watch! This one was just cute and boring! Definitely not my cup of tea! Not bad but not for me either!

A TOP-TIER BL SERIES
Excellent from start to finish, My School President is a BL masterpiece! The youthful plot, pure and innocent romance, and charming actors come together in perfect harmony. My School President's brisk, energetic narrative will quickly captivate you. I was hooked from the first episode, which introduced memorable protagonists, fun rivalries, and heartbreaking stories. The series' breezy momentum never flags.
Although My School President has numerous strengths, its most outstanding quality is the charming lead actors, Fourth and Gemini. The two leads, Fourth and Gemini, deliver thoughtful performances and perfectly embodied their roles. Whereas Fourth exudes vivacity and fun charm as Gun, Gemini gives Tinn's character understanding and subtle compassion. Off-the-chart chemistry? They got it!
NOT ONLY THAT, but this series subverts the typical BL cliches with original twists that break the mold. My School President is self-aware and genre-savvy. The writing is excellent, flowing smoothly from serious drama to cheerful humor to moving emotional scenes. There is also a charming secondary couple (Win and Sound) and third couple (Tiwson and Por) who are developing a warm romance. From the flawless cinematography to the sumptuous OSTs, all these aspects are conveyed through smooth, steady, and magnificent production values.
Overall, My School President surpasses my expectations and sets triumphant, green flag standards for this genre. I genuinely believe it's one of the best BL dramas in my lifetime. 10/10.

Perfection.
This series saved my life. Thank you #MySchoolPresident. It was just so pure and healthy. I honestly started watching with 0 expectations and my mind was blown by their cuteness, talent and lack of toxicity. I, myself, really love these BL's where the gays are musicians, so it wasn't very hard to get me hooked. Plus, the songs are actually good and that is not very common. Not to mention that it rarely has any drama between the couple and I love it when it's about how both of them fight together. But what made me like this show more was the fact that is it funny. I could tell the screenwriter knew exactly what he was doing using all the GMMTV cliche sounds and cheesiness and putting it ironically. The side couples are also great. The only thing I would change is the last episode, it should've been 100% happy with no drama.Cet avis était-il utile?

My opinions on the show and other reviews (very few spoilers)
Okay so I'll try to keep this as short as I can, but I do have a lot to say about this drama. First of all, it's a really amazing series I honestly really loved everything about it; the chemistry between all the actors (both romantically and friendship wise), the music in the show (I listen to their cover of "just being friendly" so much), the cinematography (especially when they went to the beach), and the story itself was really simple and easy to follow along with. This show is honestly going to be one of my favorites! I read some reviews before writing this and I got a lot of different viewpoints and opinions, some saying the show "has a lot of cliches and tropes" or "they aren't middle schoolers, having more psychicality isn't inappropriate for their age" or something along those lines. I understand but not all BL's have to have NC scenes and honestly, I prefer it if they don't. Those type of scenes aren't for every BL and maybe the actors weren't comfortable doing those things. Also, I don't understand the "tropes" part. It would have been nicer if the reviews elaborated more on that topic so I would understand better since I didn't recognize many tropes in the series but maybe that might've been because I don't read or watch as much BL as lots of others do. The story actually felt different to me compared to other BL's where the pair slowly develops feelings for each other unlike in this drama, there was already existing feelings. Though that is probably more common than I think it made me more into the story as it was something I could relate to (having a one-sided crush on someone). That's all I have to say and as I expected it turned out to be quite long but unlike my review on cutie pie the series (I had A LOT to say about it) this is actually relatively calmer. Thanks to whoever is reading this out of the 155 other reviews. I hope you decide to watch this series even if you have some doubts. Also, it would be great to get some feedback on my review so I can do better when reviewing other shows in the future. As for the rewatch value I just have trouble rewatching shows in general so that's just a me problem lol.Cet avis était-il utile?
Quintessential BL done perfectly!
