Great performance by Janice Wu couldn't save this series
Like others, I found myself fastforwarding scenes that didn't involve the MCs. I find that Chinese dramas tend to have a lot of side stories and fillers but not all of them are engaging or well-written. I enjoyed the performance of my current fave C-actress Janice Wu while Tao was just okay. I like Boxu's supportive sister and found that even his Dad, except for that extreme attempt to bring his son around, was quite reasonable for someone with his wealth. I agree that Zhen Zhen's character could have been explored in depth instead of subjecting us to countless repetitive scenes on the business side of the music industry or even her best friend's infatuation.Cet avis était-il utile?
Stress Reliever
When I first introduced this to my family, they initially looked at me like I was crazy. But eventually, they started laughing like loons at all the hilarious scenarios that take place during the short but sweet run of this series. Both leads played their parts perfectly and you 'd never expect how two dissimilar individuals would be as close ask they would be. I looked forward to every wacky encounter and loved the open ending which gives the audiences a sliver of hope that someday somehow season 2 will follow.Cet avis était-il utile?

Top 2 favorite C-drama
As someone who be usually watches K-dramas then J-dramas, I'm glad I took the chance of watching this Netflix recommendation and marathoned the whole show in a couple of days.I love, love, love the OTP. Gu Wei To was a bungling sweetheart when he realized how he felt for Situ Mo and tried confessing through the different ways his equally clueless colleagues suggested while Situ Mo was just so fierce but at the same time cute and supportive. It would be perfect if not for the side stories which could have used significant streamlining since I found myself automatically fastforwarding when I got to those scenes.
Don't look for major dramatic twists and heartwrenching scenarios. Just enjoy the fluffy slice-of-life episodes as a way to destress and unwind. I've downloaded this to my phone and enjoy rewatching my favorites scenes to lighten my mood.
