While my heart screamed it's sappy self out and I wanted things to go silly between Dong Hoon and Ji An the truth behind this drama came out: "What a wonderful relationship you have with him. And so precious, too. If you take the time to think about it each and every interpersonal relationship is quite fascinating, and precious. You must repay them. Live a happy life. That's how you can repay the people in your life."
My Mister is a drama of how we touch each other's lives. The relationships and connections that we chose to keep and cherish. Personal happiness and sorrow. It's truly beautiful.
To be quite honest I think the biggest pay off of this ending episode was Loan Shark. Lee Gwang Il. When he could hear Ji An's honest words about their past and present relationship. That she did understand that his father hurt him and even though he knew his father was bad he mourned him. The girl he knew was being wronged and he cared for, killed a horrible man whom he loved. He was wrinkled by life too. He was also unwrinkled by Ji An. I hope she knows he sent those flashdrives.
I would have liked a quick check in on on Ki Beom [Ji An's best friend]. Who is the only character who is truly left out. THe only reason I keep bringing him up is because he is pivotal to the entire plot! Yet works as just a quiet and silent little used character. Which does credit to the writer. I also would have liked to have more confirmation on Kang Yoon Hee. From the pictures and what he says Kang Yoon Hee and Park Dong Hoon are still together. But now she lives where their son is . . . so now there's a huge distance between them. How does that fix a marriage?
Either way this is one of the most impressive and down to earth dramas I have ever watched. It's lovely and beautiful. With all it's harsh edges and . . . grit. I adore this drama and I do feel that it's utterly underated despite it's high ratings. As I type my review for the last episode My Mister sits on the highest ratings on this site at 9.2 tying with Signal and SKY Castle. Signal happens to be a favorite of mine so that high praise. (Haven't watched SKY Castle yet.) When I switch from ratings to most popular it's on page freaky 11!!!!!! It's all the way back there with it's #1!
I just needed to rant. Because this drama is spectacular. One of the best endings with no let down. No slowing and the writer/director never lose there way.
