I really loved Pete's dad and Kao's mother, it was complicated at times but that was the point. Is to show how young adults' lives change whenever they ente or engage in a particular relationship. Definitely recommend it. I have seen a lot of BL dramas by now and I can say this for sure Dark Blue Kiss is complicated but beautiful and simple in a way. Top of the Top.

I have lost count as to how many times I have binge watched this drama
I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to for this drama even though there are tons of reviews out there. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching, and binge watching this drama over and over again. The story is good, the characters are freaking precious and their bond is something that's even more precious. I love Pete and Kao so freaking much. Thier chemistry is no joke. This is honestly my favourite drama and they are my fav ship right now. I fell in love with them and I even fell for the side couple Sun and Mork.
And the cool gang, especially June, I love him so much. There hasn't been a single scene with him where I haven't laughed. Sandee and Thada were equally likable.
I have read a tons of reviews on this drama and some people voiced out that Pete's possessiveness is toxic but honestly I enjoyed seeing him get possessive and protective over his boyfriend. On top of that, Pete is someone whose confession started from "I am possessive of you". So I couldn't expect any less honestly. His possessiveness defines him.
Talking about Kao, damn how can someone be so adorable. Kao is independent, intelligent and very caring. He doesn't voice it out much but he really loves Pete a lot and I love him so freaking much. All hearts to this cute polar bear.
Okay it's a messy review. I don't even know if this can be called a review. Anyway I recommend this drama. It's really really worth watching.

I first started watching Kiss: The Series because of PeteKao, I saw an edit on YouTube and I tough "Why not?", so I started watching it. I really enjoyed it and I also liked the other couples, incluiding SunMork. When I knew this 2 couples were getting a sequel, I was really hoping for it. Guess what... I loved it. I was a bit worry that it wasn't going to be very good, since PeteKao had a lot of "romantic scenes" in Kiss: The Series, maybe in this one they were not gonna have so much of that, on the contrary, my stomach was fluttering every time I saw a scene of them. I was really upset and sad when they got mad because they made it last until the last episode. It was very painful to watch the scene where Pete says they are just friends, I could see the pain in Kao's eyes. Now, about SunMork, I was really hoping they had a few scenes on Kiss: The Series, but they hadn't, so when I found out about Dark Blue Kiss I was really happy to see them develop their relationship. Their scenes were amazing!!! I would definitely watch this series again. Cet avis était-il utile?
Anyways i would highly recommend this to any bl fan who wants something easy to watch well i found it easy to watch but yh enjoy !

The story plot, for me, is good. Character wise, i think there is a continuity and consistency in both Pete and Kao's. Story development is also good. The villain boy (forgot his name) is so good you'll want to strangle him. Music is also ok.
The only problem i have with the series is Mork and P' Sun's story. Sub love team in all series help us connect and consoles us whenever there are bad the things that are happening to the main couple. Mork and Sun's story, although beautiful, felt like an intrusion, for me. There story overlaps and has no connection with Pete and Kao's until the very ending. It would have been better for me if Sun and Mork character is developed in this series that will eventually lead them to have their own series. I felt like, as a fan of NewTay, their story has become the sub of Mork and Sun's. Don't get me wrong, i love SunMork, and their story, but PeteKao's story suddenly seemed not the focus especially the last half of the series.
But it is still great. Acting is also good and consistent. Pete and Kao's kiss seems more realistic here than in Kiss Me Again. Even after i finished watching this, i still go back to the last episode to rewatch it. Kudos!

AMAZING PLOT X AMAZING CAST!!!
Holy shit. I don't even know where to start. First of all, i just came back from watching Kiss Me Again because i don't want to be left out when i am watching DBK but they didn't mention much about what happened in KMA so its all good! Just you need to know that Pete has a lot of ego and such a troublemaker. He rather use his fist first than talk out of it.Pete x Kao. Ah. What do i comment about them. They are perfect! Love hate relationships at its finest. Pete is a little bit selfish and has too much pride in him though. I was shocked that he actually okay with Kao lose a student of his tutor just because he hates Non. Of course that Non can gtfo because he is such a devil in disguise. Bought his own merchandise and likes. Wtf?!!! But i don't think Kao is at fault since he is the victim of the situation. He need to choose between his boyfriend and his family. His sister need to have a part time job though, she keep on asking money but she doesn't want to have a job while studying???? But of course, after the rumours got worse, Pete come to the rescue!!! 💕💕💕💕 CAN I JUST SAY HOW MUCH I LOVE PETE'S DAD AND KAO'S MOM. THEY ARE SO COOL WITH THEIE KIDS BEING GAY. Especially Pete's dad. Lmao he even gave him condoms. AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH. Seriously, A+ for the kiss scene. They doesn't have much steamy and hot scene but the kiss scene is sufficient enough as it is HOTTTTT?!!!! THEY KISSED UNDERWATER THOUGH AND IT DOESN'T LOOK SLOPPY AT ALL. TRUST ME.
Sun x Mork. OH.. MY.. GOD... SUN IS SO HOT!! HNGHHHH i love him so much! Just that he is quite hot-headed when Mork is about to explain to him what is going on and i don't really have much complain about this couple. I think they are really cute and i like it that they have the same screentime as the main pairing.
This is exactly the closure that i need after watching KMA. IT'S SO GOOD!!! I LOVE THE WAY THEY SHOOT THE OPENING VIDEO LIKE THE GOOD OLD TIME LAKORN. LIKE FULL OF DRAMA. I LOVE IT UGHHH AND NEW., IM COMING FOR YOUR ASS. AND I I FINISHED THIS LAKORN IN ONLY 2 DAYS. GO WATCH IT YOU FOOL!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕✨✨✨✨

