Ok so I read the summary of this story and it didn't really sound good enough for me to watch it until well I read the review on it and I decided to give it a try and all I have to say is the drama was fantastic, but what I really loved about it was the END. The END was the happiest ending I ever seem so far!!!!! The END was my favorite part I didn't end with a continued ending, meaning that they could have put more to it. Or those ending that where so stupid that you couldn't understand it. The END was nice and clear everybody had a happy end even though there is a little sad part on the last episode but at the END it made happy how they were one whole family!!!

This drama really caught me by surprise. I read so many great reviews, but based on the synopsis, and the length, I honestly expected to drop it. Instead, I couldn't stop watching. I had no idea what I was getting myself into watching the first episode, but I felt like I blinked and I was suddenly laughing and crying through episode 30. I avoided this drama in the past, because of the amount of episodes, but It felt shorter than some dramas with almost half the amount of episodes. I guess this qualifies as a textbook "makjang" drama, so yes the plot gets pretty unbelievable. What made even the most ridiculous parts of the plot work for me was that I genuinely cared about the characters.

The cast really was amazing... mostly. The chemistry between all the characters kept me engaged, even when the plot was a little wtf. There were some moments when the acting was so over the top that it was comical, which probably has a lot to do with the style of drama, so that's the only reason I didn't give the acting/cast a 10.

Hwang Jung Eum's spunk in other dramas makes sense to me now. Even though Kill Me, Heal Me is one of my drama favorites, this is definitely a close second for my favorite role I've seen her in. Honestly, her perky personality can be a little annoying, but it was perfect for portraying Woo Ri. Then there's Kim Jae Won, with that cute smile - the kind of smile that makes me smile involuntarily. I adored the way he played Dong Joo without milking the role for sympathy. I also have to applaud the writers for making him a strong character, and not just a victim. In fact, neither were victims, which was refreshing. I couldn't get enough of their chemistry too. They had so many instant rewind-worthy cute scenes. They really were a great, and believable, match.

It would take too long to sing the whole cast's praises, but honorable mentions to Nam Gung Min as moody Ma Roo, Lee Hye Young as "Mommy Dearest" Tae Hyun Sook, forever friendzoned Lee Kyu Han as Seung Chul (will he ever get the girl?), Yoon Yeo Jeong as potty mouth halmeoni, and the perfectly cast younger versions... The only cast member I didn't like was Kang Moon Young, who's face was honestly distracting, and her character Shin Ae was one note until the very end. The True MVP of the cast is Jeong Bo Seok as Bong Young Kyu. I wasn't sure what to make of the character at first, but by the end he was the character that made me cry, and laugh, and showed unexpected depth. I would rate his acting well above a 10.

The writers did a great job keeping the show entertaining from start to finish. The drama itself is part love story and part corporate family drama. The love story, from the very beginning, had me hooked because it was so sweet. It had the obvious obstacles that happen in most kdrama romances, but the real focus was on their connection, and support for each other, which made me love their relationship more. The corporate drama, which normally I start to zone out on, actually kept me engaged too, because of Cha Dong Joo and Jang Joon Ha's bromance. Backstabbing, jealousy, and revenge can get pretty boring when the characters are shallow, but because the relationships were so strong, I was totally engaged. That's why I gave this drama a high rewatch value. I could definitely see myself watching this again.

I will also give music a 10 because it plays such a huge part in the story. Music brings Dong Joo and Woo Ri together. Music is how the family gets through hard times. It's not that the soundtrack is exceptional as much as how much the music connected me more to the drama. One scene where Dong Joo sings is a perfect example of how a song doesn't have to be beautiful to convey a beautiful moment.

Overall, the theme of this drama is family, the kind of family that goes far beyond blood relationships. It conveys that in beautiful, touching, and bizarre ways (Kim Yeo Jin, I'm looking at you). With that theme in mind, there were no lost moments in this drama for me, and even the ridiculous started to make sense. The final episode is where the theme really hit home for me, and the ending was absolutely perfect.

This drama is probably not for everyone, and is a pretty big commitment, but I would recommend people giving it a try. I know I am now no longer going to avoid a drama based simply on episode count, because time flies when you're having fun (even when "fun" means crying your eyes out, or yelling at the screen).

This is the kind of drama that you can't enjoy if you watch it with a logical brain, you have to watch it with an open heart to really enjoy it.

