This is one of those rare dramas where the cast, their chemistry, the location and the OST all comes together to make a perfectly fluff filled rom com. Yes, the story has some points that aren't entirely believable, but then is any story based on 'love at first sight' truly rooted in reality? I watch dramas for a break from reality, so I suspended my imagination for 10 perfectly made episodes and thoroughly enjoyed this drama. And now I have a new favorite japanese actor (Takeru Satoh), and a new favorite japanese band. (Trust me, the OST is amazing and you have to check out other songs by them, like Pretender).
If you saw the poster and were immediately drawn to it, then stop contemplating and just watch the drama right now!!

If you liked dramas like Love in Tokyo, you will probably like this one, I loved the story, because I like when the man is tough and difficult to like people and the sweet and warm girl makes him change. I think the backstory of the male protagonist is amazing, his personality and story are perfect matched, now about the female one, I just think the story was a bit poor if compared to the male one, because she just love him because of a preconception of him, she doesn't know him at all, and she continue to humiliate herself to get to him, this just always bothers me in the japanese dramas like this, in the most part the woman just have an huge love for the male for no reason at all, it is too shallow I guess, but when things start to work between they, it just turn out to be amazing and very romantic, I'm just sad they had to hurry up a bit with the story in the end, I wish they could have made it more detailed, but it was a good one anyway.

Wow, I am just mesmerized on how this drama has been made. Beautiful story line. Even the side couples got to show their part. Being a medical theme, they managed to show different patients and their bond with Sakura and Sensai. Chemistry between Sakura and Sensai was amazing. Each time when she called out ' Sensai' , with her bubbly smile ...just gave my heart a jump. I like the part where Sakura firmly believed to chase after Sensa. Thankfully there wasn't any annoying characters.
Music was amazing, I have fallen in love with it. Last not the least, I loved Sakuras and Sensais team 'Cardiology dept'
Will definitely watch it again with no regrets.

LOVE IT!

I am absolutely in love with this drama oh my cat God! Because I started watching this at midnight, every episode I just keep internally screaming. Gosh all those butterflies in my stomach wouldn't go away. The FL and ML are just TOO CUTE! I would actually rewatch this again and again. I love this drama not just because of the cuteness of the cast, but also because of how much I relate medically to this. Those scenes with the patients, it keeps hitting home. As a nurse, this really motivated me to work hard again and relieved my motivation. This was so helpful for me as I wasn't sure with what I was doing with my life. I really commend the staff who worked hard to make this, as well as the actors and actresses. Kudos to everyone and thank you so much! Love how this is cardiology ward based, defo hits home hahaha. This is my first review on public here on MD - it speaks a lot on how much I love this drama.

P.S. UGH I LOVE YOU SATO TAKERU!!!!!!!!

This dorama deals with the doctors' professional and personal lives which I like because it humanizes them. It also digs deeper into the patients' story, reminding the viewers that there's more to a patient than his sickness. Although our female lead could get things wrong, I love how she uses her heart in looking after the patients. She knows a lot of things other doctors/nurses don't because she doesn't only use her head but also her heart in caring for them. On the other hand, our hero has an emotional baggage but being with the heroine makes him more open and willing to try. I haven't finished watching this yet but I have no bad comment so far.

If you like tsundere male lead, then this one is. I haven't seen Takeru in this type of role so it was a surprise. Though the way he changes his tone voice was interesting. I guess to match the role of Tendo. The female lead is not really stupid and can do her job. It's my first time watching this actress, she's quite good, especially at the comedic scenes, great timing. Although she sometimes looks like a kid beside the Takeru.

Story-wise, it's cute. Easily binge-able drama. The drama mainly focus on Sakura's growth, both as a nurse and a woman.

This drama is truthfully quite silly. Much of the viewership in dramaworld is past stories about female leads chasing the male lead around hoping he'll fall for them. I'm not really over this type of story as long as it can be done in a way that's not over-dramatic or requires a truly awful male lead or a female lead with no worthwhile personality traits (or worse, Both). But I don't necessarily gravitate towards these stories anymore either. But as silly as this drama can seem, it's also quite charming. And swoony. And cute. And laugh out loud funny.

Off the bat, you have to respect the female leads determination and drive, both in love and in work. This is one of the things that keeps this drama from being totally grating. The female lead has a major crush on the male lead, and she pursues him doggedly. But she also takes being a nurse seriously, and cares about doing well at her job.

The male lead is perfect, and I will not complain about him. (Look. Kairi is just way too good at being smoldering and brooding and adorable and unexpectedly moved by Nanase all at the same time. Also, the kisses are on point.)

The only thing that would have made this drama better would have been for the writers to ex the secondary couples. I didn't enjoy anything about them. They felt like the writers trying to shove as many age-gap couples in as they could, whether they should or not, and neither couple really has any reasonable story or plot reason for being together.

