Just watched this and it has instantly made its way onto my all time classics list. The acting and the action scenes are top notch with a strong female lead. The cinematography is however probably one of the most underrated aspects of this movie. The filming locations are extremely picturesque and use of colour has been extremely effective. There are many vibrant colours used without it becoming tasteless. The plot also follows seasonal colours despite the story only covering a few days.

Season 1 sets the bar high since it was in itself perfect in every way yet with each subsequent season the story, acting, casting and rewatch value gets even better.
Season 3 sees Daimon Michiko develop even more as a character. In season 1 she was the very self assured surgeon that could perform outrageous surgeries. Season 2 we saw her do even more innovative and outrageous surgeries with the same level of confidence. Season 3 she shows she knows her limits but will come in to save the day when lesser surgeons try to do what she does best which is to skilfully throw out the last lifeline a patient has for survival.

Watched this on a morning flight expecting a lot from the cast. I finished the movie but promptly fell asleep straight afterwards. There were a few times when there was significant progress in the progression of the plot but he reason for the progress was never explained. The result was that the pot felt a bit sporadic at times. I also think the ovie could have been a bit grittier given the fact that the yakuza, suspected murder and suspected drug trafficking are part of the plot, which would have made me the movie far more engaging.
