Cute Guys, Cats and Cocktails
The headline pretty much says it all. This is a very short, fluffy, light drama with a very interesting premise. The owner of a bar has had his body switched with a cat, the same as 2 others. The cat guys run the bar while slowly trying to solve human issues from some troubled patrons, using semi super-natural means which are never fully explained. The 3 man / cats are seriously amazingly beautiful looking human beings - I'm not sure if it's because the contact lenses give them an other-worldly look or perhaps it is just the perfection of their features and the silkiness of their skin that is undeniable. They may look human but they act like cats. This is one of the most unbelievably gorgeous male casts I've ever seen on a K-drama. Cute guys, check!
And then there's the obligatory cat scenes. Some are "fake" cat paws, but occasionally you get a real cat sitting there just looking all cute. Not sure how they managed to train the cats to act, but even sitting still cats look cute. I wanted to snuggle them all, they look warm, furry and pet able. Cats, check!
Finally there's the cocktails. They "make" them in slow motion, listing the ingredients. I don't know how they taste, but those are some gorgeous looking cocktails in terms of color and decoration. I would happily drink them. Cocktails, check!
Overall, after I finished this short drama, I picked up my cat to cuddle and was happily fantasizing that someday, some crazily handsome bartender would serve me drinks while listening to my problems. It's not groundbreaking, but I was very satisfied.

It felt a bit like nonalcoholic drink when you crave some percentage. It was so short, it did not really have time to set the mood, vibe and hit me in any way.
I still appreciate how they managed to give some nice and relatable messages that can apply to many different contexts, not just a specific one presented by the customers. Universal takes that could make your life better.
The acting was also good for a short web drama like this. Especially impressed with Kim Wook in episode 2 and his quick and effective change of performance.
My biggest issue? Lackluster production. The music was too loud, the cat sounds were cute, but at some point overwhelming. I was bombarded with different auditory stimuli, I struggled with focusing on what I was watching.
That said, I loved the fake cat paws. That was probably one of my favorite small details from the whole show.

Magical cocktail therapy...
Taste of Cat has a great concept, incredible cats and my favourite genre: fantasy. So why only four short episodes? The cats take over their owner's bar late at night and help out strangers who stumble upon it. The drama covers two cases: a girl who finds out her ex is badmouthing her and a man who bumps unexpectedly on his ex and is ridden with regrets. The cats through drinks and more (fantasy element: body swap and time travel!) help them see more clear and sort it out!
Does anyone know what happened to these three actors? They are by far the most convincing. (and the cutest) cats I have ever seen! I could watch them play with a ball of yarn and throwing steamy glances to each other for hours: plot is not needed! So why did they sink into oblivion, doing bit parts, if any? What a waste! I looked them up while watching this short drama and the fact that their careers never took off as they rightfully deserved, made me incredibly sad .
The production is the usual for a korean web drama: some bad acting, some empty sets, some bad cinematography, though not all (the date was filmed soft like a dream...), I loved the original idea of the plot: the bartender listens to the customer's story in exchange for a shiny toy (bracelet, tie) and offers a corresponding magical cocktail!
Cute but too short! I know there is a sequel....still this concept deserves a better production and a longer drama!