So in conclusion, An Incurable Case of Love is quite silly, but it's also a whole lot of fun. And now I want to read the manga, lol.

i...I can't believe that it's over from the first time I saw this drama I knew it was gonna be good and honestly I don't regret watching it. It made me laugh, sad, mad and it made me feel happiness honestly if you still haven't watched it then I recommend you do because it has romance and doctor stuff in it. I am grateful to every cast that played in it because without them it wouldn't be the same, they all made it so special. Even though it ended I won't ever forget the special feeling it gave me and especially THE THEME SONG SONG!!! It's so good like I downloaded it. Anyway thank you so so so much for making a beautiful drama and I won't ever forget it.

A cute romance about a Heroine who falls for a Demon. Or, a chaotic but sweet and kind nurse who falls for a tsundere doctor with a heart of gold. It was interesting to see these characters grow, her maturing as both a woman and a nurse and him finally opening up after having lost the woman he loved many years before.

I get that Nanase's chaotic personality might be too much for some people - my mother included - but I liked that about her, that despite being clumsy and making a fool of herself on a regular basis, she just kept going, she never gave up, determined to become better, to learn and grow - and she does. She proves that even if you aren't gifted, a natural born genius, perseverance goes a long way, that you simply need to pick yourself up and do it again and again until you learn.

Another thing that I loved was that when Tendo agreed to become Nanase's boyfriend, he was all in. He didn't treat her any differently, he just loved her and supported her and helped her achieve her goals.

Success Story of a Stalker Girl

Ok I know I'm being a bit harsh on Sakura Nanase. She didn't technically stalk Tendon, she only obsessed over him for 5 years, then went to work at the same hospital as he does, lived (accidentally) right next to him, etc. Cute, right? Yes!...mostly :)

Sakura is an interesting character. I don't mean she's interesting as a person, I mean she's frustratingly incompetent and incomprehensibly simple, but Mone the actress is so likeable, she somehow sold this character for me. With her charm, I can kind of see why Tendou fell for her. But if she was a real person, she's exactly that annoyingly bubbly incessantly lively coworker who is liked by everyone and fails at everything and needs help every time and you even feel bad for getting mad at her even though it would be justified to be mad at her. I don't know about you, but this kind of coworker gives me stress.

But there's always someone for everyone, and Sakura has 3 suitors pining for her, including our ML, handsome tsundere doctor Tendou. Now he is an interesting character, and by interesting I mean I don't understand him. He's nice and gentle to his patients, but curt and sometimes outright rude to everyone else, and especially to our FL Sakura. It does help to highlight how good of a doctor he is, but it wasn't until episode 10 (the last ep) that I believed he felt anything genuine for Sakura. Usually tsundere characters are swoony because we get to see the soft side that they hide from the world, but we very rarely get to see things from Tendou's perspective, so he's more or less a mystery, a walking fanservice, till the end (that face! Those kisses!)

Speaking of kisses, I wish the director helped Mone with her dead fish/Park Shin Hye syndrome, because it felt like Sato was kissing her all by himself without any reciprocation...

This drama is the first jdrama that feels like a kdrama to me, in the sense that they learned all the good and all the bad from kdrama about romance. Self sacrificing second male lead? Check. Shameless second female lead? Check. (Thankfully both arcs were brief). Noble idiocy? Check. Truck of doom? Check. Random "one year abroad" separation? Check. But all the great push and pull typical of kdrama is there as well, so maybe I shouldn't complain too much.

In short, I don't regret watching this drama, but I also don't know why or how I finished it. That's actually how I would describe the drama core story/relationship as well: neither of them probably knows why or how they end up together, but they probably also won't regret it.

"Baaaka..."

This J-dorama was very... ~shojo. I don't know if this is based on a manga or not, but I've read alot of them and this concept is exactly like that. So, whatever tropes you have in mind, it will happen. All of them.

It's been awhile since I last saw that kind of a happy-go-lucky FL. She's overly confident with her love interest and expresses that shamelessly. She doesn't care that everyone knows, she's happily grinning whenever someone talks about it. The whole staff is even encouraging her - though indeed in an earnest way and without any ulterior motives. (If I had a crush on a colleague and everyone openly knew about it, I would hide in my locker for a year or something.). She's also clumsy and drifts off to lalaland during work. If I had to work with her, she would be my worst nightmare >.<

>>> This represents the whole absurdity of the drama - plus the non-existing hierarchy between nurses and doctors (I don't mean showing off who the boss is but maintaining certain boundaries).

NEVERTHELESS... this was still a very entertaining watch and a guilty pleasure-watch done right.

Pros:
1) The characters were enjoyable. They were overall good-natured people, and even though one or two made a dick move at some point, they held it low-key.

2) The medical stuff. I'm a medical assistant, so I'm extra strict on these things. I won't vouch for everything, esp. not for the cardiological cases, but most of the simple medical tasks were done quite right.

3) The FL somehow managed to grow on me. At first she gave off a child's vibe but as the story went on, it gradually improved. She got better at her work and she also became somewhat (pheromone-induced) beautiful. You know what they say, love makes you beautiful.

