Mr. Perfect and Miss Almost (2020)

it didn't work for me.

I was looking for something light when I came across this drama, but I don't think it lived up to my expectations. despite being cute, I don't think it fulfills the role of a romcom well, being very irritating and dragging. I'm going to bring my detailed opinion so that you can understand my point.

about the plot: the plot is very poorly scripted. half of the drama is totally empty, nothing much happens, and the subplots that could be put to good use were left for the last episodes, making everything very superficial and rushed. I know it's supposed to be a light drama, I didn't expect any revealing plots, but I think the background should at least support a plot that's interesting to watch, things just drag on after a few episodes.

in addition, none of the couples know how to dialogue and the amount of shallow fights and disagreements that could be easily resolved with a simple conversation take 90% of the drama time, which made me almost give up on watching, honestly.

about romance: the couple has incredible chemistry and made me smile like a fool for their scenes, they were refreshing and the hight point of this drama (maybe the only point?)

about the main characters: the construction of the female protagonist is terrible, almost non-existent, her personality is generic, the magic formula of cdramas: naive, clumsy and with little intelligence (it didn't work very well this time, I was really irritated with her in several moments). it bothered me a lot as she doesn't have her own development, lasting and well-structured achievements. everything involves the protagonist and his relationship with him.

yes, the male protagonist is cute and much deeper than the FL, but irritating at times. I really couldn't stand him talking about statistical data and stuffing math into everything anymore. besides being pretty unbearable at first.

about the secondary: they have an underdeveloped story (and even kind of boring, I confess) and the only people I really liked were the protagonist's sister and the grandfather of ML, who is a sweet. otherwise they weren't memorable and they didn't even have enough screen time for me to get attached.

overall conclusion: was one of the weakest crdramas I've ever watched, but I think it would work for someone looking for something cliche, fast and with a cute romance, but that's all.

it could've been nice but it's just boring

The genius Maths professor falling for the silly - but - cute - and - cheerful student is such an abused trope... It still could be ok since the actors are nice, but it drags way too much and the central plot is unnecessary entangled with other side stories. The main couple has little to zero chemistry, the ML repeatedly pointing out how dumb the FL is. And she is indeed! Failing in her studies, unable to keep a job or even to fry an egg (!).
I'm not sure if this was the writer's intention, but the drama seems a demonstration of the fact that smart men fall for stupid girls.
I dont think i can keep watching this nonsense till the end.

Toxic romance

Can drama makers stop romanticising student teacher relationships this stuff is creepy!!! I will never ever see this as love, don't even try selling it to me. A weird emotionaless older man that is a teacher falling for his student who seems to be the dumbest most generic fl that's annoying too. I am open minded but these dramas with man being a teacher a ceo creeping on a young girl that doesn't hold the same power or maturity is a very dangerous concept irl, I take drama as it is without thinking too much of it but this one really makes you think wtf?!? If I was the FL I wouldnt want me and my teacher to be in a relationship that's insane. Yeah trash of a drama I was drefting to cdramas since they seemed okay but honestly they only look good on the surface once you dig more it's just weird

grandpa is so lovely! Fear the one who doesn't plan love in their future.Lan went and locing Nuo bit by bit. lawyer is helping the two getting close to each oher haha. he wants her to move back in so much hahaha! I usually don't like characters like rhis butnthis might be the first drama that I gVE 10 out of 10! haha they are eating with people from law suit, shu called him her cousing while Nian said he is married right after yahahaha! She burns her feet, what a jokeas IF she as princess of a king. falls in the bathroom, cant stand ohh noo sh cant... suddenly she is in need of four feet.. they are way too preserved. it is kind of starting to ... imparience. someone has to get sich. haha.

Cute drama!

