This was honestly so good
I’m actually so surprised by how obsessed I am with this drama like normally I take a long time to finish a series, but this one I finished in a week. I literally loved each character and even though sometimes I didn’t like how a character acted I still enjoyed the drama. I am also obsessed with the actress who plays Yoshioka because she’s so pretty and I was only going to watch this show for the guy who plays Kikuchi because I loved him in Mr. Unlucky, but he still did amazing in this series. I will warn you that there may be spoilers.
I loved this plot because it was a storyline I probably won’t have the same feelings as I watched this show. I felt this school drama seemed way different from the school dramas that you normally see because even though it focused on a love story we also saw a whole lot of friendship. The story basically starts off with us seeing Yoshioka and Kou at a temple where they accidentally meet up at because it was raining and Yoshioka was drying herself off, but it didn’t work so Kou gave her his old shirt. We also later see that they are classmates who are friends with each other and they are always at the temple either reading the board with posters of upcoming events or them playing cops and thief’s. We also see that Yoshioka notices that once they make eye contact together they turn away, but both go for a second glance until they stop. One day Kou asked Yoshioka to go to the lantern festival with him and she said yes, but she was stood up and once they came back from summer break it was said that he moved away. Then we see that Yoshioka is now in high school and has friends that talk bad about people behind their backs, but they mainly talk bad about a girl named Makita who seems to act cute whenever she is near boys and is isolated from the girls which Yoshioka is afraid might happen to her. One day when they were getting bread a few boys say that Yoshioka is pretty so she eats her bread all messy so no one will like her, but bumps into a boy and when she turned around she thought it was Kou so she ran and follows him and it was him. The following night they met at the temple where Kou says she’s “playing friends” which was true because she doesn’t want to be alone so she will change herself, but the next day Yoshioka picks up something that Makita dropped and started to talk to her and she learned that she’s really nice and once her friends said another bad thing about Makita, Yoshioka yelled at them which made her lose them, but gain Makita as a friend. Later, they were moved into a different class where it consisted of Yoshioka, Kou, Makita and two new people Murao and Kominato. When it was said to be class leaders no one volunteered so Yoshioka and Kou volunteered and the class event leaders were Makita, Murao, and Kominato this meant that they had to go to a overnight camp to learn more about each other and how they can lead their class and while Murao was stand-offish she wanted to become Yoshioka and Makita’s friend because she overheard them promising to each other that they won’t leave each other. One day Makita told Yoshioka and Murao that she likes Kou and then Yoshioka said she also liked him, but Murao said she likes their teacher Tanaka who is Kou’s brother and she’s rooting for the both of them. While Yoshioka and Kou kept hanging out a whole lot for example they went to the train station, she met his random friends, hung out at his house to determine whether she would stop liking him or keep liking him it would depend if he leaves the train and he left the train so she will continue to like him. One day the summer festival happened and while everyone was wearing normal clothes Makita was wearing a Yukata so she will stand out more, but that made her trip where she held onto Kou the whole time and hung out with him and Murao and Kominato were hanging out so Yoshioka was left by herself and a kid bumped into her and his food stained her clothes, but a boy named Kikuchi was trying to help her clean it, but it wouldn’t come off so he was gonna take her to the sinks to wash it off, but Kou stopped her and said that he’s her boyfriend, but she yelled at him and said that he’s not doing anything and left him. Then the following night Makita broke her shoe and it gave her a cut and so she felt she should confess, but Kou said he doesn’t like her that way which made her cry and once Yoshioka found her and comforted her. Then Kou and Yoshioka got closer and he asked her once again to go to the lantern festival and asked her to wear a Yukata, but the following night he said he can’t go anymore and never responded back to her, but Yoshioka asked why and he said it’s because his old classmate lost their father just like he lost his mother and said he understands her more than anyone and is always on his phone now to answer her every time. Then over time he basically didn’t talk to her unless she hung out with Kikuchi which I felt was a little wrong. Then I really loved the last episode which was the maid and butler cafe because it was so funny to see the guys in maid outfits and the girls wear butler outfits and her conversation with Kikuchi was very nice. Also when Kikuchi band was playing the song was a bop, but it was sad that he wanted Yoshioka to watch him, but Kou accidentally kissed her. I feel the ending was nice because it ended with Kou and Yoshioka kissing, but now I can’t wait to watch season 2. Overall, I personally enjoyed this drama and I definitely recommend it if you like school dramas or short shows.
