I watched this because China banned its release. I was curious and the movie proved worthy of that curiosity. It wasn't great, but it was one undeniably beautiful movie. I love the dialogues. Sometimes the lines are rather poetic. The actors could even tell more of the story even with no words at all. The film seemed to glorify the simplicity of its plot with good writing and actors.
Have an open mind upon watching this film, but don't get too attached. It's just a film after all.

Dealing with trauma is hard. Using drugs as an escape only makes it worse. We aren't all fortunate to have good support during the hard times. But, we all are trying to live while we can. However, for some, it might no longer be about living but surviving.
Don't watch it expecting a love story. The movie is about pain, suffering, and trying to survive those sh*t. It's a hard-to-watch movie--dealing with things we don't understand always is. If you aren't up for a good challenge, then skip.

In the predictability meter, one would initially rate this very high. I, myself, grinned at how I thought I knew how the story would go. It was constantly light: nothing was totally aggravating nor was there something totally upsetting. One would get pissed at some point, but it'll just be like seeing a poop on your peaceful walk at the park--you see it, not step on it, and just continue walking. Then, you go back to that predictability meter and you'll find it static at 1%. Like, seriously, stop predicting the end and just enjoy the story.
The actors were good. I'm doing this review after watching all three stories, so I have done the "compare and contrast" among the actors. This gave the lightest feel among the three, but that doesn't mean the actors showed an inferior quality of acting. They delivered subtle acting without making me cringe and I think that's a good thing.
I have already watched this thrice and it still gives off that satisfying sigh followed by a lingering smile as the last episode's credit rolls. I don't think that happy aftermath would fade off even when I watch it a few more times. Wait, am I spoiling anything for you? Haha, the question is this... are you sure about your definition of a happy ending?

They say love makes people irrational. We can be unreasonable and our opinion becomes unreliable. Even so, I am writing this review not caring about sense and logic. I just want to gush over the perfection this series has shown us. From the story to the dialogues (YES, those sweet, sweet dialogues that could have been cringe-worthy disasters if not built up and delivered so well in the story and by the actors), one can only praise the writers, the production team and the cast. I'm in love, and I don't think I could get over it soon, I'm not willing to do so.
Perhaps, everyone is excited for the next season especially after it was confirmed that one is under production, but all I have in heart is fear. I don't want its beauty to be tainted or tampered. I can only hope for the best while expecting the worst. #haveFAITH

Every time I watch it, I get the feeling of reading a book by the window while listening to the melodious sound of raindrops kissing the roof, the ground and everything it touches. When I watched it on TV with my mom a few days ago, I realized that it isn't something enjoyed with company. Just like when in that precious moment of a good book by the window and the rain plus the aroma of coffee, interruptions are unwelcomed and company are annoyance.
I read somewhere that this got a Chinese version of a Razzie, but I am not convinced at all. I mean, WHY?