My School President is my favorite BL because it is quintessential BL, it's BL done right. It's as if they took all the great parts we already loved and made them even better, and eliminated all flaws that bothered me in other shows before. When they included clichés they were aware of it and portrayed it with a wink, making it feel humorous and self aware. It doesn't have a groundbreaking plot and BLs with more outstanding unique storylines or cinematography will come along but I don't think anything will manage to make me feel like this show did for a long long time. It plays in a high school setting and I know so many people didn't even want to give it a chance because of that but then ended up falling for it after all. I never really minded high school settings beside them being repetitive but I also didn't have high expectations, this stole my heart though. It's a warm comforting blanket around my heart and has amazing rewatch potential. I've watched it so often already I know scenes and dialogues by heart. I'm truly amazed how they were able to take a premise that seems so "basic" and turn it into the most exciting show that I've seen in a while. It's proof you don't need to reinvent the wheel and be all out there to create something valuable and progressive. This show shines in so many aspects. First of all it's kind of giving High School Musical and Glee but done right. Usually singing in BLs can be very cringy but the actors here are all so talented, they practiced well to be able to sing and play their istruments for real. All the songs are amazing, both the covers and OSTs, every single one either makes me automatically dance along and do karaoke by myself or makes me emotional. Genuinely does not include a single bad song, I looked forward to the music every episode. Fourth has such a beautiful voice, so do Gemini, Satang and Ford. I also love how they changed up the intros and outros, it reminded me of how anime do the same when a different arch starts and every single one was well edited, cute and creative.
My gosh this show was fun. The editing is, well, typical thai humor. Definitely something one has to get used to if you're new to bl but I personally found it amazing. The way sounds were used really added to the show by making you catch exactly what they want you to catch and setting the mood well. Even the background soundtracks you grew fond of over the course of the show. You can tell from the editing, to the acting, to the writing, directing, every tiny thing that this is a show everyone on the team felt passionate about. It certainly wasn't a project that was created carelessly just because it makes easy money. You can even tell looking at the concept trailer compared to the final result that they changed so so much in the story within that year. They didn't just follow the novel and called it a day, they really thought about what would be best and at the end the show honestly can't be compared to the novel anymore at all because its two different entities, which i'm grateful for. The actors... wow wow wow. Usually I really don't expect much from gmmtv newbies. Most of them still have a lot of room to grow. But GemFourth astounded me, admittedly this wasn't their first project, they had already worked on moonlight chicken before filming MSP, but still these 18 year olds knocked it out of the park. Both absolutely amazing but especially Fourth with his voice acting, comedic timing and microexpressions was so amazing. I honestly see both of them up with the best GMMTV actors already and lovingly title fourth my little Gun, he only has to learn how to actually cry real tears now. Their chemistry is amazing, it makes total sense they were matched up. The scenes they imrovised were always the cutest!
Lets get to the actual show/plot itself. I love how it served us a lot of different things, honestly at the beginning it was positively overwhelming how much happened in just one episode because I wasn't used to that. They managed to make a lot of things fit into 12 episodes without making it feel as if it was paced too quickly. MSP offers some short enemies to lovers which was very fun, it gives you butterflies during the stage in which they develop feelings, friends to lovers, theres secret dating, established relationship, i mean truly giving us everything we want here. The vibe it has is mostly very lighthearted but they also managed to include depth and some very touching moments, but without dragging out angst. There were no forced misunderstandings, no unneccessary pain, they showed reality but in a really hopeful way. It said, "no matter what you're going through someone is there". I think big part of that was not just focussing on romantic love but love in general. At the end of the day that is what this show is about, relationships. The one between tinn and gun which is so sweet and heartwarming but also friendship and family. They did it so well. It's also a show about dreams, about not giving up, about coming of age/having to face the future. If you want something mature, this isn't it, its all very innocent and pure, but I think even adults can enjoy it a lot. Its like a comfort place for people who have already been through those stages of life and also a great show for children/teens to watch that will hopefully inspire them in many different ways. It was so funny sometimes, almost camp, made me laugh, cry, squeal. God my cheeks hurt a lot, i lost my breath too. I don't think I've ever felt this passionately about a show. It was just so much fun, its still fun. I can rewatch this so many times and never grow tired. The show is a complete package, wrapped up with a bow. Its very satisfying and comforting to watch because the don't have open endings. There are some bigger themes that play a role throughout the entire show and slowly develop, but mostly every episode has it's own conflict that is resolved by the end. Every episode is wrapped up in itself. Only the penultimate and finale, episode 11 and 12 I feel have to be watched together because they flow into each other. They also took care to give every character an end to their story. They didn't just introduce characters and forgot them by the end, their finale was honestly perfect. It let us fully appreciate everything we loved about it, say goodbye to all characters and get to know where they are at, even getting some final redemptions.
