Butterfly Lovers (2017)

I read some of the reviews and there is a lot of negativity. Well, here is why I personally loved it. I watched butterfly lovers my whole life growing up. I have a pretty good understanding of the original story line itself. I don't have a problem with a few changes here and there. The changes in this series was not that bad. The actors and actresses were pretty good and I liked it. I was really looking forward to watching Lu Zhuo act as Zhu Yingtai since I knew he was a guy the first time I saw him. Lol. Anyway, I loved this version. The main reason why I loved it is because the director, or writers, decided to make them all good buddies. The older version made Ma Wencai the bad guy/bully. Overall, it was totally worth it since I am a huge fan. The biggest part why I love The Butterfly Lovers as a whole is the original theme song. I always listen to the live Erhu version. Which is the 30 minute performance by ?? (Sun Huang). I only recommend it if you're actually into The Butterfly Lovers' story line. I cry EVERY TIME. Lol!

Well this is no spoiler and should’ve been put in the description on tops This is TRAGEDY!! The only difference from this and the original story is that it is more modern I guess. Just a lot of indirect ads and stuff like this. Basically no BL since the people knew she was a girl not to long after. So this isn’t any not gay but gay love. The story could’ve been more attracting and didn’t make me want to watch more of it. The only thing good about this drama is how good looking the male leads are and basically that’s it. Don’t really recommend watching it. Don’t waste your time. Or you could choose to watch the first 5 eps and watch the ending. I am so disappointed that I wasted a whole day on this.
