SO MUCH MORE than just a fangirling/idol drama! This had depth, emotion, and LOVE.
The synopsis focuses on Deuk Mi's secret life as a fangirl, but this story goes FAR beyond that! This drama tells the story of friendship, family, acceptance, and above all - LOVE.I was honestly surprised where the drama ended up going story-wise since I was not expecting it. It was so deep and I felt like I was in a rollercoaster. There were so many hilarious moments (especially around her fangirling) that made me literally laugh out loud. How fangirling was depicted in this drama was so painfully true as well (I could relate!)! But then, there were these heart-wrenching moments of self-reflection and forgiveness that made me cry my eyes out.
The level of maturity in this drama was outstanding. Again, the synopsis focuses on her fangirling. Kiiind of immature sounding, right? Wrong. This drama hits on so many points: from pro-LGBTQ+ (this was done deliciously well and so funny too), to searching for one's passion, finding one's worth, and forgiveness. There were so many things that came together at the end and it's just beautiful.
Also, I am in LOVE with our male lead's character. Sure, he's first portrayed as that cold and aloof male who seems to have it all figured out; but we later learn that that's not really the case. He had lost himself along the way and was on a journey to find himself again. We also see him actually apologize for his wrongdoings, talk about his emotions, and CRY about his feelings. We see him at his worst and we see him at his best. He was not the one-dimensional male leads we often see these days - we see him as the strong male lead we love to watch but glimpse his vulnerability as well.
And speaking of strong leads... shout out to our female lead. Strong and independent woman right there.
Last, the icing on the cake for me was our leads' incredible chemistry. It almost felt voyeuristic watching this drama because it honestly felt like I was watching a real-life couple. They had some bumps before they to admitting their feelings, but boy was it worth it. Their touches, their smiles, their KISSES, their conversations... it was all just perfect.
Supporting leads were amazing as well. Cindy became a favourite.
Overall, Her Private Life was a well-executed drama that gave me a pleasant surprise!

Reaper x Sunny and the bromance overshadowed the actual plot of this story.
Full disclosure: I watched this drama because I needed to see more of Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na in leading roles after watching (and loving!) Touch Your Heart. I was always hesitant to watch Goblin because I've heard just how heartbreaking it was. I came in fully prepared knowing that I would cry my eyes out.And I did... but not for the main couple. I cried for the bromance of Goblin and Reaper. I cried for the romance between Reaper and Sunny. I even cried for the souls that Reaper led to the afterlife! But, I did not cry for Goblin and his bride and even skipped some of their scenes. The main reason for that was because I could NOT relate at all with the female lead. She acted like such a child for most of the drama... which is understandable since her character was a nineteen-year-old high-schooler!!
My biggest gripe was that there was such a big difference in station between the male lead Kim Shin and the female lead Eun Tak. The ML was a powerful figure even in present-day; he literally can use magic, owns a mansion, has many people doing his bidding, and is incredibly rich. He also looks like he's in his mid-30s (no shade against Gong Yoo, just stating facts). Meanwhile, the FL was a poor, penniless high-schooler. She's 19 for most of the drama. There was SUCH an imbalance of power - in their experiences, because he's so much older than she, and in their social statuses as well. It was very disconcerting to see a romantic relationship develop between them.
On the flip side, the bromance between Goblin and Reaper was great. Their interactions with each other were one of my favourites to see. The reveal later on in the drama broke my heart.
What outshined everything was Reaper and Sunny's relationship. You knew from the moment they met that they were doomed in this lifetime. But the WHY was hidden until later and the reveal, again, was heartbreaking. But they pushed through, they accepted their fates... and they had their happy ending.
So, to summarize:
Story: It was ok. I did not care for the female lead and even the main plot of Goblin needing his bride to pull the sword from his chest was overshadowed later on by Reaper's past.
Acting/Cast: Everyone played their parts well. As much as I disliked the female lead, Go Eun did a great job playing a high schooler in my opinion. My favourite was Dong Wook. He had me laughing with his hilarious outbursts and made me cry for his conversations with the souls and his expressive eyes.
Music: They didn't have a lot of variety. The same music was played over and over again for the dramatic scenes. It wasn't my taste either.
Rewatch Value: I wouldn't watch this drama in full. Can I just get a cut of the Reaper/Sunny moments and the bromances? Lol.
Overall: An OK drama. If they had aged up the female lead, or aged down the male lead, then this drama wouldn't feel so... icky in some parts. Watch it for Reaper/Sunny, and then watch Touch Your Heart afterwards!

This drama took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I can't wait to go back and re-watch it in full. I love how it is more "adult" than the usual dramas these days. Without giving too many things away, it addresses the themes of sickness, marriage, family, and strength. It's a refreshing change from other dramas because you get to see their lives AFTER they have fallen in love. Usually a drama ends when the leads get together and their main obstacle has been overcome. But that isn't real life. Watching this drama, I felt that I was privileged enough to actually catch a glimpse of a real couple's journey as they deal with whatever life throws at them.
Do yourself a favour and watch this drama.

What more is that the relationship between the male and female leads is HONEST and HEALTHY. They had GREAT communication which meant there wasn't a lot of misunderstandings between the two of them. They were a team, and it showed. There were SO many swoon-worthy moments too since they were just so adorable together.
I greatly recommend this drama and I will DEFINITELY be rewatching!