I love the entiere cast, love all the characters. Chinzhilla is so heartwarming and entertaining. Tiw is the best friend ever who we all deserve in life and should also aspire to be like ourselves! I also really appreciate the parents of our mains in this show. They were present all throughout from beginning to end of the show so we got to know them and were able to build our opinions on them. The parents weren't just shown in context of a conflict they're involved in, but were consistently present in their children's lifes. I found that very well done. The side couples are really adorable and charming in different ways, I was sad that one of them was paid less attention than the other and kind of got the short end of the stick, but I also get why they did it the way they did because I think too much focus could have taken away from the show as a whole. I still enjoyed the moments the side couples has very much. There's something for everyones taste; some people like the side couples more than tinngun, me personally I love all but the main couple TinnGun are definitely my babies. I fell for them hard. I honestly can't think of any couple I've seen in bl that was healthier, and tinngun is carrying that crown only being high school students, how crazy is that. Their support for each other was so good to see. My heart is warming up again thinking about it.
I don't really have any complaints when I look at the show as a complete package but I guess there are some tiny parts I could "criticise"/warn future viewers about. First of all, after the first half of the show between the two main characters there isn't too much development. They do grow but it's really more about them as individual people, their place in the world and their connection to other characters, more than it is about them facing issues between each other. Rather than fighting, they went through outside conflicts hand in hand. I guess for some people this could feel dragged out/boring? Personally I really liked that. I tuned in because I wanted that cuteness and comfort of them and didn't need them to face big obstacles. I was simply satisfied seeing more of them existing. One thing that did feel a little dragged out is that this show teased kisses... a LOT. By the end it felt a bit frustrating. I would have been fine if there was no kiss but the fact that they led up to and teased it over and over made it feel like this big thing that was coming and set the expectations high. It did pay off but those teases are a cause of annoyance you'll have to prepare for, MSP is definitely edging you. Theres also a few moments where actors of side characters could have done a better job at acting but that's honestly fine. I can't think of anything else that is negative I liked it so much.
The show does great at doing callbacks and references to things that have been brought up before. There is always a red string. They were also the first or at least one of the first BLs i can remember to do nonlinear storytelling the way they did and it was so well done and a real catcher to me! I can definitely see more shows following their lead now. I guess in that context I can think of one more thing that might bother some people which is that there's a lot of dreams/fantasies and sometimes you see a scene and aren't immediately sure whether it's actually real or not lol. Personally I thought the signs were there and it was clear but not all people pay attention to hints in sound and filmmaking like that.
One more thing I greatly appreciated about this show was that during the period of time before TinnGun confessed their feelings, they really got to know each other. They didn't just have cute moments and connected over being attracted to each other and flirting, but actually got to know each other as people. They were vulnerable with each other, opened up, shared information about themselves. And the show let us experience these situations with them and it really made sense that they ended up falling for each other. It was a natural development and we were taken on that journey with them. I like that a lot. With the way Tinn treated Gun you really got why Gun would start liking him. Tinn gave Gun a support that he was missing, not that Gun didn't have other great people around him because he does have such an amazing mom and friendgroup, but due to his past and position as band leader he put a lot of pressure on himself to always smile and to be strong for the people relying on and caring for him. That was something he could drop around Tinn, Tinn was there for him and gave him a space where Gun could be "weak". My gosh Tinn... what a boy. What a sweet boy. Without revealing too much of the plot I liked that it never seemed as if he was trying to take advantage of gun and do things just so that gun likes him, but instead you could tell everything he did he did because he genuinely wants Gun happy, no matter if it includes him or not.
Once again I can just repeat its FUN. Its happy vibes. Its exactly what I needed, came at the perfect timing. Its cute, well written, inspiring, and I think they did well at not reducing it to the struggles with ones queer identity while also simultaneously portraying the world realistically. Theres queer joy, not many explicit conversations about queerness but the pride is tangible. The characters are comfortable with themselves but towards the end have to find their footing in a world that isnt always kind. Other than that here you really just have a love story that is relatable to everyone no matter how you identify. It shows the magic of first love/high school romance, the way every tiny thing feels exciting and special, the meaning in ordinary things. You start squealing over things you usually wouldn't care about. It also shows how big and daunting certain things can feel at that age. So yeah its a show enjoyeable for everyone but I also think they did well at making it a show that can educate allies and feels like great representation, as much as fits within a lighthearted high school setting . It filled me with so many positive emotions, it's my treasure. So yeah, thats that. Time passed so quickly following this show but now looking back it feels like its been ages since i discovered it, and as if MSP portrays three different lifetimes. So much content. Thats that, I love MSP, P'Au, P'Aof and my precious babies GemFourth.

