Two wasted years of waiting. Thanks, worst webtoon ever!

Season 1 wasn’t like a masterpiece but I was drawn to it because of curiosity about Jojo and Suno’s star crossed relationship. Her reason for breaking up with him literally made no sense but whatever, she’s young...and season 2 shows me she’s still stupid lol

Whoever was the decision maker on this season must not have seen season 1 or doesn’t know how to make good television. I wouldn’t put this show on your resume.

What a waste of time. It’s like they look at the list of things that most people like and do the complete opposite, for fun(???). Safe yourself and DO NOT WATCH!!

Bad ending

The ending was. Atrocious it was horrible it was one of the worst endings I’ve ever seen I’d rather watch cheese in a trap over and over again till I die then we watch love alarm season two. I’d rather have to see some of the worst K dramas in history then re-watch love alarm season two because Love alarm season two ending was so bad I demand a new season a season where the ending becomes better or season we’re all everyone gets what they want. I was so excited to watch season two but left as soon as the first episode I wasted my hours waiting for days I mean stayed up for 10 horribly maybe for some people did it and horribly but for me and most of the fan I feel as though and horribly for all of us

Love Alarm as a whole lacks any development. This season, just continues with adults relying on an app to tell their feelings (DO BETTER). And the transition into the second season completely disregards what happened in the previous episode. That tension for it to never be recalled again. Tsk tsk.

The acting was alright. Though this is not a show to show the potential of their good acting. The characters are so one dimensional, it's hard to root for them. I felt personality coming more out of my left toe than any of the characters combined.

This is the show that you want to shut your brain off too and watch your typical girl with no parents who is miraculously loved by a boy with daddy issues and a nice boy who's just trying his best.

EXCEPT THAT NICE BOY WINS HAHAHAYAH

LETS FUCKING GOOOOO HYEYOUNG MY MAN.

What a win. I'm taking that dub.

No smile at all

The thing that sucks the most in this drama is .....
IN SEASON 1 SUN OH SAYS JOJO IS PRETTY when jojo is taking about scenery
but in season 2 they used hye young to say that part . I mean how can they do that.....
and I still dont understand why the hell did jojo break up with sun oh....
and ost is good and only one out of all and you dont get to listen it until last episode....
and the drama is a bit forced and characters deserve more
and it would be nice if they stopped sad scenes of sun oh and used sun oh and uk ju[ or something i dont remember sun oh girlfriend's name]

Good concept, but disappointing overall.

I found the concept of the 'Love Alarm' to be quite interesting, yet the character personalities were so frustrating at times that I would just stop watching. Jo Jo (Kim So Hyun) is specially troublesome as the story revolves around her not knowing who is best, and viewer is stuck watching the same questionable decisions over and over. Sun Oh (Song Kang) is equally if not more frustrating as his character is a whining child who forces his presence upon people. The saving grace of this trio is Hye Young (Jung Ga Ram) who plays the 'good guy', and is the only main character that I can relate with. The story engulfs these three main characters, with the story rarely moving to the support characters, that I wish were focused on more.

For me the soundtrack makes or breaks whether I'll finish watching a drama. There are a couple of tracks that are quite good, but one especially continues to give me chills; good chills. 'In my little mind' by Hodge and its placement within scenes really sung true with me re-enforcing the characters emotions and trust within themselves. The other tracks include quirky background instrumentals and tranquil singles, pretty standard.

Would I recommend this to anyone? Probably not, it's not for everyone.
Would I watch this again? Probably not.
Would I listen to the soundtrack? Yes, there a few gems that I listen to now and again.

Love Alarm Season 2 - A Missed Opportunity

Love Alarm Season 2 had the potential to build on the intriguing concept introduced in the first season but ultimately falls short in delivering a compelling narrative. It's puzzling why there even is a second season, as it struggles to live up to the promise of its originality.

