Ok, so I knew about this drama long before I ever decided to watch it. It has it's typical "bang my head in the wall" moments where someone just barely misses something that would end the drama much quicker. But that is to be expected from a Korean drama. As a much slower paced drama, there may be some people who would find this annoying. I however, find a certain charm in that slower-paced, but never lacking in story, drama.

It doesn't take long before the audience figures out all the truths in the drama but the writing is exception in my opinion. The acting of the cast, especially the main leads, was well worth watching. The kids of the drama, in the first few episodes, also do an amazing job acting out their parts. The filming and ost of the drama are beautiful and touching.

I gave the acting a 9 because the second female lead can sometimes frustrate the viewer with her general lack of common sense/courtesy. Rewatch value is a 6 because it is a slower-paced drama that is amazing the first time around. The second time around you know all that's going to happen and will just skip the irrelevant parts and watch the parts you remember and loved.

I recommend giving this drama a chance if you enjoy the korean romcom genre with a lot of melodrama.

If you have time to spare and don't mind a slow-paced drama, Spring Waltz may be just what you're waiting for. It starts out with a lot of flashbacks, but they are vital to set up the story and explain things as they stand and how they came to be. Throughout the drama there may be times when viewers will want to groan in frustration over the characters completely missing a point that would have solved their problems right there. When it comes down to it, though, this is a touching story, one that will make you shed tears when you least expect it.

Coupled with the music, the acting and story is killer, for lack of a better term. Whether you like classical music or not, or enjoy such sad stories, the sweet moments mixed in with personal tragedy will make you laugh and cry when you least expect it. Definitely a drama worth watching.

Spring Waltz is the second drama on the Endless Love instalments that I watched; the other one being Winter Sonata. Though not as popular as its predecessor, it is actually surprisingly underrated and is deserving of plenty of accolades. It is beyond good and freshly breathtaking and is equal or better than Winter Sonata in its starry-eyed storytelling magic.

It is a tale of childhood romances and sacrifices made by a young boy to save a girl he loves but having to live a life of lies thereafter. Yes, it has its share of kdrama makjang but it is rightfully sentimental, intensely heart rending and purposefully melancholy for the right reasons.

The first four episodes may drag out for some people since it focuses solely on the childhood lives of the two main characters. The child actors were outstanding especially young Eun-young. This is one of those dramas where I can relate the young actors to their adult equivalent. Young Eun-young was breathtakingly beautiful with her wide-eyed innocence and expressive acting talents. The adult Eun-young was equally beautiful and came across as very warm, caring, self sacrificing earnest type.

The story thereafter took place fifteen years later when their paths cross again amidst new identities and blurred memories of their childhood; he the cold, introvert, renowned pianist and she, a bubbly, aspiring designer. That scene in the train in Austria was one I could rewind and re-watch again and again.

The plots are certainly kdrama cliches where mysteries and secrets tend to drag out towards the end with one too many coincidental missed opportunities to reveal the truth. Having said that, Spring Waltz is truly a romantic’s dream with its fair share of lovely leads, deserving second lead, slightly evil antagonists that eventually redeemed themselves and generally beautiful acting surrounded by scintillating music and beautiful cinematography. The OST and background score were all mesmerizing and soothing to listen to.

It is a definite must watch for any hopeless romantics out there. As for re-watch value, I may speed watch some scenes but yes, I would sit through it again.

Spring Waltz is almost a decade old and is reflective of its age when it comes to kdrama trends. If you are ones that crave glitz, action packed scenes, fast paced storytelling, novelty themes, then maybe this is not for you. But if you feel nostalgic for some makjang done well, Spring Waltz will surprise you.

I actually saw this drama some time back and I realized I never wrote a review on it. Honestly, I tend to avoid melodramas. Most of them don't appeal to me because they are just too sad. I usually find them unbelievable and difficult to relate to. I believe Spring Waltz is not
one of those.

It's actually an old drama- the last installment of the Endless Love series. Its predecessors are all widely loved and were the ones responsible to spread the Hallyu wave. I never found the other installments appealing however I decided to give this a chance. I won't say this is a drama that captivates you immediately. It's like candy with a tasteless exterior. You need to chew it long enough to thoroughly taste its sweetness which is hidden inside.

