I will admit that I found the second half of the movie too cliché for my personal tastes, and the lead character's personalities start off great but slowly become more bland and milquetoast by the end, but none of it is so egregious that it made me dislike the movie or the characters. It was just disappointing to see happen. Of course, these are hallmarks of a lot of these types of movies, and often some of their biggest draws, so don't let this convince you not to give this movie a try. It's sweet, and you just might like it.

cheesy but enjoyable
i came for the cheese.i stayed for the cheese.
yes, the concept is not brand new. what i appreciated tho is that the seemingly "bad guy" isn't entirely a jerk... just a tad bit childish. when it comes to the fl, i was so happy she wasn't presented as naive or spineless. this movie really presented a strong fl who won't let her guard down but she's also caring and understanding.
considering this is a high school romance and i try to avoid filipino movies when it comes to this genre, some parts are indeed cringey but the chemistry between the leads is undoubtedly real.
the emotional moments were done well to create a connection for the leads. it was heartwarming to see the ml help the fl during her rough times. i think one thing i wasn't a fan of was how supposedly sophia was viewed to be unattractive because of her braces. thankfully the transformation thing they usually do wasn't major or made as much of a big deal.
overall, this is an entertaining and cutesy movie involving two teens with different lives and underlying struggles.

It is what it is...
What do you get when you mix "She's All That" and "10 things I Hate About You" and add a bunch of words in Tagalog?Well this, definitely this a lovely teen drama with cliches and things you have seen as far as the eyes can see with a few fun takes, entertaining, cringey, predictable... Oh so predictable, honestly I could probably say their lines before they said them even though it was my first time watching this movie.
However I was entertained and at the moment in desperate need of mindless, bad boy goes soft so it hit just the right spot. So a part of me loved it.
Do I recommend it? Probably not, but if you are in the mood for exactly this (as I was) then yes go for it, as it will deliver exactly what it promises. For those who want substance, or quality of any kind this is not the place you will find it (no offence).

Cheeses and predictable yet light and fluffy
7.5/10 is my rating. This is a 120 minute Filipino romantic comedy movie. Also called “The Bet.”Drake Sison (Enrique Gil) is known for being a highly sought after ladies’ man. He and his best friend, AndreI (Yves Flores) are constantly making bets which often enter around the opposite sex. Though he often loses to Drake, Andrew thinks he has come up with the bet he is sure to win, Drake must make the not so popular new girl, Sophia Taylor (Liza Soberano) fall for him in 30 days or declare Andrei the winner. Drake thinks, piece of cake, after all what woman has been able to resist his charms? He soon finds he may have met his match and losing the bet may be the least of his worries.
Spoiler ** I did not hate this for what it was a very light, predictable, teenage romantic comedy. If you’re out for just light and fluffy and something you don’t have to think about at all then this might fit the bill. To me the girl was never all that ugly or nerdy and I could clearly tell with a little make up and a different hairstyle she was very beautiful actually. That made her not the best fit for the role because she was supposed to be sort of Undateable looking. Although it was predictable I did like the fact that the girl was way more complex than the lead guy had imagined and it was that very complexity that drew him to her and made her different than other girls he dated. It was quite cheesy and some parts almost cringey but I think part of that must be cultural because other Filipino romances I have seen have been equally cringe worthy and cheesy. I knew what I was getting into when I read the plot so I wasn’t completely surprised about anything and for me it was sort of what I was looking for that day. It was definitely a good one to watch with my 10-year-old granddaughter as it was a very innocent romance in fact I don’t even remember them truly kissing just their lips getting close. So I would say good not great but if you’re looking for something light and where you can sort of auto pilot this could be it.

Cheesy but cute
I happened upon this movie accidentally. The ML's hair was ridiculous through half of the movie and was very distracting, but I liked the development of their relationship. She was supposed to be "plain." but I found her very cute, and she was hard-working and didn't take anything from anyone. I loved the ML's progression and his very surprised discovery that he had fallen in love with her. Some of it was overacted, but I must admit that I actually shed a few tears. They had both been through quite a bit in their young lives, and once they opened up to one another, the healing could begin.Cet avis était-il utile?
