I'm glad I watched Season 2

Although it has been probably been a year since I watched S1, I do not remember it leaving such an impact on me. I connected much more with this season, with the characters and the trauma cases they had. But in general, the goodness of the seasons are pretty similar.

There are a few shortcomings to this season and its plot, but it certainly did not overwhelm all its great aspects. First of all, I believe it was highly character driven. It was obvious that SuSam, Eun Tak Sam and Mr. Jang got much more screen time this season because they were loved and appreciated and I generally enjoyed their parts.
Something I was very happy about in this season is that Kim Sabu is much much much softer. In the first season, I found him frustrating and unrealistic many a times. After having been through that, I believe he now understood that it is much better to communicate with people. He always gave well-headed comments and feedback. I was satisfied with his role and happy how he got along with everyone. It makes him deserve all the love and respect he receives. Although he pushes himself too much, and does not treat himself the same way he treats others, it seemed okay.

As many people have stated, this is not a romantic drama, the main couple really put off their relationship for as long as possible, and when they got to it, it seemed fake and very untouching. He liked her from their university days, and I believe his love for her didn't change much. She acknowledged his interest from the beginning, and she acts upon it, but I didnt see her once even looking like she actually likes him romantically. I am not sure if it's the character's way or the actress's. Honestly, Lee Sung Kyung acted in the exact same way as she acted in Kim Bok Joo, and even though it's probably her charm, in my opinion she acts with her face. All cutesy and pretty all the time. She is very conscious of how she looks, and what her face is like, so her expressions are somehow much more external. I am no expert, but it's the style of acting pretty people tend to have more. (Ex: Lee Dong Wook).

On the other hand, baby boy Ahn Hyo Seop was very in touch with his character's emotions and background. He was always tearing up and having all these tiny expressions swell up from inside, and that made me feel like he was a wonderful actor. I enjoyed watching him throughout the drama, especially when he cared and worried about Kim Sabu.

Lastly, Park Min Guk was the most relatable character to me. From the beginning, it was obvious he is a good man internally. He wasn't the blind, stupid villian like Dr. Yang and Do Yoon Wan. It's just this man has studied hard, and worked hard to build a name for himself, and he knows people have great expectations for him. But then he is torn between his inner voice of conscience, and people's view of him. It seemed like he truly is a weak and soft person on the inside, and he can in no way battle Kim Sabu, and no matter how much he realized it, he tried to still fight back. Problem is, he was fighting in all the wrong ways, and heading into the wrong direction because of Yoon Wan and whatnot. I really wished the writer redeemed his character earlier than that, and gave him more chance to show his true self. I loved seeing him taking responsibility and being a true doctor. It was such a huge and sudden jump that he also aims to turn the hospital into a trauma center. As an actor and a character I believe he deserved a bit more redemption. When he came back into his office crying, I felt happy to finally see him like this, but also very torn because he is just a very good person with very bad decisions. I hope I get to see this character in more main roles in the future.

Do I wish for third season? Not really. But I would still watch it if it comes. I really hope they pay more attention to the plot and leave Do Yoon out because I am sick of him.

I really didn’t know what to expect from the season 2 because the ML and FL weren’t going to be the same but I turned in anyway for Kim Sabo and I really loved it. I loved the side stories of the patient and I love they incorporated rape, domestic abuse, family sucide etc. Those stories made me cry a lot. The hospital staff relationship is gold... GOLD I tell you! And they way they recruit ppl into their family of love has me awwwwwwwwwwning. Lol I was calling for mr koo sometimes before nurse oh to take the bad guys away hahahaha. The character development was really amazing here just like in the first season. Just send all the broken, doctors to master Kim and he will fix them all!

Ps: I found the story of dr shim very interesting I wish we could have learnt more about her, her divorce and her kid.... she was mysterious... not bad but not necessarily good.

Ps2: I liked dr bae lol. The fact that his father is who he is and dr bae is just a puppy dr is so cute.

PS3: the ml and fl in this drama weren’t as mature as the ones in the season one but we got our signature steamy kiss anyway lol. I like the ml dark past he really had it rough and finally got a father in master Kim.

