Great as an in-between watch, classic romcom, p cute!!!
UPDATE: Ok so after completing it, I will say I may have exaggerated my love for this kdrama (my jaded review was made after a confession scene...so sue me if i gave a 10/10 rating then lol. "that was crazy, i've never actually experienced that sort of atmosphere before, it's absolutely electric, the passion" BUT having watched it fully now, I really think the 2nd half was not as charming as the first. It is your classic romcom, I love that, but I just don't know how I feel about tying up loose ends in the very last ep. The jump was a tad jarring and the reunion didn't necessarily pay off in my opinion. Also just a personal note, I understand the need for lesser episodes for less filler but I get pretty irked when the resolution feels rushed for all of the characters in the last episode. If the main climax of the conflict takes so many eps to build up, I feel like the resolution can also take a few episodes. Idk it might just be me. Anyhow, the acting from Jeon Jung Seo was impeccable throughout the show I will say. Her body language & expressions make her character feel so realistic, its insane! I'll def keep an eye out on these actors. The ML is super cute and even the addition of Yoon Chae Won was also great! Also, I never read the webtoon so I'm not sure how it compares besides Yoon Chae Won's addition to the cast. Overall, cute drama, covers all the elements for an angsty, contract marriage-ish trope (more like forced proximity in the drama) so its great as an in between drama. Not too serious, I like the humor kind of reminds me of Business Proposal. Additionally, it has one of my favorite OST's in a long time. Every song, from the main theme to just little piano medleys in pivotal scenes, was enough to fully immerse me into the show. I almost teared up at a point because the soundtrack was so beautiful. I recommend it! And I hope the actors show up in more dramas like it! (:I am in awe of the writing of the characters and the actors executions of them. I've been watching kdramas for a LOOOOONG time, and this one is one where I really feel like the writers took the time to outline and get the audience to truly understand the characters.
The characters motivations being conveyed to audiences so clearly drives the plot and creates scenarios seamlessly. I've been a huge fan on Jung jun Seo since "The Call" so I'm glad I get to see her in a romcom! I hope to see a lot more of her in this genre, she suits it amazingly well. Her quirkiness isn't overplayed in my opinion, and like I said earlier, because her motivations are clear from the beginning, she doesn't fall into the annoying FL trope that can often happen in romcoms. Even though the genre is on the less serious side, it still does keep me on edge and even puts me in the precarious situation the characters find themselves in. The situation is so well thought out, I wouldn't say its too predicable. I may also be a tad bias, contractual marriage tropes are my favorite, but I'm glad it's not too on the nose. The OST during scenes brings me back to the charm of older kdramas so I would give this a chance! The main casts acting is also 10/10, along with the writing so do yourself a favor and watch this drama! I have a feeling I'll be re watching this often! I watched Marry My Husband and had I known this gem was following I would've watched it right way. I binged the first 8 eps in 2 days, and I tend to enjoy waiting more than binging. Overall, acting is amazing and it's because of the amazing writing. it's not too cringe, it truly does feel like I'm watching real people make decisions so please watch! I hope to see Moon Sang Min & Kim Do Wan in projects soon too bc I WILL be following! (:
