this drama has made it to my top 3. I cannot believe I put it off for so long. This was a treat to watch and I'm said to hear that it did not get the ratings it deserves in Korea. But oh well, we live in a global age so I'm pretty sure the international recognition makes up for it
Since KMHM and healer have some similarities, I'll go ahead and say I loved this more than healer. With healer, there were times I felt my interest dwindle, when my attention would wander. KMHM kept me hooked. I know some people did not like the many flashbacks but I did not mind them (I loved goblin and that had soooo many flashbacks) in fact, every time the show revisited the past, I would find myself noticing details I hadn't before. How even the simplest of phrases uttered by our leads had so much more to them. I loved that particularly.
I watched (and dropped) Secret fairly recently. I did not like the plot, I thought it was boring and the characters were unlikeable (to me at least). But I could not deny that the leads had chemistry and that their acting was top notch.
In Secret, it was Hwang jung eum who captured my attention. But in KMHM it was ji sung. By this I don't mean that his acting wasn't good in Secret or that her acting wasn't good in KMHM. It's just that in secret we saw more of the female lead's emotional scars which automatically gave her more to work with. While in KMHM, ji sung had to play 7 people so obviously my attention remained on him. But hwang jung eum held her own and I loved her in this show too.
Cast was amazing. Story was amazing. I'm playing the ost on loop. Shin se gi and cha do hyun were charming and I loved watching them struggle with each other. Company politics was in the background which is how I like it. Not once did I get bored, no episode felt like it was a mere filler. I was hooked from beginning to end.
So why not a 10? This is a close 10 but there were two things that bothered me a little
Firstly, there was no need to show that Oh ri on had feelings for Oh ri jin. I loved the bond these step siblings shared and I felt that ri on having feelings for ri jin only added needless complications to that beautiful bond. It had no relevance to the plot and seemed like a forced attempt at creating a second lead (wasn't required since we had shin se gi, that lump of appeal lol)
And secondly, I preferred the scenes when the FL would let her tears flow silently with the occasional sniffle. When she would wail-cry, I felt the scene didn't have have the same emotional touch. It was okay to show her wailing for a few seconds and then mute the rest, so that the viewers could see the agony on her face. But it kept going on and on and on....
Those are the only things that bothered me
Other than that, this show is prettu terrific and I would recommend that anyone putting it off for whatever reason should watch it immediately.

Over all I would have to say that this drama was a bit dissapointing because of all the high rewievs. I will not say that this is a bad drama don't take me wrong, but there are several flaws with it.

Story wise the drama was pretty good, but at some point (think it was around episode 12 or something) i thought to my self: what more kan they do with this? I think they could have made this show a few episodes shorter, because some episodes are filled with stuff that dosen't move the plot forward at all.
i think this is a personal thing, but i didn't really like the characters. i found some of them annoying, like Oh Ri On . And  I found the whole twin brother kinda  being in love with his sister fucked up.  This is actually something that ruined the show quite a bit for me. But i did like the different personalities.
But the biggest problem i had was the innacurate display of a mental illness like D.I.D. I Know that it is drama and that i shoulden't expect much from it when handelig this theme, but it was quite dissapointing. I believe when handeling things like this, you should display it in a propper way. Not necesseraly in a serious and boring way, but diferent from this.
It did have a ton of funny bits that cheered up the quite dreary story at times, which i enjoyed.

Something i have to abselutely praise is the actig in this show. Obvioussely the actig of the main character Cha Do Hyeon played by Ji Sung, his acting was outstanding. Seeing him handle 7 different roles, and changing so quickly, as well as being so convinsing was incredible. The chemestry between Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum was also great.

The music in the show was  quite good, i ended up singing the main song all the time after watching this. The change from soft volcal singing to ruffer rapping in this song suited the whole of the drama quite well. they could have had a few more songs to the soundtrak.

Personally i woulden't rewatch this drama that often, probeny because i diden't connect enougth with the characters to watch it over and over.

This drama is a good one, i did enjoy it in the end and it was exiting to find out about the past of these characters, and the plot twists was quite intriguing. I would probably recomand this to others.

