Drama set in era where human brains seemed not fully evolved
Finally completed this drama last evening doing the final 8 episodes at one go - it certainly increased my blood pressure. I did quite abit of reading and asking before deciding to start it last Friday. First impressions were not too bad, the FL is cute though her acting was a bit awkward (like she was practicing her acting alone in front of a mirror) which is still okay for me. ML I don't find him good looking, the other main actors in the show are better looking. His looks did grow on me and his acting was not too bad for a fresh actor. Overall it is a pretty/handsome cast. The story/plot is nothing to get excited about, how it was executed often is hard to believe even for a drama like this. Two "S"s to describe the characters, first being "Superhuman". The characters can fall off a cliff, nearly get drowned, poisoned, caught in fire and come out unscathed. Second is the how "Stupid" the characters were, most if not all of them. People that rather die then to clarify even though there no reason for them not to. People who deliberately/stupidly show up or do things to put them in an unfavorable situations etc... The most honorable mention will be how they set aside a few episodes just for misunderstandings towards the end. (1) the FL repeatedly accepts gifts (willingly or unwillingly) from the love rival of the ML even though he expressed displeasure everytime and he always happened to be there to catch the act. (2) The evil mother of the ML wanted to send the FL away to a monastery, the ML intervenes last minute only for the FL to request the ML to let her go. Thereafter blaming the ML's willingness to let her go (WTF?!). I am fine with a stupid FL, a useless ML but this is just testing my patience. I can go on and on however I shouldn't waste anymore time on this.
Music was okay but not too memorable, I could still remember some of them last night.
Rewatch value? Think I am being kind giving it a 5.

Inconsistencies make this a forgettable drama
The story is nothing new; I guess anyone who have watched dramas for while came across something similar before, so it should be a challenge to make it interesting.Overall it is filled with inconsistencies, probably makes a bit of sense coming from an alien but rather difficult to understand the male lead having multiple reactions - even though having some mental condition. It just didn’t leave me any impression on the events leading to them getting together (and twice!). One particular event that did leave an impression is the female lead getting subdued and restrained by a mad scientist. No explanation why he was able to subdue a powerful alien with his bare hands (maybe he carried her crystallized blood?), really forced I must say. What followed after is really uncalled for, something I would call a torture scene? And thereafter an escape attempt foiled by a violent act on a fair lady. She maybe acting as an alien but it does not make it any easier to watch.
What kept me a bit interested is the female lead, she is so cute and lively especially for the first half. Didn’t think too much of the male lead in the beginning but he grew on me. Among the supporting cast, the restaurant owner and the male lead assistant were the rare sparks in the show.
The OST in the beginning and end sounds nice and compatible to the drama but they were just played in the beginning and the end. There was also a track performed by a male singer that was nice at the very end. What a waste. Cannot recall anything else except for some old sounding tune quite frequently used in many scenes.
I am fine with flawed dramas, but this is one that I completed just for the sake of completing it. I am quite sure it wouldn’t leave any more impression even if I rewatch it.

This material probably should have remained as manga
I was drawn by the posters and seemingly positive previews of this drama, not knowing the story since I have not read the manga or watched the anime (if any). This is not helped by the synopsis in MDL: "The story centers around a high school boy who fell in love at first sight with a girl, then finds out that his best friend kidnapped the girl he loves." which is rather open-ended - and I found out it literally meant kidnapped in the very first scene. This is the same period whereby a certain K-Drama adapted from a webtoon is drawing flak for portraying some supposedly controversial topics. It may or may not have been fine if it was not acted out by actual persons, but for this case I seriously think so. I have read several matured theme manga myself so the threshold is probably determined by how realistic it is. For this, it is acted out by actors in school uniforms whereby school boy 2 bullied by school boy 3 into carrying out the act, restraining/confining the FL with the intention of probably something really bad? Things get really fast that the FL (school girl 1) gets together with the ML (school boy 1) who is the best friend of her captor, and even her best friend (school girl 2) becomes friends with the captor. This fast development is probably due to drama being a short one, but I reckon it is still twisted even if otherwise.
Other uncomfortable scenes include bullying/intimidation of parents, stalking/harassing ladies etc. Not too sure what this drama is trying to express but I guess it is better left as it's original manga form. I wouldn't read the manga even so.

VR seems just like a gimmick to reuse a plot
Started and caught all 10 episodes released so far today on Qianxun. The exaggerated acting in the "real world" for the first couple of episodes is less real than in the VR world - hate this type of exaggeration. Besides that it seemed quite promising until it gets really slowwwww...... Up till now it is a mix of "My Huckleberry Friends" with "A Love so Beautiful" + some scenes leading to the so called "accident" in the synopsis. Instead of the usual memory or flashback, making use of the VR storyline viewers are brought back to 10 years ago. Thereafter it is super focused on the relationship between the main leads which is really not that interesting. The FL behaves and thinks like a small child that talks alot which gets quite irritating. The ML is the opposite - aloof scholar that doesn't talk much or speaks in a low voice (yawns). I am more interested in the second FL and ML though they were not featured much. Basically the whole show until now is the FL chasing the ML around without much interesting content - almost all of the 8 episodes x 45mins. I am not sure when the "accident" will happen, probably towards the end so I am not sure if I can stay interested until then. The OSTs in the beginning and end are nice though.Cet avis était-il utile?