I love Miles Wei. I first saw Miles in Find Yourself and thought he was funny. Then I saw him in Count Your Lucky Stars and loved his selfless character. So I waited for Perfect and Casual to become available with English subtitles, so I could see Miles. I find his calm mannerism very charming. He pulls off the intellect well. Of course, he’s super handsome too. He has one of the most delicate faces, especially for a man. I didn’t have any expectations with this drama. I thought the story line was pretty unrealistic at the beginning but not annoying so I was able to keep watching because of Miles. It’s turning out to be a cute drama. Lovely and pure love story. No annoying or clumsy characters scenes. Would totally rewatch this for Miles alone. He was truly perfect in this role.

WASN'T INTRESTED

first of all I want to tell that I watch only the first 15 min of the drama @ the beginning and i dropped watching this drama. after some days i read some review those were very useful to me . and now i am giving my review.

here the story line is very interesting according to me . I love the characters that followed by the main leads . and also the plot gives many twist and turn in the story .
And from this we can learn many things which are related to many peoples life . there are many plot that drag between misunderstanding but here the plot was very strong between the ML and FL . that shows some connection toward the reality .

lighthearted, soothing, & wholesome; great when in the mood for something chill

I don't even know how many times I rewatched this drama since I first came across it. I watched it with my mom, who is never interested in watching dramas with me, and she enjoyed it so much that she re-watched it twice.

The thing I probably loved most about this story was how soothing it was. Everything from the colors (so many warm greens), to the music, pacing, characterization, and tone. It just had a great chill vibe.

The storyline was also very clean, which I appreciated, and heartwarming. More down-to-earth; not too melodramatic or overly silly. I did find the female lead whiny in the beginning, and the male lead rude -- but it just took some episodes for the characters to fully take shape. It didn't stick for long.

Absolutely LOVED grandpa and all his conspiring and kindness. The sister was a bit of a trip, but her development ended alright. Trust me when I tell you you'll want to watch it again.

Cute drama

This was the first drama by Wei Zheming that I've watched (and the first cdrama I've ever watched). The characters were cute, and the storyline was awesome. Normally, romance isn't my favourite genre, but after watching this, my perspective has changed quite a bit.

Perfect and Casual is about Yun Shu, a college student who stumbles into a series of unimaginable events because of her college professor, Zhang Sinian, a perfectionist who doesn't like mistakes and disorder. Because of the latter's grandfather's illness, the two are forced together and begin a rather bumpy relationship. However, as time passes, the two get closer together and start loving each other for real.

The FL did a pretty good job portraying her character, a college student who is ready to graduate. She is a very sweet character, but she does get annoying at times (but, at the same time, you will feel bad for her). She had quite the ups and downs in her journey throughout the drama, which makes the drama a whole lot more interesting. However, the only downside is that her crying doesn't seem natural enough, but it doesn't affect her character too much.

The ML also did an excellent job in this drama. The only reason why I found this drama is because of Call Me By Fire S3, where I immediately fell in love with Wei Zheming's cuteness. In the drama, he plays the role of a young college professor who is centered around perfectionism. His character may seem annoying and arrogant at first, but after a while, he will grow on you, especially during the moments he spends with the FL.

Overall, this drama is very good. The story was amazing, the acting was great, and this drama is definitely worth a rewatch!

Que belleza de drama, te hace sentir mariposas

Este es el drama que me hizo adicta a los dramas chinos, así que guarda un espacio especial en mi corazón.
Me gusto mucho el desarrollo de los personajes, la protagonista femenina es super linda pero sin ser incomoda. Ella es una persona dulce. Y el protagonista masculino ufff guapísimo, es serio pero dulce. La tensión entre ellos lo tienen a uno al borde del asiento, es de esos dramas que lo hacen a uno querer enamorarse.

Mi único problema fue que no me termino de convencer la pareja secundaria, pero aun así me gusto lo suficiente para ver todas sus escenas sin saltármelas.

La química entre los protagonistas es fantástica, da gusto verlos.
Si están buscando un drama profundo, este no es la mejor opción, pero si lo es si están buscando un drama romántico para ver y disfrutar.

The story and acting skills of other casts are supreme, 9/10. except for the lead female. BAD. I don't know how she gets the female lead. Even towards the end of the drama, where the male lead and female lead should fall for each other, I sense no romance feeling given out by the female lead. It's like a kid acting with adults who the acting skill level is not on par. I will totally rate 1/10 just for her acting skill.