I ll miss the originals and the additionalS to Dolnam hospital.

Watched both season 1 and 2, I'm not sure if I can move on from it.

Delve into the constant war of money, politics, and power vs. actually being a good doctor to save lives between Godae and Doldam Hospital. This show outlines the political wars in the political world like no other, and gives you a fine line of what's right and wrong, but it's the grey area that lies within the characters. The character depth is phenomenal!

Master Kim (Teacher Kim) is a doctor who left the grand white walls of Godae Hospital and now works in a much more small and older Doldam Hospital, choosing to save lives over money and power. Throughout each season, the main couples are surgeons he takes under his wing and guides them in his tsundere roundabout way through their personal hardships and obstacles they must face, along with other supporting characters.

These characters are not going to be your immediate favorites when you first meet them. Each of them go through mass changes of growth and learning in Doldam Hospital where they learn who they are and where they stand and what it means to be a good doctor. At the end of each season you'll find yourself grinning.

The "romantic" in the title is a little misleading. The romance in both seasons are subplots than the overall arching storyline. But it's the overarching storyline that keeps you watching, you'll be on the edge of your seat wanting to know how it all ends, who'll end up on top, a realistic look at good vs. evil.

A beautiful mix of everything!

I stumbled upon this because I was looking for more Lee Sung Kyung and this popped up! I remember kind of passing by it and thinking the title was odd but boy am I glad that I watched this! I feel like I'm kind of opposite from people- I didn't watch the first season before this one so I think I can have a more subjective view of this story. It's full of mixed reviews but has a generally high rate and I wholeheartedly agree!

STORY
You really don't need to watch the first season to understand- I just read up on the wiki page about Kim Sabu and I was fine! A lot of people mentioned that the story can be hard to follow because the storytelling is non-linear. It's definitely a little confusing- especially if it's your first time seeing non-linear storytelling, but I think it was very effective. There were some portions that could be improved- such as when Park Min Gook becomes the president- boy that part got a little confusing- but otherwise, I think the non-linear way of telling the story was able to put different scenes together that needed to be seen together. It also creates the feeling of never really knowing what time it is- and I think that's very important. In a hospital, you can lose track of time because of the business of the whole place, and it really portrayed that pretty well and I appreciated it a lot. Some people also mentioned that scenes would cut from emotional to happy scenes, not allowing us time to really digest it- for me I generally had a good view of it. It gives off the feeling of one person's happy moment can be sad for another, and shows the duality of time and emotions. It also helped me not brood for too long. However, there were some times where it would have been more appropriate to leave us with certain emotions. I really liked how people were often left out of the loop though, as it was very realistic- not everyone can know about every single conflict in the hospital at once. I love how they showed us patients' stories and really helped us feel for them. It was a good balance of medical stuff and story- not too much showing off (was pretty realistic) and it humanized everyone- from doctors to patients.

One thing that could have been done better, however, was the climax and the villain. I've heard that the villain was the same from the previous season, but of course for me it didn't make much of a difference- just that I wish that there were higher stakes and more struggle against Chairman Do. However, in general, you can tell that the main conflicts had to do with the personal situations about each doctor and patient. I liked that aspect- though the middle admittedly got a little draggy. I know a lot of people also complained about the pacing and how some conflicts seemed anticlimactic. I appreciated that they didn't drag it out too much though, and conflicts were resolved pretty well. However, it's true that EunJae's could have been explored much better than it was.

In terms of the romance, I can see why people didn't appreciate EunJae and WooJin that much- I personally like that their romance was left to the side so we can see them sort out their own issues at first. Plus, you can tell from those gazes of WooJin's that he's loved her for a while and you can see how EunJae slowly comes to realize that she's falling for him. For me the pacing seemed realistic- yes they weren't a super swoony couple but they needed to put aside their issues first and become mentally strong. That last kiss was a long time coming though. Okay, but of course I loved EunTak and Areum. As well as Kim Sabu- let's face it. We're all here for Kim Sabu.