As the drama progresses, its characters grow on you. The aspect I love most about it was its romance. In spite of the fact that I wasn't a fan of the main male lead, I think he did a good job. I have a thing for characters like him who are musicians with a sad past. The female lead is an ordinary kdrama heroine but that doesn't mean she isn't memorable. Han Hyo Joo did an excellent job of her character. This is the drama I got introduced to her through and she's among my favorite actresses now.

The plot is cliche by all respects. The first four episodes focus on the childhood of the main characters. It has an insecure second lead and bad mother-in-law just like most of the kdramas have/used to have. Rest is some makjang and then the ending- which is the best part about it.

The cinematography of this show is excellent. It has several breathtaking views in every episode and the camera work is really eye-catching. Plus the beautiful pieces for the background score were all very soothing to listen to. The OST is really great.

I think this drama has a decent rewatch value. It's something I would watch later on when I am in mood of old kdramas.

Granted, this drama is slow-paced and the first few episodes worth of flashbacks become exasperatingly boring. However, it is a good thing "present-day" came right in time, otherwise I would have dropped this drama.

I watched this drama quite late, considering that it was made a while back, but it gave me perspective. Similar to other romance Korean dramas, it is a typical love story but with a twist. And although recently the twists have been quite diverse (the guy's an alien, the guy is actually a girl, they switch bodies etc) Spring Waltz's love story is very pure and therefore a bit more traditional on the melodramatic side. You might not like the story if you don't like the typical romance, but if you are a sucker for the sappy love-love, then this is a long, yet satisfying drama.

I was frustrated at points but there were others parts that made the romantic in me very glad to have watched it, especially since I love those traditional love triangles. The cinematography was brilliant. It paralleled the story, traditional, yet sweet and subtle. The music was great, considering it is key to the story and it really strengthened the drama.

Although I think that they pushed the 'spring' theme a bit too much, me not watching the other dramas of the series, I think the subtle spring setting and the pure love would have been enough without them talking about it directly. Although a bit predictable at times, it is a great watch if you have the time to watch through the first few episodes.

Like, some drama's out there, Spring Waltz, in the starting episodes, it has some explanation of what happened to Su Ho during their past. More like flashbacks or something.

In times, Spring Waltz will make you smile, laugh and surprised in its own way. It has great music(whether you like classical or not), a nice plot and some really good and good-looking actors.

Overall of that, If you're into romance drama's this is really a recommendation for you to watch. Shed a tear if you must(Yes, it may happen.) If you're into the beauty and hotness(?[lol]) of the actors, this is a good drama to watch. But be warned, I will not promise that you'll like this drama very much like I did. Every person has it's own opinion, and I wrote this review for my opinion. So Enjoy~!

Spring Waltz (2006) - I love you so~~~ Love is a beautiful one~~~ hahahahaha. If you find singing to this song again, yeah right it is this drama.

Among all the season series (Winter Sonata, Summer Scent and Autumn in My Heart), this is the only drama that I finished watching so I don't really know about the other dramas in this series. It's a slow paced drama with a lot of throwbacks. I also find the drama frustrating at times, since they could have finished this earlier I think they are vital moments for a touching story that was formed. I cried alongside this drama because most of the scenes are sad.

The OST is great especially the piano pieces - it adds an aura of melo in the drama.

Here’s another case of melodrama but this one, I really liked.

The final installment of Endless Love series, Spring Waltz has it’s funny aspects but the whole mood of the drama is mainly romance and inner angst. I would have to warn you that the first 8 episodes of the drama was dedicated for the past of the two main characters. So you will see a couple of children playing around getting to know each other despite their poverty stricken condition and then... it sort of drags on.

Lee Su Ho, whose father was debt stricken and was left in the care of Su Eun Young’s mother thus making them live in the same house. Su Ho is a good kid and really cared for Eun Young while she, on the other hand adored Su Ho as well. Eun Young is a very talented but sickly girl. Her mother was actually working hard so she could get Eun Young an operation, but due to Su Ho’s father stealing that hard earned money, this drove the two kids apart.

