Older male lead becomes young
Tries to develop a relationship with his son (and his daughter in 18 Again)
The difference is that the romance is between his wife in 18 Again whilst Mr Back is with an employee at his company

Both the leads reconnect with the people relevant to his life, in his two different stages in life. Both dramas have a slice-of-life vibe to it.

- FL becomes a teenager after being an adult
- Her brain goes to her teenage years not her body
- FL's relationship gets rekindled
- A story about regrets

Both couples have similar misunderstandings due to having married young and “wasted their youth” for/on each other. Both couples realize they still love each other and only resolve misunderstandings (and understand each other) after they part. No serious second lead love triangles. The supporting cast and friends are funny.

The similar points between shows are highliting the married life of female and male leads couple.
Female leads who were a devoted wife but unlucky in their married life.
Female leads who gave up their career in order to raise their childs and being a loyal housewife.
Second chance who let the female leads to practice their preferred career (journalist/doctor) after struggling with male leads.
Female lead who met in their journeys the second male leads who seem interested in their characters.

It takes another Masterpiece to take you out of the slump, doesn't it?
I could be talking about you after finishing either drama and are trying to find something to fill in the void which was left by these ALMOST PERFECT drama journeys!

18 Again, like Flower of Evil is a heartwarming MELODRAMA full of heartbreaks. Painful cracks to Beautiful mends, even tho there's no action, chase scenes or thriller, there's still a huge amount of beautiful scenes of care, sympathy and extremely meaningful family moments! There's also child upbringing theme in both and the realization of what's the most important to one only after one's about to lose those all!

What's more similar is the way both drama are executed! They use flashback scenes to show the viewers the most bare, unmasked pure feelings of the main characters and dive into the episode to further explain the butterfly effect of those past actions and how they in a way become a guide and also comfort to keep them on track and live through today just well! In a way, those flashbacks are the most unforgettable gem of moments of the shows!

BOTH ARE A MUST-WATCH for fans of ALL KINDS! Even if you didn't like one of them like I do, you might still LOVE the other!

Both of shows include one of parents who reenter the high school/college life after many years being married and raising their childs.

The main common points the couples are about to be divorced and parents (female in 20 again and male in 18 again) are in the same college/school of their childs.

Female leads are trying their luck to study the major she wanted in 20 again and the job she dreamed before marriage in 18 again.

Both of female leads having same character of innocence and being criticized by their surroundings for being older than their colleagues.

Shows of second chance in life and love theme but fantasy genre in 18 again where the male lead return to his old young self to rectify all his mistakes.

Similar in the way that an older male gets to somewhat relive youth.
They're very different concepts though, because The Dude In Me involves body swap.

They both have a feel good - light hearted type drama but have elements that make us think and cry with the characters. The characters have flaws and try to become better version of themselves. These dramas are about giving second chances and about how being expressive matters. Talking about what you actually feel should not be something to be embarassed of. They both gives us lessons and reality checks.