The sweetest pie with rich filling
I wasn't planning to enjoy My School President as much as I did.Based on the trailer and summary, the story is very simple. Highschool drama, where the main character gets the boy he is after. Nothing will really surprise you in that regard. But, boy, are there layers to this!
MSP is sweet, fun musical full of innocence and wonder. Aside from romantic relationships, it is also about friendships, growing up and dreams. About being there for each other. After all the fun and goofiness that this show provides, all of the emotional scenes still land exceptionally well. MSP is drama where I would never expect to see believable homophobia and coming out scenes, yet here we are.
All of the relationships, from Tinn and Gun, to Sound and Win to also the boys in the band and parents and their children, are written with care and thought. I was immersed in the development of each and everyone. ESPECIALY the main couple. Their development doesn't just stop when they get together, there is still plenty of things they need to face and overcome. I feel like that' s rare in modern BLs.
Gemini and Fourth are do GODDAMN talented, they are the bright future for GMMTV.
There are problems, of course. As previously said, I feel like there isn't enough story for 12 episode series. The dating ban just feels like a tool to prolong the series but ultimately doesn't work. The pacing is sometimes slow with not much going on and kinda picks up only in the final episodes. If you are a person that can't deal with filler, you may find it boring at times. The main premise about the music contest progresses in such a random intervals that it feels uneven and not important. And sorry but... the singing scenes, as much as they fit into the theme, are still boring. And there is some cringe ( I am looking at you rap battle scene)
But what this drama doesn't have in story, makes up in comedy (I can't believe that I laughed out LOUD, multiple times. That doesn't happen, ever.) and in great characters. I can understand why Tinn fell over heels for Gun, I FELL HEAD OVER HEELS FOR GUN. Sound is great, Win is funny, Gun' s mum is my mum now, Tinn' s father - comedy gold.
This drama also reminded me of Bad Buddy, you can tell that that's the vibe they were going for. Simple story but focus on characters and emotions. It' s still not as good and polished as Bad buddy but if you liked that drama I would highly recommend MSP as well.

Technically? It's Good.
But personally? My School President was not for me.See, this type of series is quite rare for me. It's not a dumpster fire, and yet I very much dislike this series.
Because I fully acknowledge and recognize that on technical aspects, this series is good. It's a typical, solid rom-com. The actors are (mostly) good, the story's pacing is (mostly) good, and the story itself is also (mostly) good. The things that weren't great really aren't big enough to mention or without spoiling stuff.
But, superfans of MSP, beware of the following section.
The episodes are an hour long, which is TOO long. There are many characters. TOO many. The side romance involving Sound and Win was boring. There are so many romcom tropes that we've seen a hundred times, including increasingly creative ways to avoid even the slightest romance between the main leads.
If you're not into music or instruments (like I'm not), this series might add another layer of disinterest and disconnect for you on that basis. Because these characters' lives revolve around their band and their club, and the plot does as well.
You know, I don't necessarily hate school settings, but I DO hate high school settings with believably high school characters. This may sound contradictory in a way--wouldn't you want characters fitting the setting--but I personally prefer more maturity. It's fiction, and you can afford some suspension of disbelief for the sake of a less annoying plot/characters. The main leads and their surrounding cast of supporting characters (except for one) were just too childish for me.
An example of a school setting I did like, was in the Eclipse. Both the way the characters act and the story itself deal with mature topics. I rated the Eclipse a 9.5, even though it takes place 80% of the time within a school.
This I'm bringing up just to show that I'm not necessarily a high school setting hater, nor am I a hater of slow burn with nothing explicit--just take a look at my top series list.
But MSP was boring. It was long and drawn out. And even though I liked the main leads, they just couldn't keep my attention and carry the story to the very end. I forced myself to sit through the last few episodes simply because I wanted to finish it, and because I had hoped that maybe the ending would change my feelings.
I'm glad that MSP has found its audience, but if you're not a rom-com enthusiast, you may be very disappointed because I promise you, it's not going to change its formula. You'll know exactly what's going to happen and how it's going to end.
TLDR; MSP was a slowburn torture for me from the midpoint onwards, but I still implore you to give it a chance and see if you can handle the pace. Because it IS good. Just not good for me.