I've known that Kill Me, Heal Me is considered one of the best mainstream K-dramas, so I've always known that I had to eventually get around to it, even if the plot didn't interest me too much. What got me motivated to watch is seeing Ji Sung's impeccable acting in Doctor John - I just needed to see him in something else. So I finally gave Kill Me, Heal Me a shot.

Ji Sung did not disappoint. He portrayed each personality exceptionally well with true, solid distinctions that made it obvious who he was in a believable way.
Hwang Jung Eum was surprisingly good and Park Seo Joon was a fun plus to the story.
Acting was overall enjoyable and actors in general were well cast.

In regards to the plot, I wasn't too impressed. I didn't dislike the drama, but there were some loose ends that weren't thoroughly resolved in the end and some of the plot devices are a bit overused in the K-drama world of today and therefore, unbelievable/predictable, lacking the impact they were meant to inflict.

What kind of fell flat to me was the ending. I think that the bad guys were written pretty black-and-white for the first 3/4 of the story and then in the last 2 or 3 episodes they are all of a sudden more complex beings and not all bad. This didn't flow well to me because the shift was very abrupt and inconsistent with the rest of the drama.

I think something else that was lacking from the ending was the relationship resolution between Do Hyun and his first cousin. It was implied that they would eventually have a big scene together fighting or whatnot, but it never happened, which left me wanting for something more. It was implied that they had a close relationship as children and that it needed to be mended as adults, but they barely had any scenes together throughout the whole drama. Which brings me to wonder, was it really necessary to include the cousin as a "villain" who was relatively harmless compared to the bigger demons Do Hyun was coming to terms with?

On the plus side, this drama had WAY more birth secrets than I thought it would AND I was genuinely surprised twice, which is a good thing. XD

Anyways, Kill Me, Heal Me is a decent drama and I understand how it became such a huge mainstream drama, but it personally lacks that extra umph that gets me to weep and rejoice with the characters. Honestly, I think that this drama gets all the attention as being a "must-see" because it's one of the few that deals with mental illness as the main plot device, which is good, don't get me wrong (mental illness is definitely under-represented in media and *should* be recognized), but just because the drama is addressing a minority concept doesn't mean that it's automatically amazing.

Kill Me, Heal Me has flaws, just like every drama, and for me personally, the great moments of this drama did not outweigh it's shortcomings for me to glaze over the flaws. What kept me watching was Shin Se Gi (he was my favorite character) and the small comedic moments sprinkled throughout (especially through Ahn Yo Na). And for those of you who are wondering if this is a romantic comedy - I wouldn't consider this a romantic comedy. It is much more of a melodrama - there's a lot of well-deserved crying and emotional outbursts in the second half of this drama that shifts the genre significantly to me.

Oh! And I would really like to add that while Hallucination the OST is AMAZING, the instrumental piece that sounds like a circus' theme song is TERRIFYING and every time it came on, I desperately hoped that it would shut off. XD

The story takes off sprinting and is instantly captivating. As each layer of the puzzle is peeled off, we get deeper into the intrigue and family secrets. I enjoyed the way the story was told, we're shown a man whose mind is playing tricks on him and controlling his life in a very real sense. The mental illness DID ( dissociative identity disorder) is shown in a compelling way.
This drama also has the issue of fate or destiny between the two main leads, they have an intertwined past and meet in the present in the right circumstances to enable them to solve the mystery of their childhood.
The love story is inevitable and I must say it didn't capture my interest too much, the chemistry was off in my opinion; Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum had much better chemistry in Secret.

The acting in this is very good. Hats off to Ji Sung for bringing his seven persona's to life in such an authentic and heart wrenching way, he is an amazingly intuitive actor.
Hwang Jung Emu held her own and provided some much needed levity in this story; I did feel at times that she was a bit shrill and didn't inject her character with enough nuance.
I also really enjoyed Park Seo Joon, he was wonderfully conflicted and I especially like the way he resolved his inner conflict unlike other second leads, he gave up on his unrealistic dream of being in love with his stepsister and instead became a strong support for both her and her new love.
Kim Yoo Ri's role is negligible, why was she even there? It was a waste of a decent actress, they could have fleshed out her character a bit more, the same goes for Oh Min Suk, his character fell flat and there ultimately wasn't much to him.