So, I just finished this amazing drama and i really dont understand, how someone could not like it :D

As I watched the last few minutes of the show, i cryied, laughed and felt so many feelings, that i just cant describe with words. But i will say this: it was the most heartwarming, family based drama i have ever seen. The story was amazing (esp the idea about hearing impaired main character), actors all axceptional. Sometimes, maybe they cryied a little bit too much, all this screeming and emotions just bursted up. But after all, it was still light and great to watch. That is why i love it so much.

The main pairing was absolutely lovely and cute. They just loved each other despite all the hatred in their families. Their relationship was natural, cute and fun to watch. They didnt have any heavy feelings or hate :)

I know, that the ending was a little bit... too dreamy. You know... everyone is happy, big family. The bad guys turned up to be the good guys and so. We all know, that something like this would never happen in the real life. But that is also the reason, why CYHMH is so good - its dreamy, cute, funny, light.

I would recommend this to everyone, who wants to spend their time with interesting stor that will lighten up their days with great characters and happy feeling. Go for it, you wont be disappointed.

Holy epic feel-train, Batman; I'm overdosing on fangirling!

Can You Hear My Heart basically just stole my life for three days, seeing as how I sat and glommed the 30 hour spectacularium and ignored personal responsibilities and my social life. The two interconnected families of this drama and their relationship was the entire basis of the story, and the bromance between our two main leads stole my heart almost more than the leading love story between our hero and heroine. Summarizing this thing is impossible, because the plot is so entrenched in character and their relationships! If anything, though, the drama is a beautiful commentary on how one wrong decision can ripple out and effect so many lives. How a quest for revenge can be your own downfall, and how what you often curse as being abhorrent can actually be the one thing you want more than anything else.

Yes this review is spasmodic and yes I'm doing a terrible job at explaining how beautiful the characters and story are, how amazingly the cinematography and directing decisions were, and just how hardcore emotionally invested you WILL be if you decide to watch!

Just finished watching this drama and i must say that it was one of my favourites. It had an amazing chemistry and a plot. The cast's acting was really strong and each of them really played their role perfectly. The main reason why i must recommened this drama to all the readers is because this drama not only has the perfect taste of romance but has a turn and twist in each and every episode. At first i was a bit bored and there was a time i even wanted to drop it that was uptil episode 5. It was mainly because i felt the chemistry wasnt boiling up and it was all about their childhood but then i realize if the drama didnt have those 5 first episodes the whole plot would have turned into a disaster. I would like to salute the cast's acting skills starting from the youngest actors to the eldest. 30 episodes were necessary for this so those who are freaking out seeing the quantity i assure you, that the quality would cover up the quantity and it really is a must watch. The ending was very cute and this drama kept my curiousity alive till the very last moment. You can watch it in dramacrazy.net for those who cant access viki due to regional issues. Thank you, i hope this review has encouraged you to watch this wonderful drama.

I started this drama because of the theme. It's rare to watch those thematics on kdramas, so I was expecting a lot.

The cast is good, and its characters too.
But for Jun Ha/Ma Roo's character.. this guy gave me mixed feelings. He seemed a maniac sometimes, I loved him as much as I hated him. I wish the scriptwriters could be a bit more human and show some feelings too. He seemed to "go where the wind take him".

However, on the contrary of other reviews here, I found this drama not long at all. I mean, truth that it was 30 episodes, but I have watched dramas with only 14 episodes that dragged the story a lot more. This just gets boring when we reach the 25th, 26th episode... I had to forbid myself from doing fast-forward (hehe)

This is a good drama, at least for entertainment. I was a bit sad that they didn't develop the guy's sickness a bit more or show more romantic scenes... . They leave around the middle some loose tips, and don't really explain things sometimes, but it was good.

If you are planning to watch this because of the matter of deafness I suggest you to check jdramas instead. This one was more focused on other things than it.

Out of all the dramas I've watched, this has got to be the most dramatic of them all!
Maybe it was the over-exaggerated BGM that made me feel like I was watching an American soap-opera parody... During very climatic scenes there were times where I just couldn't help but roll my eyes, due to the BGM.. and it made me feel bad, because obviously those scenes were meant to be taken seriously.

BUT! Despite that one problem I had while watching this drama, everything else about it was PERFECT! The acting that was delivered by both the child and adult actors were spot on. I was forever conflicted on which male lead to support... along the way, I couldn't help but fall in love with Nam Goong Min's character. He was just one of those dark characters you wanted to hug and smack some sense into. I know, contradicting.

Watching this drama can be emotionally-draining with its twists and turns.. you're either really happy.. or incredibly depressed.. But if you can handle those feelings, it's a drama that will leave you touched. I laughed and cried my heart out watching this drama.

Can You Hear My Heart has the best list of characters compared to many of the rest.

My rating of 9 is basically a 10. But nothing is perfect, so I never give anything a 10. But Can You Hear My Heart came close. The ending killed me a little bit because it was just a bit stupid considering the events of the series, but that's a minor gripe.

It wasn't as sad as I thought it would be. I mean, it was sad. And I cried a lot. But for some reason I had expected it to be a lot worse. And I don't watch sad shows, so the fact that I loved this despite the fact that it made me cry, means it was exceptional.

All of the relationships and the characters were so well done, and brilliantly acted. Brother to brother, brother to sister, boyfriend to girlfriend, friend to friend, mother to daughter, mother to son, father to son. So many relationships, and so many problems, and even with the sometimes soap opera-esque staring and the occasional bad editing, they made you feel for them with every bone in your body. Every character had something about them that made you want to keep watching them, even if it was because you hated them so much you wanted to watch them die. And trust me, there are several characters that you hate with every fibre of your being.

I didn't really notice the music that much. Which is a good thing. Nothing worse than those dramas where they play the same song so much that by the end of the show, you want to buy the record just so you can smash it into pieces.

It did get quite depressing in the last few episodes. Not as many funny scenes. I can't believe it was a 30 episode series, and I actually enjoyed the entire thing. Usually drama's that go for more than 16 episodes tend to drag out the ending and get a bit boring. But this show, even at 30 episodes, never did.

Credit to the writers, actors, director, and everyone that made this show possible. I'm so very glad I decided to watch it.

I really liked this drama. The basic story line isn't that different from any other drama. There always has to be a hero, there has to be problem for the hero to over come, and it seems like you can't have a k-drama without an evil mother or two. However, the interactions between Cha Dong Joo and Jang Joon Ha really stuck with me. This is definitely a drama I will watch over again and again.

Regardless of the previous reviews, I'm going to go all out on this one. Firstly, the story: It isn't a deep-meaning or soul-searching drama so if you're looking for that: this isn't one for you. This has a light-hearted feel to it, nothing too serious or too emotional but memorable nonetheless. Breezy, even though the angsty-like plot lines get a little old; they help carry this drama and also leave a deeper impression on you. The cast is made up of amazing actors and I really feel that Kim Jae Won fits his role perfect. Main pairing is too cute for words, but it's hard to just pick one guy in this drama (for me atleast). :) Soundtrack is one of the best of it's time, definitely worth checking out.

Very heartwarming. Only after one episode it makes you want to watch and know more about the story and backgrounds of the characters. Ofcourse it's only the pilot, but still. There has been said/shown here and there, but it attracts you more into the characters.

And than the acting: I love tha acting very much. I have seen many, many dramas, so I can speak of some experience seeing different styles of acting. For example I cried with the little girl when she cried.
Speaking of crying, to my opinion, this is a drama that can easily make you cry. At least for me ^^

The story drags you more and more into it and the excitement between the lovers and the rivals is very interesting and exciting to see.

This is a must-watch for people who aren’t/can’t get tired of watching human-drama where disabilities (such as deafness, mentally disabled (as you will come across in this drama) etc.). If you want to watch a heartwarming, tearjerking drama, than you’re at the right adress..

If you're not watching this drama, what are you waiting for???

Ok 30 episodes is a little daunting to take on at first and the first 5 episodes of this is setting up the storyline but whoa and behold this drama blew me away. The plot line never once failed me and each episode flew by quickly. Excellent casting and unbelievable acting was done by all involved in this project.

The transition from child actors to adult is done flawlessly and at time you find yourself missing the kids they once were.

I think what I respected most in this drama is that no one is without redemption and that all the characters grow and develop through their mistakes. At that the main leads stay true to their characterizations and stay true to who they are and are not swayed to follow the paths of others.

Brilliant drama I cannot say enough about it. It's the best thing I have ever watched. Lots of touching scenes and a great romance weaved in between. You will not be let down in watching this saga. I went back and watched this over and over again because it left me with a Can You Hear My Heart coma I could not wake myself up from nor did I want to.

I recommend this drama to everyone.