Seriously, if they talked out their problems honestly to each other, Shao Yi Chen won't need to go ten years back in his life. Ugh, but that would mean no hot kisses. NOOO! Hahahahaha!
At first, one could see loopholes dropped after every scene, "why's" just add up, and there were no signs for answers at all.
Then, one gets puzzled as to how exactly did Jin Teng end up breaking Yi Chen's heart? But one can have so many speculations that anything would just add more loopholes to that towering pile of loopholes.
Finally, in the most cringe-worthy dialogue delivered by that not-so-wretched-witch pops the single most justifiable reason to this Chinese-style dilemma.
So, loopholes are slowly patched up, "why's" are replaced with "that's why's". Then, one gets treated with the hottest, most enticing eye candy in BL history (so far); tricking the viewer's mind into thinking that this is the best installment among the three because of this particular scene when in fact the real reason is overshadowed, hidden in the open and unnoticed--every bit of honesty and good communication. Tadaaaaa!
Hahaha, sorry, I know that's confusing but it was just so hard for me to make a review on this story without spoiling anything. "Only in ambiguity did one think one can truly express the beauty of this piece of art." LOL!
Oh, and in case you're wondering why I gave 7.5 to the story when I'm gushing about its beauty, it's because the entity of the story itself is very simple (plus, I watched that BL movie "Rebirth" before this so the premise came off a bit mundane). The dialogues and the ACTORS did it for me (with emphasis to the word actors because that witch made me cringe, ugh!)
Kudos to the main actors, their chemistry was really good... no, better... okay, best. If I weren't so biased, I'd say theirs is better than Timmy and Johnny's. But, I have a loyal heart. So, they tied with Singto and Krist at second place. Oh, the acting... both were good, but if I were to choose the better one, I'd say it's Sen Bernard.
The story predominantly follows Shao Yi Cheng's POV, that said, it is easier to catch up with his emotional growth, and Ren You Cheng delivered the progress fairly. On the other hand, Jiang Jin Teng's character had two entirely different characteristics and it's hard to connect how one admirably quiet and mysterious hottie showed on the flashbacks be the same person as the obsessed hottie that can't seem to live without You Cheng. Sen Bernard did not only deliver the dialogue as written on the script, he also revealed that descriptive paragraph that holds the writer's view on destiny and true love. They were very subtle, and those almost unnoticed micro expressions just means so much.

Do not be deceived by the poster. I really thought it was one mediocre of a movie until I finally gave it a go. The acting was good and so was the story. Like it's title, it kept getting better as the movie progressed. The full circle of the story was heartbreaking, but there is an intangible satisfaction to it.

HIStory: Stay Away From Me

Before her, Love Sick's Pang was my favorite fujoshi in a drama. I must give thanks to HiStory for introducing Meng Meng to the world. I won't actually do what she did, but I can just feel her when she was shipping those boys, and the satisfaction in witnessing that ship sailing. Sorry, but for me, the story was simple and made colorful by that rotten girl, her extreme imagination, and meddling attitude.
Nahhh... everything written above is unreliable. I'm just a BL fangirl, excited by another BL fangirl on screen. Hahaha!
If I were to be critical, I'd say that the premise has been re-used sooooo many times before, thus slightly deflating my bubble of excitement towards the drama. I love all three stories, but I have to say this garners least love, and yes, even though "least" and "love" don't make sense together, I'd put them next to each other just because I love this part of the trilogy as well, not as much as I love the other two, but I love it all the same, and "like" won't be enough to describe my fondness towards every story in this series.
Sorry, but there are just people like me who naturally complicates even the simplest of things.

The story is really good. It is very realistic. I see it happening even while watching the film. However, the actors could have done better. I'm not saying the acting was a total crap, but they failed to properly relay the emotions from the characters to the viewer... or, perhaps it was the camera man that didn't capture them... or, perhaps the director intentionally made things ambiguous to the audience... or, perhaps I was just not paying much attention--UGH! This is why I have to watch it again sometime.

My Bromance: The Series

Initially, I was rooting for this drama because I liked the movie. I hoped they'd change the movie's ending for that was a total bummer. Then, they did; and that got me all hyped up. Unfortunately, the pace of the story dragged on which made me lose interest. I could not follow which was the present and the past at times because Golf's age was only disguised through the way he combed his hair and the amount of gel he placed on it, and there were moments when that little difference was totally neglected. I had to wait for the cousin, or the best friend, or Bank just to recognize the time the scene was in.
(I was thinking, "Perhaps, Golf couldn't just get over Bank so he wears the same haircut and just hides it with some gel" But, if that's the case, then the actor playing Golf shows bad acting. Hey, Polaris, he's a newbie, give him time!)
It was when I learned that the final episode was released when I watched the rest of the series from where I left off. It wasn't totally bad. But, I cannot say that I regret not watching as per episode released. So, am I looking forward for the next season? Ughmmm...
YES! Despite the disappointment I felt in general for this season, the end took an interesting turn and had so much potential for a better season coming up.
