A Promising Premise Hindered by Pacing
100 Days My Prince" earns its 8.5 stars for its blend of historical charm and humor, yet falls short in certain aspects. The compelling premise of an amnesiac prince navigating common life is engaging, with D.O's charismatic performance adding depth. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, injecting warmth into the romance. However, the pacing falters at times, hindering character development. While comedic moments land well, they occasionally overshadow the political intrigue. Furthermore, the resolution feels rushed, leaving loose ends. Despite these flaws, the show remains a worthwhile watch, delivering an enjoyable historical rom-com with room for improvement.Cet avis était-il utile?
Acting is Good, Story is Average
I thought it was a generally enjoyable drama on the whole.>Acting--the best part<
This was the first drama where I really appreciated D.O.'s acting skills--he is legit no joke. Nam Ji Hyun always has a strong headed female lead character so her acting was good too! Kim Seon Ho gave us a bit of Second Lead Syndrome and his smile is killer.
>Story--average<
I love a good character development drama and this one was good at that--very good. I enjoyed it mainly because of the character developmen and mild thriller that played in the background of the historical comedy. The main catalyst for the character development is the Strong Female Lead.
I usually hate historicals, but I love comedies and this was one of the first dramas I watched that got me into the 'historical-comedy' genre.
If you hate the cold ML trope this drama (probably) is not for you. If you don't mind that, this should be a fairly typical journey for you. The Second Lead Syndrome wasn't too overwhelming--at least for me, and I usually have SLS allegies--because the character of the Male Lead was understandably annoying.
This is not an overly political historical drama. This is probably one of the least politically motivated historicals but without a little bit of politics the slight thriller in the background would not exist. I personally enjoy thrillers but I am sure there are someof you that don't
DISCLAIMER: *not a spoiler*: If you aren't a fan of amnesia plots (even as the premise of a story) this is also not for you.
>Romance--Chemistry check<
Definitely some chemistry between the ML and FL and I enjoyed that spark immensely! If you are looking for a good Rom-Com this fits the bill too well (all the tropes you always/never wanted).
>Ending--below average<
It gets draggy. This is part of the reason that this drama did not get an 8 in my books. The draggy ending was really unnecessary and could be a let down for those that want a more decisive and climactic ending. I find that this trait is common for historical comedies.

100 Days My Prince, is a historical romance drama that stars D.O. as prince Lee Yul and Nam Ji Hyun who plays (Hong Shim) as the eventual love interest of the prince. This is a story that has been told before. The plot is straight forward. The real interest in this drama are the two leads, their acting, and the fan base that they both have makes the audience who follow their careers very happy to see them as leads in this story.Lee Yul is a prickly prince who survives an assassination attempt, but in the process of running for his life he is wounded and hits his head on a rock and goes unconscious. The prince is found in a forest by a watchman who carries the prince to his home and the watchman nurses him back to health. The prince recovers but he has lost his memories of who he is. The watchman has a daughter and the watchman convinces the prince to marry his daughter to prevent her from becoming a concubine to an old and wicked nobleman. The marriage is fake, but eventually, Lee Yul and Hong Shim fall in love with each other. By the time they really want to be together as husband and wife, Lee Yul gets most of his memories back and is found by a person of authority who works for the King. He is brought back to the kingdom to perform his royal duties. Lee Yul and Hong Shim are now separated and the rest of the story is about their long journey to get back to each other and have the chance to live the fairy tale.
This is a well thought out story when it comes to conflict, suspense, and the clever plot conventions used to create a love story where love must overcome many difficulties and hardships before the dream of being together can be realized and attained. The only thing that I did not like about the story was that after Lee Yul fought valiantly to finally get back to his love, Hong Shim then pulls the “I’m not worthy” card out and the audience has to endure an ending that began to sour. Even if in the end, all ends well, the ending is somewhat tainted now because it could have been so much better when the prince fights for his woman and is allowed to carry her off to the castle to live a happy life, make a happy wife, and then have plenty of pretty babies 😁. When you have been to hell and back and have waited a long time to be in the full embrace and life of the one you love, you don’t turn your back on this precious moment and suddenly have a guilty conscience. This reaction is a real turn off for me and feels terribly thoughtless and disrespectful to the efforts of the one who fought so hard to get back to your side where they belong.
D.O. really played his part well and made his fan base proud. Nam Ji Hyun is just flat out beautiful and has a smile that really does “light-up-the-room” as well as the hearts of her leading men in dramas. This drama is entertaining; I just wish the lemonade ending was even sweeter.

Great Drama!!!
The acting of all the main cast was amazing. Do Kyungsoo and Nam Jihyun are both have amazing acting skills and had believable chemistry. While I wish we got a little more from the ending, 100 Days My Prince was overall an amazing drama that I would definitely rewatch. The show had both many funny moments but also the serious politics of a historical drama. I especially loved all the interactions that Do Kyungsoo and Nam Jihyun had with all the villagers and enjoyed seeing Do Kyungsoo acting like he was a fish out of water.

7 ENCHER LINGUIÇA E FICAR ENROLANDO ENROLANDO ENROLANDO ....

One of my personal favorite dramas
Now, i’m not gonna lie and say this drama was amazing in all aspects, because it definitely wasn’t. However, it did exceed my expectations in some parts. The acting was amazing. The side characters, the supporting characters, the main characters, everyone did amazing. It felt like they were real people and did just actors playing a role.
The storyline is where I get kind of ehhh. They were married for 100 days; why haven’t they consummated? I just feel like if Hongshim were to be impregnated, it would add so much to the plot. I also feel like the ending felt a little bit… Mysterious?? I personally don’t like endings that just happen if you get what I mean. But I also understand that there’s a season 2 coming up; so it would make sense to have that sort of ending in the first season.
The plot did drag out in some parts. Especially with the antagonists, and the way that i-seo and yul “left” each other again, and reunited again at the end of the last ep, i just felt that it was so unnecessary???
Overall, this drama was amazing and enjoyable in my personal opinion, and definitely does have a rewatch value. If i’m ever bored, maybe i’ll rewatch it again. :)

I loved the boy who plays the young prince, a real star. The prince, D.O from EXO I follow him as a singer but he's great as an actor too. I love when he walks with his hands behind his back and doesn't want to be touched (oh oh) even if he doesn't remember to belong to the royal family.
However, the question of marriage between the two is dragged out too long (even a second imposition of marrying young people) and the punishment for the villain was too light. He deserved much worse.
Up until episode 10 it was interesting, from 11 onwards a little less.

Prince NO Princess YES
Joseon based drama are one of my favourite to watch while being sick or just not feeling at 100%. I've seen "100 Days My Prince" exactly at those circumstances but didn't like is as much as "Rookie Historian". It's not like I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but if I would have to choose I would definately pick Goo Hae-Ryung 😬It's a kdrama so we all know that they will eventually fell in love and he is going to recover from amnesia but what I was watching it for was the princess (Han So Hee) and Nam Ji-Hyun. Most of reviewers were raving about dashing male lead Won Deuk/crown prince Yul (D.O.) but he didn't impress me. I focused more on Hong Shim 😎 (Nam Ji-Hyun) who with Kim So Hye 😍 (Han So Hee) made way better show! Their stories were greatily arranged and I was rooting for their happy endings. Ladies just stole the show for me and I didn't need that prince at all 😅
The story wasn'y as captivating as I was expecting.... too big expectations maybe?😕 It didn't make me to want to know what's gonna happen in next episode. OK there were 2 or 3 cliff hangers that made me to watch 1-2 episodes with no breath would or to sit with bilion of tears. But that's it. Mystic Pop-Up Bar or Alchemy of Sould made me do that every episode!
In my opinion if you are considering watching this for the story, you will be disappointed.

Historical Drama Blends Romance and Political Intrigue
100 Days My Prince" starts strong with a captivating first few episodes. As the story unfolds, Lee Yool, an amnesiac prince, and Hong Shim navigate a unique and charming romance filled with heartwarming moments and delightful interactions.Nam Ji-Hyun delivers a standout performance, bringing energy and comedic timing to her role, especially in her scenes with the supporting cast of villagers. The subplot involving political intrigue adds layers to the story, and while some characters are less developed, the dynamic sibling relationship between Hong Shim and Yoon Seok-Ha adds depth and emotional resonance.
Despite some pacing issues and a few underutilized characters, "100 Days My Prince" offers a mix of romance, humor, and drama that makes it a worthwhile watch. Its engaging moments and good performances ensure that it remains an enjoyable and series.

Highly recommended!
This is one of my all-time favorite Korean dramas.Korean dramas rarely have a fake royal family or dynasty and I appreciate that this one did (at least I think this was a made up one). I feel this gives a bit more freedom to the plot when you're not bound by an actual person's story.
This was just a good, all round watch. The male lead did a good job of portraying someone who was struggling with his identity and slowly falling in love with his wife. The female lead was smart, brave, and funny (though not sure how she would have liked life as the queen with all its endless restrictions...). They were just cute together. I love the supporting characters, especially the FL's best friend and best friend's husband. I also liked her adoptive father a lot, they clearly had a good relationship.
The evil lead made me furious, which meant he was written and portrayed well. I understood the Crown Princess' plight--she had not wanted a loveless marriage, but that is what she got (though how she was ever alone long enough to get pregnant, I have no idea). The reason for taking off 0.5 points is that they killed off Yoon Seok Hwan. Yes he was an assassin, but only because that is the deal he had made to keep his sister alive. He loved his baby's mother and they should have gotten a happy ending, too. And we need more historical dramas with Kim Jae Young please! Especially of him shooting arrows and sword fighting. Lots and lots.
I got SMLS, of course, but I almost always do. It was not too horrible since I also liked the ML, but the SML was just so sweet. I wish they had found him a nice girl by the end...(though I'm not sure about the gisaeng?)
I highly recommend this one, its right up there with Moon Embracing the Sun for me.
