What can I say about myself, hmm?I grew up watching the local dramas and HK movies that were shown on Singapore's TV channels back then. The first drama I completed was the 1998 locally produced xianxia, 'Legends of the Eight Immortals'. I remembered waiting for it to air at 7pm every weeknights ( ˃▿˂ ) It had many local artists starring in that drama, such as Phyllis Quek, Jacelyn Tay, Yvonne Lim and Vincent Ng. Afterwards, I started J-doramas somewhere in 2007/2008 as I got into Jpop and their idols. Arashi (嵐) and KAT-TUN were my favourites. I've since left the fandom, but will still look for their dramas and listen to their songs occasionally. It wasn't until 2015 that I started watching Kdramas and along the way, fell into the pit hole called Kpop. I've since taken a casual stance on Kpop after finding myself feeling overwhelmed with it in 2021. Took a break from dramas for about two years plus (from mid 2018 to end 2020). Now I'm back and my current obsession are costumed Chinese dramas. Because of my interest in history, my preferred dramas are mostly historical/period. Besides that, I'm also into fantasy hence why I'm much drawn to xianxia dramas. I have a habit of binge watching one actor's filmography at a time. The table below shows what I've binge-watched over the months. Currently, I'm trying to complete my challenges before the year is up, and also writing some articles for MDL. I've written a couple of ultimate fan guides; one of them is Cheng Yi's, who is also my favourite Chinese actor ( ❛ ֊ ❛) |
