Sweet start to the drama

I noticed some other reviewers commenting on how the plot seemed to be weird/doesn't make sense but let me remind you that this is an adaption from the manhwa. The manhwa also did little to fully explain the "sudden feelings" Tae Sung (TS) had for Hae Bom (HB) but let me explain here:HB's parents passed away in an accident while he was young and back then, both HB's and TS's mothers were very good friends so TS's mother decided to take care of him. TS didn't had a good childhood because their parents were estranged and HB was sort of TS's first friend. TS soon developed feelings for HB but in order not to express these feelings for HB, TS decided to act cold towards HB all the while. (Episode 3 elaborates this further). They never went to school together, never talked in school together and never went home together. That is why TS's friends also didn't know about HB.However as they are graduating from high school soon, TS's mother warned TS that he doesn't have much time with HB left, because HB will surely move out of their house (HB is very independent and didn't want to burden TS and his mother anymore). TS then realised he should face up to his feelings for HB and therefore start to show that he actually cares for HB and then the story begins.Back to the episode:Yes a nice start - shows the contrast between TS and HB's 'popularity' in school. However I think the part where TS are welcomed by the students with flowers and gifts is slightly over exaggerated

First Kiss Scene!

I know some people are happy that the kiss scene came quite early but it's exactly at the pace as the manhwa.Tae Sung (TS) is still afraid of letting Hae Bom (HB) know his feelings towards him so he panicked when he left his wallet (which contained a photo of their younger selves) at home and didn't want HB to see it. Then the story goes on TS's birthday and HB didn't know what to get for him but TS said "you" which confused HB. They ended up drinking beer overnight when their mother was away at work (not shown in the drama but mentioned in the manhwa) and HB got drunk and started to cry because he missed his parents and was worried that TS would abandon him.TS then couldn't control his feelings anymore and kissed HB to comfort him but HB didn't resist or reject (not sure is it because he is drunk or he really does have feelings for TS all the while too). Romantic and soft kisses along with the music, perfect combination and scene.Looking forward to the next ep!

Tae Sung finally faces his feelings for Hae Bom

This episode saw Tae Sung (TS) coming out to his friend Young Hee about his feelings towards Hae Bom (HB). Started off with yet another sweet scene where both of them are sitting on HB's bed and talking to each other. When HB said he doesn't even have any friends to be in a relationship, TS's "you have me" made me smile so much along with the background OST...HB also sort of get to realise TS likes him (?) when Ji Ah told him that TS choice of a partner reminisces a female version of HB, and HB also smiles upon hearing that. TS then confesses to his friend that the feelings for Hae Bom isn't going away and that he is worried HB will move out once he graduates.HB and TS then spent a sweet moment gazing at the stars and finally resolving the misunderstanding between them - HB thinking that TS hated him all these while but the truth is TS is just hiding his feelings for HB from him.

Getting closer to each other

This episode saw Hae Bom (HB) and Tae Sung (TS) getting closer to each other after years of ignoring each other due to a misunderstanding. Also shows how TS protects HB and respects his decisions and choices (i.e. to not tell his mother about the bullies). The bun scene was very cute and since it was the last scene of the episode, I thought there would be some follow-up the next episode but then nah, it was a mutually exclusive scene... The OST Cherry Blossom After Winter sung by Ok Jin Uk was released after this episode, where its lyrics are sung from the perspective of HB. And it's such an apt song for this drama, soft, soothing and meaningful...