CAST
Hi everyone was amazing- there's not much else to say here. I really appreciated how AHS has grown as an actor though and can finally handle a male lead role well and has a good script that helps showcase his abilities. Him and LSK are such a pretty couple (I'm still a NamLee shipper though). However, the hands down best acting came from HSK. He completely embodied Kim Sabu and I cannot imagine anyone else as him.

MUSIC
The music was superbly done. It always matched the scenes perfectly, and the main OST Go Away Go Away has been playing on repeat for a while. I love the mood and musicality of it so much!

REWATCH VALUE
The only reason why this isn't a 10 on rewatch is that I'd probably watch it 10 times before only watching certain scenes? It's not timeless but I love it so much to watch it again and again!

THEMES
I love how "romantic" Kim Sabu makes the whole hospital experience. He brings together the patients and doctors, the doctors with each other- even couples! He has the best quotes and really embodies what he teaches. The whole family atmosphere that he has a large hand in creating makes Doldam what it is, and there really is something romantic about his skills.

CONCLUSION
Immediately had withdrawal symptoms. I watched it with my fam, only doing two episodes a day, so for me the general pacing was fairly natural. It really depends on how you watch it. I like how they left the MS though and the trauma center to be built because it sets things up for another season pretty well, though they should think of another main villain if they bring back all the Oddballs (I hope they do esp because I'm watching the first season now) because most of their individual problems have been solved. I loved this series, and it's officially on my favourites!

Must Watch Superb Character Driven Plot Heavy Medical Drama.

Entertaining from start to end - this show has everything and nearly all of it is better than Season 1 - urgent social issues, more numerous and bigger badder villains, scarier surgeries, multiple side romances and the soundtrack featuring old time hits (in English) is somehow even better too. It didn't shy away from discussing Equality in Treatment, Patient's ability to pay, Gender discrimination, Domestic Violence, Rape, Consent, Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders, Organ Donation, Treatment Priority during Triage and numerous other issues currently plaguing society. Some of those were done so well, I wasn't expecting it but actually couldn't help bawling several times during this drama - particularly during the Organ Donor and President Yeo portions.

The only things I thought were inferior to season 1 are there's not enough food porn, Dr. Seo is not as good a kisser as Dr. Kang and Dr. Cha's actress Lee Sung Kyung really needs to step up the acting as she is the worst in the whole show. Lots of pouting lips (distracting) then hysterics in a loud voice, just not great. I didn't buy her as a doctor at all. It really reinforced how good the Season 1 Female Lead's acting is.

This being said, it's a great drama and I would LOVE a 3rd Season.

INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER ROASTS AND AWARDS

Master Kim - Loved him even more after seeing he has Abs ... mmm Abs. We need Season 3 asap so I can see more of him, preferably shirtless. Funniest scene - when he caressed the chest of the "stripping" gangster I spit out my tea.

Dr. Seo WJ - He's not as dreamy as the ML from Season 1 but he's a great actor and really needs to take up shirtless running for the sake of us female fans.

Dr. Cha EJ - Female Eye candy, needs to improve acting skills. Really enjoyed when she finally had enough and went nuclear.

Dr. Park - He's not bad, just a jealous guy with mad skills who with enough love ended up Breaking Good.

Dr Yang Ho Joon - If his surgery skills were as sharp as his eavesdropping ears, he would be Master Dr. Kim Junior, instead of the most hated character in the series.

Dr. Shim - Risk averse Ice Cold anesthesiologist with sad history had an epiphany and changed. Great character development and ability to act JUST with her eyes. Muah *chef's kiss* Best Resting B Face in the series.

Dr. Bae - Weirdo guy with his bone harem (Jessie and Elizabeth), but so good looking most women wouldn't mind dating this Bone Bae.

Dr Yoon - Her Genius single dimple Smile and bubbly personality won me over. She so sweet everyone around her for extended periods might come down with diabetes. If only she had better skills with men because Nurse Park is RIGHT THERE and if I were here I'd put a ring on it before someone else does.

Nurse Park - IDK how a he's single as he looks like a GQ model and should be carrying a stick to beat off suitors

Chief Nurse Oh - LOVE her, she's especially sexy during her temper tirades.

