Just like those who have already reviewed this drama, there's most likely going to be comparisons between the first and second season.
I ended up stumbling upon the fact that there was going to be a part two by accident. If I hadn't stumbled upon that information I would've never known part two ever existed.
Once I found out there was going to be a season 2 I re-watched the first season over so I could familiarize myself with the cast and refresh my memory about what part one was about since it's been a few years since I seen the first one.
I'm glad I re-watched season 1 over because it sort of picked up where it left off: the gang escaping prison in season 1 and becoming wanted felons in season 2. I would've been confused about that part if I hadn't re-watched the first.
I would recommend those who haven't seen the first season in a while to re-watch that because season 2 started off all over the place. It was confusing to watch. What season 2 was all about became clearer close to the end of the episodes. I don't know why they did it the way they did it. It almost made me drop the whole thing altogether. I usually watch the first 5 episodes of Korean dramas to see if it's something I would finish and was going to drop this but I stuck it out.
If they would've made the ending for the beginning I think it would've panned out a lot better than how it started. It's probably why viewers started comparing season 1 to season 2. I was about to do the same but I realized by episode 3 part two was going to be a lot different from the first. Each episode was different but it had one main goal-get rid of the bad guys.
I would say give this season a chance. It held up on it's own and don't need to be compared to season 1. By like the 7the episode or so it will make sense. I also got a gist that it may be a season 3. We'll see.
