This one needs to be eng subbed, so more people can enjoy this. This was like a mesh of Healer and City Hunter. The cast was full of beautiful people. There was a perfect balance between the fluffy romance and the intense bloody action scenes. I loved that no one suspected the HMH to be the skilled masked fighter because he looks like such a cute puppy. The writers also did a good job in making me debate on who the good guys and who the bad guys were.

It's a short web drama, so there isn't a lot of plot thickening which might be one of the reasons why I loved this one. I hate extreme and complex historical court politics. I just care about the OTP. The show gets to the point and focuses mostly on the main couple. There are cute and romantic moments, a great OST, pretty cast, nice wardrobe and scenery- what's not to like. Only thing is, acting is a little meh at time, but I'm understanding about it, the main cast are all new.
I think this drama deserves a higher rating, an 8 at the very least. I don't think it's subbed yet, but hopefully it does soon and all ya'll people who didn't master Chinese yet can enjoy it too.

I liked the fantasy/romance storyline, in some scenes it felt kinda disjointed, like they skipped over something, but I didn't mind that much since I still got a sense of what was happening and this made the storyline move along quickly. Afterall, this is less than 25 minutes an episode, so it's more like a 10 episode drama, instead of a 20.
The cinematography was on point, I felt like I was watching a high budget movie and there is a ethereal aura to the filming (it had that Goblin feel to it), The OST was great and went with the drama perfectly. I also loved everyone's outfits, props to the stylist.
What I enjoyed most was the leading female's character. She comes off as this happy go lucky person, but you soon realize very quickly that she is actually very wise and strong from the knowledge/experiences that she accumulated over the course of her 1000 year life.

The time travel plot was pretty solid and unique (and no, I don't get tired of this genre unless executed poorly) and the story moved along at a great pace where I never felt the need to hit the skip button. I loved that there was minimal court politics and instead they focused more on the cute romance between the leads.
The main male lead was perfect, like I would marry him right now hands down no objections. The main female lead was a little ehhh in the beginning, but she grew on me. She went from "you're slightly annoying?" to "you are funny, i like you" in a few episodes.
The OST is amazing- fits the mood of the drama. I can listen to it for hours.
Overall, great story, great chem, great costumes, great scenery, great music, i would def rewatch the scenes with the main couples.

This drama started out great. I remember impatiently waiting for the episodes to come because I was dying to find out what would happen next. This drama has a dark and unique feel to it and, plus, I love the cast for the OTP. The music was also great and really helped set the gloomy and mysterious mood of the show. But, somewhere along the lines of ep 11/12-ish the show went down really fast. The only reason i stuck with it all the way to the end was because I had already invest like 12 hours, the drama has raving reviews and I wanted to see how the writers are going to wrap up this mess (which ended up not impressing me at all). The plot started turning too dark for my taste, the characters starts making actions/decisions that are un-explainable and unfitting. I did not sign up for crazy.
I honestly don't know how this show got so much 10/10 ratings. I was skipping a lot of parts in the latter half of the show just to get to the end. Maybe this show was just not my cup of tea. Though my taste lies with rom coms, I do like my share of more serious/mysterious dramas (eg. Mr. Sunshine, Black, God's Gift). This was just not it.

The Love Knot: His Excellency’s First Love

The story was great- perfect balance of melo, comedy, villain scenes, romance and friendship. I know the other reviews scored the story low, but honestly I felt that it was consistently top-notch and had me getting pretty obsessive about the show. The only reason why it's not a 10 is because up till the last episode, the drama producers went lazy or something. The ending was rushed and left me a bit unsatisfied that the show is leaving me in this way. But I overlook this last episode because, ultimately, the closure made it seem like a happily ever after was possible- it just wasn't spelled out on screen for us. So calm down, it could've been worst.
The cast was a 10, especially Helan Jing Ting and his two foxy minions- loved their scenes to death! If they ever make a show solely around the shenanigans that these 3 get into, I would be the first to watch. The camera work and the ending theme song gave the show a slightly darker/eery feel, only slightly, which was like the finishing touch to make me a fan.
I'm not a fan of rewatching stuff, but for this I am willing to rewatch the scenes with HLJT and his minions.
