"Boule de Suif Much?"
A "Boule de Suif" type of story, except the fact that all the bad characters are considered normal people with difficult conditions who should be understood no matter how badly they treat the FL. It was out in 2016, so I expected a dose of sexism, but not to the point of normalizion the sexual harrasment from ML, and him being portrayed as someone too submissive for his own goodCet avis était-il utile?
Korean entertainment loves cheating husbands
This is another kdrama enabling cheating husbands.I found the involvment of children in the affairs .. yikes.
Also what the hell is going on with that age gap relationship, it was disgusting!!
Why would they use the past of these characters to justify clearly bad action? It's really outstanding that the writer is a woman.
Kudos for the FL for carrying the burden of the rest of the cast, she managed to show a wide range of emotions throughout the series, and this is an unbiased review, it's not related to her playing the role of the victim.

This movie normalizes rape.
This movie normalizes rape.Trigger warning 55:00 : Rape scene. For some reson the producers decided to go on with the story as if a rape didn't just happen.
Navigating human relationships, ethics, and boundaries is one thing, but normalizing sexual assaults is a different thing. Knowing it's a 2005 production I'd say it's not that unexcpected, humanity has evolved since then. I'm just leaving a review for people who still don't understand the concept of consent.

Man Who Dies to Live

Unbiased review
As a person who's from the global south, raised in a arabic speaking and muslim majority country, this show offended me for reasons that are in no way related to the misrepresatation of Arabs. Comedy is a hyperbole, and after all, unlike any other ethnicity middle-easterns were at least able to pressure/buy an apology. I don't think the countless times Africans were misrepresented and insulted by the Asian industry have ever been addressed by a TV network or a production team before. That's privilege. The plot would've actually worked if not of the twisted fan servicing the industry keeps engaging in. I even liked how the actors dealt with this poor script.
Now to the actual problems : Why the heck is this show telling us that husbands are expected to cheat, if they don't they should be celebrated, if they do they should be forgiven? Why is the mistreatment of women forgiven and even rewarded? Why are age-gap relationships, sexual assaults and incest the jole here?? I disappointed in the actors who accepted these roles. Why is it normal for in-laws to mistrat a wife, for people to mistreat orphans? Why are they forgiven and rewarded in this drama?
It's giving way too much green light to many many toxic and borderline crimanl behaviors.
What I'm amazed by is how people were offended by the far-fetched comedy regarding a rich conservative country, who nobody believes is true, and not by the actual offensive things that actually happen in reality to women, which is tolerated in the drama.

Zionist Propaganda spotted
Zionist Propaganda spotted: Counterfeit Palestinian Kuffeyeh in a multitude of colors, worn by mercenaries (even if you do like one of them, Pasin for instance, they still represent violent and unlawful humans. Therefore the use of props that represent Palestinians and their freedom fighters, in this context, implicitly dehumanizes Palestinians and vilifies their decolonization efforts.)disney can't help themselves from demonizing Palestinians.
BTW disney, fox and paramount .. donate to i5rael

Zionist Propaganda spotted
Zionist Propaganda spotted: Hyping up a colonizer's fighting style (Krav Maga) desn't make your main character a badass hero, but instead a hateful beast.I also noticed an inclination to hollywood's savior complex. I don't think it's necessary for the Korean entertainment industry to go down that path, but it seems like a trend in their action movies and dramas.

racist since ep 1
Oh god not korea jumping on the racist propaganda associating muslims, arabs and/or arabic speakers to terrorism lolAs if it wasn't enough for korean dramas to hype up the zionist colonial state at every occasion
Too late 2024 made it clear who the real terrorists are, and they will actually be brought up to the icc and icj for supporting the genocide in Gaza.
Also is korea really that bothered by human trafficking or the age of consent? I know of some korean public figures who are known predators and can still walk under the sun there, some of them get featured in kdramas too.
