(Tl;dr: at the bottom) Okay, I'm rewriting my review on this because last night or specifically this morning I was full or rage against this drama. I am honestly so surprised at how well like it is. The main thing that stuck out for me was the plot. It had many cliches that I have already seen in the drama world, and the biggest problem was that this drama didn't deliver them that well. I'll just compile a quick list now.

Main male protagonist is a hot tempered, "never experienced true love" before, spoiled brat who is also the heir to a huge company of some sorts: Boys over Flower/Hana Yori Dango
Strong willed female protagonist who isn't the best at love but by the end everyone in the drama adores her: Most of Yoon EunHye's dramas (Goong, Lie to Me)
Big cuddly extremely nice third wheel that will never get the girl no matter how much you shoot at the drama: Full House, but there are examples of nice third wheels in most romcom Asian dramas.

Okay this isn't really a review anymore but more just me pointing out cliches and I've only noted a few cliches out of the many that appeared. I just want to emphasis on how the main plot and love triangle were ideas (I'm sure there's a better word than ideas) I've already seen before, and done a lot better.

Looking back, I remember specifically just skimming most of the episodes - reading only the subtitles and skipping all dialogue between the love triangle - in hope to see that this drama could somehow take a dramatically good change and actually become as great as some have described it to be; but no, it didn't happen, and in the end I just felt like it was a waste of downloads and a waste of time.

Tl;dr: Too many cliches. Plot was boring, female lead was way too wishy washy but somehow a lot of people ended up liking it....
Recommends to: I guess if you're new to dramas then this could be a start, or if you want some eye candy. But if you're looking for a quality drama, stay well away from this one.

I love this drama. Whenever I look back at Goong, a smile will always somehow emerge on my face. I have rewatched it numerous of times and I always feel the same admiration for it whilst watching it. It isn't perfect, but is there a drama that is?

The main couple is extremely endearing. Their character growth and relationship isn't boring but extremely sweet. The setting is beautiful and the cinematography wasn't a slack job either. The music is my favourite among drama soundtracks, especially since I have no real interest in traditional Korean music. Nothing is really over-exaggerated and there are quite a few cheeky/funny scenes, predominantly in the first half of the drama.

The last few episodes did drag and there is a good reason for it; the drama became a cash cow and was extended for four extra episodes, which is the main and really only reason I'm not giving this drama 10/10.

If you haven't seen this and enjoy Korean dramas, then you should go watch it, like now.