One of the most significant disappointments with this season is the plot, which feels bland and unoriginal. It often seems like the writers are attempting to take the story in an exciting direction, but they consistently fail to execute it effectively. The potential for a fresh and innovative take on modern romance is there, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Viewers are left wanting more substance and depth in the storyline.

Character development is another area where Love Alarm Season 2 falters. The characters remain disappointingly one-dimensional, and their motivations and personalities fail to evolve in a meaningful way. For a series that relies on its characters to drive the emotional core, this lack of depth is a letdown. Viewers find it challenging to empathize or connect with the characters when they are so underdeveloped.

The unrealistic nature of the drama is yet another flaw that hinders the overall viewing experience. While some suspension of disbelief is expected in any romantic drama, Love Alarm Season 2 often pushes the boundaries of plausibility. The technology behind the Love Alarm app, initially an exciting concept, becomes increasingly convoluted and hard to believe, detracting from the story's authenticity.

In conclusion, Love Alarm Season 2 is a missed opportunity that fails to capitalize on its initial potential. While the premise of the show is intriguing, the lackluster plot, underdeveloped characters, and an unrealistic narrative make it difficult to invest in the series. It's regrettable that a show with such a unique concept falls short in delivering a compelling and immersive storyline. Viewers looking for a well-crafted romantic drama may want to consider other options.

A story that had so much potential but was wasted due to poor writing

I stole Sun-Oh’s smile away from him.. just so I wouldn't feel any pain - Jojo

The above quote pretty much sums up my feelings and the show as a whole. The cinematography is not good at all compared to Season 1 and the plot is just a worse version of the love triangle that was developed in Season 1. We got no proper closure or anywhere near a good apology or explanation. We had the wrong ship sail. Don't even get me started on her use of the spear. So cowardly and something only Jojo would do. That one scene between Jojo and Brian in Episode 5 summed up everything about Jojo.

You used the shield to prevent Sun-Oh's Love Alarm from ringing and you used the spear to ring Hye Young's Love Alarm. You lie for your convenience. - Brian

No truer words have ever been said in this show. Well maybe that Gulmi quote, but that's neither here nor there.

Nothing went right this season. Not even the side stories. After the SunJo ship failed to sail we should've spent less time on the love triangle and spent the time to actually develop the romance between HyeJo and YukOh. The ending felt super unsatisfying just due to very minimal development in the two relationships. We didn't even get to see Jojo's full journey on her path of reconciling with the past and healing. We got to see the end result in the final half of Episode 6 but it just isn't as emotional as it could have been. The same thing goes for the very last scene showing us viewers the times when Jojo rang Hye Young's Love Alarm unconsciously. It just didn't hold that much weight due to the relationship feeling forced from lack of development. But I've got to give credit where credit is due as those scenes were beautiful. Just doesn't hold too much weight as they could've held if we had good writing.

Going back to the point on the development of the relationships. This is one reason I wished we had the normal 8 episodes. To delve more into the relationships so that scenes stated earlier could hold more weight. I mean come on, YukOh was pretty damn cute not gonna lie. That final scene between the two of them was so heartbreaking and wholesome. I just want Sun Oh to be happy and Yuk Jo as well. I've grown to love this ship more after the writers decided to completely ruin my SunJo ship. Lastly, for my final remarks on this show, we really did need more scenes dedicated to the building of HyeJo for it to have anywhere near as much meaning, weight, or satisfaction that SunJo had.

Oh yeah, one more thing I would like to add that I just came to realize. Remember how in Start-Up the writers made Do San explicitly say that he has changed instead of actually showing it on screen? Yeah, that same exact thing happened here. When you force a character to say something that you can't convince the audience through said character's actions you know you are doing something. I want to actually see Jojo fall for Hye Young through their interactions and I want to see development. I don't want to hear not only her but Love Alarm through Duk Gu to tell me that it was her own volition to choose Hye Young.