Strong plot and cast let it stand on its own, even if you haven't seen "Kiss Me Again"
NO-SPOILER REVIEWThis series is a spin off that focuses on two characters that were first introduced in other titles in the "Kiss" series. I did not watch Kiss or Kiss Me Again before watching Dark Blue Kiss because I heard they weren't necessary, and I now regret that decision. It is possible to jump straight into Dark Blue Kiss and enjoy it for what it is, but take it from me and others that you'll be craving more of these characters and you'll end up wanting to go back and watch anything else featuring them afterward anyway.
Because so many people were watching Kiss Me Again purely for the Pete and Kao BL moments, GMMTV made a three-part series compilation of all of the Pete-Kao scenes on YouTube. While this is disjointed to watch because it cuts out so many other parts, I recommend at least watching this compilation first to get a sense of where this couple came from before starting Dark Blue Kiss.
Pros
- Strong plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat and coming back for more
- Great characters with great chemistry. As this series doesn't focus on how they met, the overall vibe is more mature, but you do get to scratch the blossoming relationship itch with another side couple.
Cons
- The series feels off if you immediately jump in with Dark Blue Kiss itself as you don't get an introduction to any of the characters or their pre-existing histories or relationships.
Overall
- With a strong cast and plot, this series takes you on a wonderfully dramatic ride that lives up to its overly-dramatic opening theme. For the best experience, either watch Kiss Me Again first or at least watch the officially uploaded Kiss Me Again Pete-Kao Scenes compilation to get a better understanding of the journey this couple went through before getting to where they are in Dark Blue Kiss. If you don't, you'll probably end up wanting more and you'll end up going back and watching it all out of order like so many of us did anyway.

A Show that You Should Definitely Rewatch
[First of all, keep in mind that this is the show that turned me into polca so I may have some biased opinions here haha!]To be honest, the first time I watch it, I don't really love the storyline. It's just repetitively showing Pete's jealousy and Koa's somewhat insensitivity. And I'm just extremely frustrated by how they let Non almost ruin their 3-year-long relationship. And Non is just the most hateful character ever. These points are still valid, HOWEVER, while rewatching, I start to understand where their feelings come from. This is not a simple story about the mess created by an over-possessive boyfriend but more about the real struggles people in the LGBTQ+ community are having these days. Pete's possessiveness comes from his insecurity of Kao not being able to open up their relationship, while Kao is struggling very hard to come out to his mom and his friends (although this is inconsistent with the prequels, let's ignore it here). Non is also under the pressure of his possibly homophobic dad who also has unrealistically high expectations of him. One thing I love about this series is how PeteKao is already a couple in this series and they deal with all kinds of troubles about their relationship, just as straight couples do.
This show is by far the best BL series I've watched regarding how it represents the LGBTQ+ community. It talks about PeteKao and SunMork's relationships without using the cliche line "I don’t like men I only like you" (this sentence made it sounds like homosexuality is still rejected by the people who say it, so I think it's a bit problematic). It went into discussing extremely relevant and realist social issues of being gays, being lesbians, coming out, marriage, parental support/opposition, and insecurity in their relationships. It also portrays a cruel society by discussing violence, economic struggles, parent-child relationships, peer pressure, sex education, as well as internet bullying. There are just so many themes that you will need to rewatch to notice.
I would say this show has a great cast. Of course, this series provides great visuals to start with! The chemistry between TayNew and SunMork are both undeniably amazing. TayNew's intimate relationship in real life surely adds to the show. PeteKao naturally arguing over tiny things and SunMork being conflicted about their feelings toward each other make their relationships super believable and realistic. Acting is not amazing but still well above average.
This show also has a super high production value. I'm a big fan of P'Aof's directing and cinematography as always. Some camera shots are just breathtakingly beautiful. For example, I fell in love with PeteKao the moment I saw the scene by the swimming pool. The visual tension is captured so well! His wide landscape shots are also great! As for the music, we all know how infamously dramatic the intro song is. I bet most BL fans can relate hahaha! But every I watch it, I grow affection for it just because it's very different and interesting to watch. I wouldn't call the use of music "outstanding" in this show, but I just want to say the music before and during the first kissing scene in the classroom makes the scene almost magical! Not to mention how all the photos in this scene are It's very well-executed! And of course, as a polca, I can almost sing No Definition even though I don't understand Thai haha.
If you haven’t watched it, be sure to give it a try!!