Years past and they cross paths once again but now in different names.

As for why that happened? Watch the drama. *grins*
This is also the part where the story picks up it's pace.

What are the things I loved about Spring Waltz?

The story line is already given, so what else? It’s the back drop setting, the mood and the OST. The main characters are raw actors and they aren’t really that good in acting yet but… given the setting where SPRING color is all around, everything becomes an eye candy. The colorful hues of everything within the drama says SPRING SPRING SPRING! The luscious color of green, purple, blue, pink and everything else in between is accentuated. I couldn’t help but smile while watching it all. It was really great to look at. Then comes in the OST, it was more on the musical scoring but hearing Loveholic sing One Love was a plus point. Whenever I hear that song, I am reminded of how much I loved this drama.

Test of Friendship

Spring Waltz dances around childhood memories, love, a sentiment with a ballad all their own. The storyline is cliche, but it is through the characters' struggles and development we find attachment. All around, it is a sweet story that might have benefited from 16 episodes instead of dragging out to 20 episodes. The bland and tiresome plot hampers the actors' skills significantly. A person into slow-paced dramas it is well worth your time to watch when you have nothing else to do and watch.

Koreans and Japanese do a marvelous job encompassing a scene through the sound of music. In regards to the soundtrack, it is one of the most memorable and captivating musical pieces I have listened to in K-Drama history. Every time I hear the humming of "La La La" and the music starts to play, I get all jittery with the feelings of lost friendship finding its way back. Every time I listen to the song "One Love" by Loveholic, happy and sad memories stir my emotions like a warm breezy spring day.

It is a melodrama with breathtaking cinematography and beautiful locations shot in Hallstatt and Salzburg, Austria, and Cheongsando island. It was the final installment to Director Yoon Seok Ho's Endless Love series, in my belief, the second-best season out of the four Endless Love series.

The relatively unknown actors Seo Do Young, Han Hyo Joo, and Daniel Henney were one the reasons why the show worked to its advantage. It was the first time I viewed Han Hyo Joo in anything. It was such a treat as I followed her ever since this drama aired. Daniel Henney's character is somebody I would want to be friends with if a scenario like that ever occurred in my life. Seo Do Young's character is difficult to execute because of the sentimental story of the frustration and pain welling up inside his closed heart. The lack of acting experience the lead actors possess shows, but it did not diminish the quality of the show.

On that note, I have seen this seven times since it aired as it is my go-to Romantic Drama in times of stress. The show's audience might be limited in scope, but people might take the opportunity to go on this unforgettable journey. Maybe watch it towards the backend of Winter and the beginning of Spring. Spring has a floral aroma that flaunts itself in familiar places.

My Final Rating: 8.41/10
My, rewatch value is eight because I have seen this too many times, except I can watch many times and not get bored.

Oh my darling!!!!

Okay so the thing is I had to watch all the way through to appreciate the ending. TAlk about taking me through the wringer emotionally.
The beginning is terrific, giving you the outline of the history and the relationship between the main leads. That being said the middle is where I come unstuck. I mean really who sticks around after finding out you were duped and not only that but to pin the blame all on the poor guy who actually wasn’t to blame. Made for an interesting watch I have to say.
The ending was superb, even though we all knew how it was going to be it did have you guessing a bit.
Acting was brilliant all the way through, even when it wasn’t.
Music was beautiful as was the amazing scenery and cinematography.
Glad I watched it.

I watched it by accident. Until then i never knew han hyo joo existed. Even then i watched shining inheritance first episode and she was in it and i dropped it as it was slow and she was not looking good in first episode.

Back to spring waltz, first few episode was slow but han hyo joo beauty made me watch episode after episode.

But i really hate the ending. I prefer it open ended ending in that she never love the main lead again.

Also i think they made the story such that he got the money to pay for her surgery by getting adopted is cop out.

This drama has to end sadly for it to be great. But overall i loved the color of the drama and han hyo joo smile and tears.