While on the argument between choosing what your heart tells you and what a program tells you, I am glad that Netflix found a way to insert it into this drama with the right answer to the argument. What I'm mad about though was the execution in which the argument was inserted. One it was done super late into the final episode and two there are a lot more nuances to the argument than Netflix lets on. Yes, it may have been her own true volition, but behind every volition, there is a motive. We may never know what her motive was behind choosing Hye Young (outside of what the writers tell us through dialogue) so can we really make the case that she followed her heart? Not really. She may have done because she truly did love Hye Young or maybe she was just continuing to run away from her feelings.

Overall just not worth my time and left a bad taste in my mouth. Still can't believe we waited 2 years for this mess. Sigh.

To end this review, let me sign off with one of the truest quotes ever said by a side character that I hated for most of the show.

Jojo doesn’t do anything, but she has two guys taking turns ringing her Love Alarm here and then - Gulmi

I ABSOLUTLY HATED IT

wtf!!! I don't usually write reviews but this one totally deserved it,

season 1 was cute , intense, all of love and excitement I absolutely loved it! I waited 1 year for this bull**it like seriously what is this crap , I think I can speak for all of us when I say we all wanted sun oh and jojo to be together, they had such a great chemistry, BUT NOOOOO the writers decided to end it with jojo and hye yong, through all this season I was so mad and stressed out, hoping that a plot twist happened, the script didn't even make sense, jojo was so cold ,hypocrite , and immature, like frrr I felt so bad for sun oh,

WELL AT THE END THIS IS NOT WORTH WATCHING ITS LIKE THE BADDESTTT K DRAMA I HAVE EVER SEENN

A bit disappointed

I started watching because of Kim Sohyun, love her so much.

The first season was great. The second felt like a complete different drama.

I still don’t understand why Jojo couldn’t be with Sunoh. It was never explained.

I get that Hyeheong was a nice guy and all, but their relationship felt so forced. Also, so weird that he went after his friend’s ex....

Sunoh’s end was a bit sad, in my opinion. Yukjo was nice but how sad is it to force yourself to like someone just because the person you love is with someone else?

On another note, what’s with the brightness?? I honestly thought my tv was crazy

not a big fan of season 1, and the only reason i watched this season because i want to know the ending. it was too slow and boring for me. the only thing i like about this series was its cinematography and the thing about depending on application to figure out someone's feelings. putting aside, who in which team, the storyline goes no where and i feel like i could skipped to the last episode and still understand the whole thing. and yesss luckily it was only 6 episodes, if it was more than that, i bet i'll drop it or skip some episodes. tbh, i'm not in anyone's team, i could understand whoever jojo chose. so it wasn't an utterly disappointment or excitement for me. anyways, it was boring and slow, and i don't like slow dramas.

hmm so yeah I don't have much to say, to be honest I don't even know why I'm writing this I never write reviews but I'm so frustrated please- I waited almost two years for this? to be honest I didn't expect sun-oh to end with jojo because of the trailer( it seemed obvious who would be endgame) but still?? what did they do to sun-oh's character, please they destroyed it completely. As I said I didn't even expect them to be endgame but at least they could've made jojo explain herself to sun-oh, he deserved that. They just destroyed their relationship and his character. About hye young and jojo i don't know lol I didn't really feel chemistry. About the vibe of this season, I don't know honestly? It seemed like I was watching a whole different drama and it felt so weird. Also the brother of guk-do and the whole storyline??lmao I don't even know what to say. I feel like 6.5 is too much but yeah, attachment issues i guess lol, am I listening to falling again while writing this?yup anyway let's watch season one and pretend this one didn't happen.

The disappointment was unbearable.

I was so excited for the release of this series after such a long wait, for us diehard Love Alarm fans I wish I had researched the reviews before watching, I realized it had a total different direction when they jumped shipped straight into another time period and theme the first episode, I wouldn't recommend this train wrecked the storyline is a waste, my suggestion would be to stop at Love Alarm and pretend like Love Alarm 2 was never released. I'm so disappointed I can't properly express my true feelings. Just beware it's not the same.
