Sherlock vibes.

Hello Monster/I Remember You is a drama which revolves around a high functioning main lead — Hyeon — who’s on a mission to find out the person who killed his father and possibly find his brother. The series starts off really well, there’s a good introduction of characters and the main leads personality grows on you well. There are many crime thrillers that start of well but don’t keep up in the second half, but thankfully that isn’t the case with Hello Monster. The pace is steady and though the plot is slightly lacking, the well rounded characters make up for it. The antagonists are also revealed pretty early on so it doesn’t leave you guessing who’s the killer until the end.

This drama is a collection of flashbacks and present time. The cameos are so well done and I absolutely loved the acting of the child actors. I also enjoyed the team dynamics of the investigation team. There are characters used for comic relief, but the best thing about them is that that isn’t the only thing they are used for. That’s another reason why I loved this drama. Each character isn’t restricted to individual characteristics.

Overall, it’s an interesting drama that’s more about bromance and mystery oriented. It starts off well and ends well. I personally feel that the ending could have been less safe than what we got, but any other way would have meant that we would be left with many loopholes. Slightly disappointed with how it ended, but I’m not unhappy with it. It’s a good drama with lots of wholesome fun scenes!