Manager Jang - Hides mad espionage skills behind a ass-kissing exterior. Well played my friend, well played.

Dr. Nam the anesthesiologist - Please tell them to let you cook more delicious looking food. You always look like you could use a hug and I'd love to give you one.

Mr. Goo - Reminds me of the Giant Teddy Bears they sell at the stores, except he's real, and probably more cuddly when not enforcing Hospital Peace. For some reason I want to see him carrying TWO women, one in each arm.

President Yeo - he minor character who didn't appear in many scenes in Season 1 or 2. THIS is the best example of how the limited screen time of a minor character doesn't reflect the impact of the character's influence on other main characters or the show. When he finally passed, I couldn't help crying because we would no longer have his steadying influence and presence. Well done Kim Hong Pa. I'm really going to miss this guy. A lot.

Former Dr. Im Hyun Joon - bit role with big impact. Stellar actor.

Great show, with a great ending

Just finished this show, and it feels nice to watch such a good show. Before this, I had given up on doctor dramas, thinking they weren't my taste. However, this show isn't just a doctor drama. It includes many real-life problems and handles them exceptionally. This acting was also spectacular, especially Ahn Hyo-Seops.

The only thing I would have wished for is maybe a bit more building up in the romance, but even that was really good for what's supposed to be a doctor drama. Maybe more episodes might have been more fit, but that's just me being greedy because the show was so good.

Would definitely want to watch more of Ahn Hyo-Seops works after this. Overall, a great show, definitely worth watching, and definitely in my top 10

maybe this drama is one of drama that I don't know how to criticize?

simple drama with simple medical story, even have a continuous season, but they complete the story and problem every season

maybe the only one problem is , the distance between season 1 and season 2 too far? 2017 2020 ,far enough to forget some figures mentioned ,chairman shin, his daughter, his secretary, the doctor who nurse park like before

and i think there might be season 3? and if so I hope not too long

PEAK

I just completed watching Season 2 and I say without hesitation that Season 2 was ABSOLUTELY PEAK! The plot was just WHAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Every character did their best and the overall performance of the entire cast was just awesome. The cinematography was also much better than Season 1. I am really excited going into the 3rd Season, hope it will be if not better, as good as Season 2

The drama itself was like grey anatomy 2.0. I haven't watched the first season of this drama, so this was kinda a fresh started for me and also I kinda skip episode one, I watch it but I forget about it and started on episode 2. The story behind was amazing. I am about to watch the final episode and me kinda sad but not really overall I think it is going to play well in the ending. That is what I think. I think the reason why I like this drama so much as the actor in it. There wasn't really much kiss scene in this drama. There was like some peck on the lip for some episodes but there is a real kiss in the final episode. ( I was so surprised by this ) There is something I found that was really funny it was that everyone in the drama is eavesdropping on everything no matter where they are there is always one person listening to someone else conversion. Finally, in the last episode, there was a pull in kiss. Like a makeout, this is the first time seeing the male lead kiss someone like that, I haven't seen him kiss like that before. I love how it ending but I just wish that I saw how he reacted when he saw her again after ten days. but overall this is one of the best medical dramas I had seen before. This comes in second the first one is descendant of the sun. I normally don't usually watch medical K-drama but now this kinda made me want to watch more medical drama. This drama kinda made me want to become a nurse or doctor lol

The story of the drama will make you keep on watching and also keep you on your toes. The acting I love it. The ost is amazing, even I watch the two main leads sing the ost. The re-watch is like a fifty fifty. I don't really rewatch a lot of drama but I do rewatch something if it like really good. I love it Overall this is a good medical drama.

I've seen both seasons and this would be the first time I would write a review of this drama.
Season 1 took me into a roller coaster ride of emotions and the fact that the actors blend with each other so well, and the story was one of the best. Yeo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin had good chemistry and they acted really good in season 1.
For this sequel, even though Ahn Yeo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung's chemistry did not create an immense impact for me, I'm still here for the Doldam Crew. They are the heart and soul of the show and I missed them very much.