4) Skinship!
This is something (as far as I can compare) J-doramas are partially better at than K-dramas. When there's a hug, they huuug, when there's a kiss, it IS a kiss. No dead-fish peck, no lip-caressing, no tongue-digging. Just a normal kiss. When they want to brush the other one's hair, they don't hold back as if it's some super fragile glass-carpaccio or something. They simply caress that damn head. They don't futilely try to put a single strand of hair behind the other one's ear, that eventually falls back onto the cheek anyway.

5) No overdone slow-motion.

6) Some things felt a lot more natural than in K-dramas. First of all, I think that Dr. Tengo Kairi (Sato Takeru) was the most authentic character in this. His behavior never felt exaggerated and I synced with his annoyance every single time. Furthermore the vibe that a couple radiates after a certain time. The shyness disappears and gets replaced with cocky confidence. That's what you want to see in a drama.

7) There's Sato Takeru. Period.

AN INSTANT CLASSIC

If you were to judge this drama based on the manga, its original material, or even manga artist`s other work, then what you would find is a slew of typical shoujo tropes and cliché after cliché. However, this is not the case here. Though I like the manga itself, and mangaka`s other work, even I have to admit that her strong point is definitely not her storytelling ability. Thus, I would say that this drama is that rare, special case of what happens when you get talented writers and cast to do their thing. And oh boy, did they do a great job. In fact, I`m quite positive that this drama, along with a handful of others, proved that Japanese romantic dramas still have a lot to offer. Apart from the writing, which I won`t get tired of pointing out just how good it actually is(if the writers were to stick to and/or base their screenplay solely on the manga, this would`ve barely grazed the 6s), the acting is top notch.

Can we just refer to COUPLE CHEMISTRY as Mone and Takeru?Because that`s the perfect way to describe them in this show. Takeru Satoh has proved himself to be a real acting force and he doesn`t disappoint here either. And Mone Kamishiraishi is a real positive discovery for me as well. Now, I do have to advise people not to refer to the character of Kairi Tendo as tsundere. The reason for that being is that, first off I hate male tsunderes(even though I like female ones) and I feel like that would be doing him a huge disservice. From my point of view, male tsunderes are quite selfish, closed off, hard to deal with and petty. However, though Kairi is hard to deal with, he`s also caring, pushes Sakura to work hard and not because of her infatuation with him, but because he wants to see her grow and suceed from the GET-GO(not just when they get together, which I feel like is exactly what makes him different than a typical tsundere, as there is no benefit for him there), which people mistake for tyrannical mistreatment. In reality, Kairi is mature, driven, takes no crap from anyone and is decisive and supportive. He`s a real life husband material. On the other hand, his character plays off of Sakura Nanase really well, who is so likeable that you won`t care that she`s a bit airheaded and that her intentions aren`t really pure at the start. Sakura Nanase is what happens when you do a clumsy, clueless but willing to grow character right. Along the way she starts to genuinely want to help people and become a formidable nurse and that aspiration becomes completely separate from her wanting to date her Kairi. Oh, and does she ever grow.

Now, I`ve already seen comparisons between this drama and Mischievous Kiss, which is fair, as both couple dynamics seem similar.BUT, and there`s a big but. This relationship is infinitely better. As in, spades. Naoki and Kotoko might`ve been the blueprints, but Kairi and Sakura are that ultimate form. Because of one simple point. SUPPORT and CHANGE. I never really got and I still don`t get people`s obsession with Naoki and Kotoko, as their relationship is very volatile, with barely any affection and encouragement. We don`t see major change in any of the characters, and if we do see some, they are usually forced into it. And I just always hated how, up until the very end Kotoko always prostrated herself for a little bit of Naoki`s love, which we`re supposed to find inspiring?NO. Let me tell you what is though. Kairi being a stern but caring human being from the start, always having Sakura in his line of vision to make sure that she`s doing things right and we see him actually changing(not for one day or a few hours) because of her enthusiasm and optimism. And it`s GRADUAL. It doesn`t just happen because she insisted enough. In the same time Sakura took to realize what her actual dream is, and that it doesn`t only involve Kairi(which she proves by moving away and doing a fine job being a nurse in her hometown without him), Kairi learns how to communicate his feelings and he does so readily, we can SEE it. I just love their progression as a couple, it`s so lovely and healthy. There`s no unnecessary jealousy and even Sakura is a bit more mature than most of her shoujo airheaded counterparts. And there is actual communication and no hysterics, which is refreshing to see, always.

Other actors do a fine job as well, but don`t be mistaken, this is definitely a SAKURA and KAIRI show. Now, as for the drawbacks, I would say that the character of the twin sister isn`t really important nor necessary, which they seem to realize quickly as well. And I feel like I would`ve liked a real sleepover scene between the main couple(yes call me a pervert). Overall, this is one top tier Japanese drama and though it does rely on some well established clichés, you won`t care because it`s just that delightful. And rewatchable as well.