Otherwise, else is great. The story is about a clumsy girl with a smart and cold male lead, where the male lead helps the female lead whenever she is in trouble.

¡El drama más perfecto y casual!

Simplemente me encantó, no sé cómo explicar el cariño que le agarré y le tengo a éste hermoso cdrama.
Me encantó el protagonista (Miles Wei, un actor chino super lindo que no entendía porque no protagonizaba, por fin se le hizo justicia, amé al profesor matemático perfecto zhan sinian) me encantó la canción del ending, me encantó la trama, me encantó la protagonista fiel a sus sentimientos, me encantó, me encantó, me encantó este drama, de verdad me gustó mucho.
A pesar de que el primer capítulo no me pareció la gran cosa y no causó una gran impresión en mi -(ya que estaba triste por haber acabado de terminar "My ID is Gagnam Beauty", no porque halla sido muy bueno el drama sino porque ya no vería a Cha Eun Woo)- aún así tenía un buen presentimiento de Perfect and Casual y acerté.
Creo que es un drama nada extraordinario pero nose explicar lo mucho que lo disfruté, ya lo he dicho mucho pero en serio me encantó y lo volvería a ver.
Si te gustan los matrimonios por contrato éste drama te va a gustar, Tu eres mi destino y pleno verano lleno de amor son otros dramas que he visto con esta trama, aunque me gustaron mucho creo que prefiero perfect and casual.
Este es un drama perfecto y casual, en el que prácticamente no existe triángulo amoroso, si lo hay, pero es casi irrelevante e inexistente. Por cierto, ¿Cómo el abuelo se enteró del matrimonio por contrato?.
Aunque las historias secundarias causaban muy poco interés en mi (y es precisamente por eso que no le doy 10, incluso lo actores son muy poco conocidos) debo decir que quería que Lu Yu fuera perseguido por Yun Lan.

Neither are perfect but they are perfect for each other

9.5/10 is my rating. This is a 2020 Chinese romantic comedy drama with 24, 45 minute episodes.

First I will provide a synopsis then review.

Synopsis

Zhang Si Zian (Wei Zhe Ming) is a genius level math professor who is handsome, wealthy and generally seems to have it all. His personality is on the coldly logical side and his emotional intelligence is only slightly better than a robot. Yun Shu (Xu Ruo Han) Is almost the direct opposite she is so warm, calm and caring that she is easily swindled. She has to work hard for academic success. A series of unfortunate events for Yun Shu leads her to rely on Si Zian for a place to live. Si Zian’s grandfather meets Yun Shun in a chance encounter and thinks this ray of sunshine would be the perfect match for his grandson who lacks warmth in his life. Now that Yun Shu is no longer a student, they have no reason not to please Si Zian’s terminally ill grandfather’s wish and strike a deal for a secret comtract marriage. What they find is grandfather may have had it right about them all along, they balance each other beautifully. But love that starts under such unusual circumstances is never easy and the two must decide if they want their comtract to become the real deal.

Review

This is a well paced, relatively straight forward plot, with a lot if really engaging characters.
The way the lead couple compliment each other makes it easy to see why they would fall in love. When she thinks she is not right because rhey are too different the grandfather says two parallel lines never intersect. That was such a profound and brilliant way to state it. Being too different can be a problem if it is not complimentary but being exactly the same can be boring. I like that having the Male Lead’s support made her absolutely flourish. And the grandfather as the match maker was cute! He fell in love with her as a granddaughter candidate and knew she was perfect for his grandson who needed someone sweet and warm to offset his cooly logical personality. It ended happy and all major story lines were wrapped up.

Spoilers
Practically perfect but it did end with some question marks. Did the grandfather ever go for treatment? Was the reconciliation of her two best friends as a couple successful? What happened with her webtoon career because it was taking off then she did not go abroad so how bad was it derailed? It would have been good to see her sister and her actor boyfriend fully together. It ended with him on relationship “probation.”