I think this drama should have just had the standard 16 episodes because it began to drag in the later episodes, I found myself wanting it to end, and the incessant flashbacks didn't help matters either.

I loved a few tunes in the OST especially "Auditory Hallucination" it's a great song

I gave this drama an overall score of 8, and I am unlikely to rewatch it, but I did enjoy it enough while I watched it.

Mental illness is never an easy topic to tackle in the world of entertainment so I would like to start off this review by applauding the writer, producers, cast and crew for embarking on difficult journey to tell a story that in essence can be a part torn from real life.

This was a drama that I've watched mostly from in between my tears because it as a very strong emotional tone that sustains the entire plot line. Coupled with the absolutely stunning acting from Ji Sung who interpreted every single alter of Cha Do Hyun with the widest range of emotions and behaviors that you can imagine, you have a story that will completely draw you in and dehydrate you to the maximum from all the tears you will shed.

The entire cast did a very good job but Ji Sung stole the show with his interpretation of all the facets of Cha Do Hyun's personality. While all the alters had distinctive outer features you could recognize them by when they appeared, the masterful acting from Ji Sung resided in his facial expressions. He managed to capture and express the uniqueness of each personality with just his facial expressions and his eyes. I was completely mesmerized with him! I LOVED his acting in Defendant and was expecting nothing less than amazing from him in this series, which is insanely famous for him, but it exceeded my expectations completely! What an actor!!

Hwang Jung Eum did a very good job portraying Oh Ri Jin as well. Albeit some of her behaviors seemed a bit exaggerated in some scenes it does not deter from her beautiful portrayal of emotions that she displays throughout the series. Her crying scenes were so convincing that I could feel tears welling up the moment she got emotional. Well done!

And of course the incredible Park Seo Joon as Oh Ri On, Ri Jin's brother! I'm sure I don't have to say a lot about his excellent acting skills! I especially felt very close to the character he played in this drama. Without spoiling anything he is a very mature, grounded, loving character that you will not be able but love with all your heart.

The plot closely connected to the two main characters is very well done and quite intricate. For a while I could not fully figure out the entire story behind what had transpired in their past to push them to the limits of their sanity but once you get to know everything you understand the tragedy of their childhood and you are hit, like a thousand bricks, with anguish and hopelessness of their childhood years.

However I did duck some points from the drama because I was not satisfied at all with the ending of some of the characters that had a direct or indirect hand in producing the tragedy in our two main leads' lives. I won't say anymore because I don't want to give any spoilers but I feel some characters were either let off the hook too easily or their ending was not presented at all. There was no paying or atonement for what they had done and that's infuriating to me, especially when you experience the immense heartbreak that Cha Do Hyun and Oh Ri Jin went through because of them.

All in all a gorgeous, poignant, incredibly well acted drama that is totally worth seeing and re-watching!

This drama was not one of the typical Korean dramas. It was a psychological thriller series and I really admired the acting of Ji Sung. He is one of the best actor and one can't differentiate whether he is acting or not. He becomes the character and he gives us what we wants. The sole reason I watched this drama was because of male leading actor. Though I was first annoyed by female lead at times, Ji Sung took over the stage. He overshadowed everyone. It is not easy job for anyone to act 7 different roles. If not Ji Sung who can do that? If you watch this drama all you will see is Ji Sung and will fall in love with him

I saw this drama the same year I saw Healer (2015) and I have to say they are the best dramas I watched on 2015.

Kill me Heal me is a well rounded story, it has romance, suspense, comedy and even some action. One of the strong points of this drama is that there's no love triangle, the romance is pretty straightforward and sweet. The story will intrigue you since the first episode and you won't be able to stop watching.

The plot is so well made that the story keeps moving at an excellent speed and there's no boring parts at all.

The cast is superb, everyone acted they roles excellent and Ji Sung was the perfect choice for this role. He interprets all the personalities different and you really feel you're seeing a different person there. I don't think any other actor could have made this role a success. I'm his fan since I saw him here, and will be forever.

There are many people who think Hwang Jung Eum's acting i over the top most of the times, but I think her chemistry with Ji Sung is awesome and that they work together perfectly.