Women uplifting women.
We love to see a drama where women are portrayed as STRONG, INDEPENDENT, CAPABLE. There are no damsels in distress here - these are women who knows what they're capable and faces every challenge head-on.This drama was honestly so refreshing to watch. We see such beautiful friendship between three (and then four) women from the lowest class who overcomes all adversity based on their own skills and capabilities. We see such a MATURE, SWEET, and SEXY romance blossom between our main leads that had me swooning by the end. Their chemistry was so palpable that it honestly felt REAL. The plot was engaging. The end was satisfying.
I cried. I laughed. I giggled at all of the romantic moments. This drama had EVERYTHING and had catapulted itself to the top of my favourite Chinese costume dramas list.
Don't second guess yourself. Just watch it!

Must watch for Wang Kai's and Wang Ziwen's chemistry alone!
Wang Kai's and Wang Ziwen's chemistry as Dr. Zhao and Qu Xiao Xiao is OFF THE CHARTS! They were the highlight of the show for me, and I always looked forward to their scenes. I especially liked how we see their relationship evolve from lust and infatuation to true love. They had their numerous ups and very heartbreaking downs and in the end, I was truly rooting for the two of them. Seeing them again is enough reason for me to rewatch the whole series. We see the rest of the ladies of the 22nd floor blossom in their relationships in this season. Season 1 was more about establishing their personalities and careers, while season 2 really shows us their relationships.
We continue the saga of Fan Sheng Mei's melodramatic family and her own maturing romantic relationship. The scenes with her family are so heartbreaking since it rings true with many of us. It tells the story of feeling trapped by familial obligation and never being able to escape all of their expectations.
We see Andie open up in this season with the help of her new beau, VP Bao. Andie remained to be that steadfast voice of reason that's always there for the girls when they need someone.
Guan Guan and Xiao Ying did a lot of growing up this season. We see Guan Guan meet a man who's so different from her and we see her let go of her admiration for Dr. Zhao from Season 1. Xiao Ying had a lot of troubles with her own boyfriend and his family's disapproval. One of my favourite scenes is when the ladies of the 22nd floor rally around Xiao Ying and defend her against the harsh words of her (ex) boyfriend's mom.
Overall, this drama was a great portrayal of sisterhood, friendship, family, and love. I laughed, I cried, and I never wanted it to end.
I will definitely be watching again, and I'm always hoping for a season 3!!

This is now my favourite romcom drama ever.
It's RARE that I watch a drama while it's still airing, but A Business Proposal had me hooked since the first episode. I read the webtoon and was anticipating the release of this drama, and it certainly did not disappoint. This has now cemented itself as my favourite romcom drama ever, and with good reason! My husband loves it too, and he doesn't usually watch dramas with me!1. Story
Fake dating turned secret office romance. It's tropey, sure, but the drama executed it so well! I'm not usually a fan of "fake" anything, but this was resolved very quickly and truths are revealed quite soon. In fact, a lot of the conflicts introduced within the episode are resolved by the end of the episode. Also, can we talk about how many tropes this drama subverts?? So many different tropes are introduced, but how the characters deal with them are unlike anything I've seen before. It results in so many hijinks and fun moments. This drama is so hilariously self-aware that it is refreshing to watch. EVERYTHING about this drama was refreshing to watch. I love how we get to see a very strong sismance and bromance. Ha-ri and Young-seo's friendship is so real. They're two strong, independent women who truly love and support each other. Then we have the bromance of Tae-moo and Sung-hoon. We see them act as boss/secretary, but also as two brothers who love to tease each other while still being each other's voice of reason (moreso in the case of Sung-hoon to Tae-moo, haha). And of course, the two love stories of our couples Ha-ri/Tae-moo and Young-seo/Sung-hoon are not to be discounted either! There were SO many swoon-worthy scenes that left me giggling and blushing. This drama has the TWO hottest scenes I've ever scene in a kdrama from recent memory.
2. Acting/Cast
Amazing. There was so much chemistry between all of the cast members that it almost felt voyeuristic watching the characters they play since it all felt SO REAL. It was like I was just looking on at someone's real life.
3. Music
Love the OST.
4. Rewatch Value
I mean... I kept rewatching previous episodes while waiting for the new ones to come out so I'd say rewatch value is a solid 10 out of 10! I can see myself rewatching this many more times in the future. This is the perfect drama to feel happy.
Overall, this was a wonderful drama and my new favourite. I am genuinely sad it is over. I can only hope we see the actors in more projects together. Their chemistry is unreal!!

Enjoy the sweetness!
This was just a very sweet drama overall! The main leads killed it in my opinion - I love how they were with each other and you really end up believing in their relationship. Storywise, it was good! If you're looking for a drama with little to no conflict then this drama is for you. I felt that it also showed a nice progression with their relationship. The two leads were engaged at birth by their moms who were best friends. However, both never really took the engagement seriously. A twist of fate had our female lead meeting the male lead and the story really kicks off from there. I won't say much more since it was a fun ride.Enjoy it for the fluff for it will surely leave a smile on your face!