LOVE IT BUT...... lack of communication
StoryThe only thing I hate about this show is the fact that most of their problems were from a lack of communication. Otherwise the story was good. Showing how lying and not being understanding can hurt a relationship. I love how it also talked about the coming out process which I stan and love.
Acting/Cast
My gosh I love TayNew's chemistry. They are soooooo good at acting and I loved them in this show. I also loved all the other actors but they are my faves. The acting on the sad scenes and intense scenes were great.
Music
Wonderful. Magic. Magnificent. Amazing. The intro song and the OST are both *chef's kiss* amazing. I listen to them on replay.
Overall
The only issue with this whole drama was the lack of communication but otherwise 10/10 please watch you will get addicted to TayNew.

Dark Blue Kiss is, in my opinion, one of the best BL dramas to air in 2019.Even the 8.5 overall rating it has now seems too low for me; the drama is showcasing realistic LGBT relationships.
Starting with the main couple, PeteKao. I regret not watching their series(Kiss: The Series, and Kiss Me Again) sooner. Although the former doesn't exactly show much of their relationship, there's still enough chemistry between the two of them to leave you satisfied. In Kiss Me Again, you can see how their relationship grew from strangers, to enemies, to lovers. Seeing Dark Blue Kiss, you can't help but feel excited to see what else GMM has in store for PeteKao.
The series starts with the two of them living their lives happily, having kept up their strong relationship for almost 3 years. Watching their interactions, you can tell the actors themselves are a lot closer than they were in Kiss: The Series, or Kiss Me Again, and it helps elevate the characters relationship.
The show did a wonderful job at portraying their relationship, and their break-up too. Instead of playing off Kao's betrayal like it was nothing, and having Pete forgive him right away, DBK gave Pete a chance to feel angry with Kao.
Although, in my heart, i wanted the two of them to stay together for the entire series, their break-up only strengthened their relationship, in the long run. Pete was able to swallow down his anger and pride in order to help Kao, and in return, Kao became more confident in their relationship, telling his mom, and acting open with their friends.
All in all, DBK did a wonderful job at continuing the storyline of our beloved couple, PeteKao.
Onto the side couple, SunMork.
I have three words for this side couple.
Oh. My. God.
In my opinion, SunMork is probably one of the best side couples in Thai BL! (I have to specify Thai, because nothing can beat Zhou Zi and Jack from Trapped!)
We saw a bit of interaction between Sun and Mork in Kiss Me Again, whenever Rain would bring Mork into Sun's cafe. This couple is a classic enemies to lovers, a trope that never gets old.
Their relationship was also shown in a realistic light; the two of them grow close to one another by a mutual friend (or in Sun's case, brother), and therefore have to spend time together.
Nothing about them seems rushed. They spend a solid amount of time together (Thank you, Rain), and grow to know one another pretty well.
Sun begins to look out for Mork, too, along with Rain, which softens Mork's heart towards him. (Anyone else obsessed with Mork's smiley wake-up scene after Sun offers him a job?)
But their relationship wasn't perfect, either. Sun still had the old idea of Mork in his head; the Mork that got into fights, and caused trouble. (Even after their promise ㅠ why sun whyyy)
The two of them lose contact, as well, avoiding each other at all costs. If Rain hadn't been there, caring about them both, i don't think they'd be together in the end.
But thankfully, Rain was there! And he helps them gain confidence in themselves, and in their feelings for one another.
I would definitely rewatch this series just for all of the cute SunMork moments!
The DBK series as a whole, too, is wonderful. There aren't any annoying female characters throwing themselves on to the main leads, which is a common trope in BLs. (whyy...most viewers are female...why would you do this to us ㅠ) And the supportive parents/friends is a nice touch, too. But my absolute favourite part is that all of the main leads don't use the "I'm not gay, i just like him." trope! They're all openly mlm, which brings a smile to my LGBT face.
To finish this off, I'd just like to say this show is a definite must-watch, even if you haven't seen Kiss:The Series and Kiss Me Again!
