Another day, another gritty Korean thriller, this time with friendships involved. I enjoy this genre that Korean cinema seems to do really well. The narrative does keep to its intended track pretty safely - the antagonizing event strikes at a pretty predictable spot in the movie and the characters crack when they're expected to. But as is reflected in the story, the deviant streak that brews under the surface and suddenly erupts still takes you by surprise. Where this movie excels is the casting - I think the casting reflected the characters and the actors' respective inclinations very well. A pretty entertaining movie that leaves you with a little something to think about, but it does evaporate pretty quickly.