You'll really enjoy de suspense in the plot since you'll never figure out all the plot twist that keep coming and the truth hidden at the end of this journey. The script is one of the best I have seen with a romance-suspense story since it has the right balance an mount of each.

Finally the OST is ver memorable specially "Auditory Hallucinations" the mix of the female singer and the rapper make an outstanding song that keeps playing in your memory for a long time.

I was very funny at times, crazy at times with the violence and had a good amount of family tension. The only thing they never cleared in the whole series is why Do Hyuns cousins hated him so much other than his father having family beef to be in control of their family business. I could of been he hated his cousin being better than him or they both liked the same girl at some point but it was never really made clear to why he went after his cousin so hard it didn’t seem like he was being really pressured by his father to do it so it seem like he really didn’t like his cousin or just was brainwashed to hate the main family. Other then that it was so sad to see Chan Do Hyun suffer with D.I.D. Some of the personalities where so funny and the actor playing Do Hyun did a really good job playing a man with multiple personality disorder. He had me crying a few times especially near the end when Shin Se Gi departed and left Do Hyun I didn’t want to see Se Gi go. When I found out that both Do Hyun and Oh Ri Jin where both in that basement together I started crying so much. Poor Do Hyun had to split him self to protect her real got to me that poor child having to experience that at 7 years old really pulled at my heart strings. The character that really made me laugh was Yo Na I really loved her fan girl obsession at times and when he started calling Ri On her oppa while in Do Hyuns body. I wish we could of seen how the multiple personalities would of looked like if they weren’t a personality but as how they saw themselves like if they where real people. I really recommend this if you are curious if this is good. Oh and before I forget I would of liked to of known what happened to Do Hyuns father if he went to jail or a hospital for what he did to Ri Jin and Do Hyun after he woke up from his 21 year coma, they just left him in his hospital room crying for his sins.

Review:Kill Me, Heal Me (2015)

I have found this drama so fascinating that I haven’t stopped to take notes but just bulldozed my way through trying to interpret this puzzle about how this man got to have these different personalities and how he is trying to cope with them. This is a totally different drama than all of the other ones I have watched.

Hwang Jung Eum/Oh Ri Jin is falling in love with all of his different personalities for after all they are all him.

Now that I have completed watching this drama I’m analysing how I feel because its a story like know other that I have watched. It was mesmerising. It had strange deja vu as the different characters were revealed. They were him but some one completely different. Its hard to understand that that these things can really happen. It was portrayed so well in this drama. The two main actors were outstanding in the roles that they played as these two really lost people who fate and destiny had brought back together after so many years to reveal their stories of hurt and pain. It was very well done.

Ji Sung/Cha Do Hyeon - This is the first time I’ve watched this actor and what an exceptional, unique and noteworthy role he played as these various characters. He was outstanding at characterizing each ones personalities.

Here are the personalities

Shin Se-Gi: Looks like a rock star, fights like a MMA champion. He doesn’t allow Do-Hyun to be bullied. Also, in an unusual twist, he is the man stuck in the second lead syndrome. - He was awesome I loved this character. I never wanted him to leave. As I have said before I love bad boys

Perry Park: A happy-go-lucky ajussi who loves fishing and has a knack for building bombs. -The guy was fun and full of life the oldest.

Yo-Sub: An artistic and sensitive high school boy who is suicidal. The series title comes from an incident where he writes, “Kill Me,” prior to his plan to commit suicide. Upon finding this, Ri-Jin changes his graffiti to, “Heal Me.” - This boy was too serious,

Yo-Na: Yo-Sub’s twin sister. The 17-year-old loves K-Pop and handsome men, like Ri-Jin’s twin brother, Ri-On. - This girl was the funniest. She was a handful for everyone to handle.

Na-Na: A 7-year-old who embodies the traumas Do-Hyun remembers from his childhood. - Lovely Nana was the remembrance of their childhood together.

Mr. X: Looks like a magician. Behaves like a father. - This guy came to magic them all back together.

Hwang Jung Eum/Oh Ri Jin and Park Seo Joon/Oh Ri On [Ri Jin's Brother] I watched in “She Was Pretty”
