This drama was simply INCREDIBLE!

It took me some time to get through the very first episodes but when they were finished I sat glued to my computer.

City Hunter is a bit different from the other dramas I watch. Mostly lovey-dovey romantic comedies are dominant in my heart but I'm glad I got, finally, made myself watch this one. It has everything; action, love, friendship, relations overall and a freaking amazing plot that is very complicated but still easily understood for someone who isn't that familiar with Korean politics and other relevant areas.

Number one in this drama was, of course, the beloved Lee Min Ho, and yes, his character was awesome in every thinkable way! Handsome, kind, heroic and fights like a king! Yet, he is not the only one to impress. Park Min Young made a great job with her character Kim Na Na, and Go Ha Ra surprised me in the part as the spoiled President's daughter. Lee Joon Hyuk is now another actor that I will stalk to death. I also finally admitted that old people can act!

There is especially one of the instrumental pieces that I seriously love! It's dramatic and has a lot of emotions in it. It is the City Hunter drama translated into music. SHINee's Kim Jonghyun's ballad (So Goodbye) totally set the mood in the sad scenes, and yes, I love that guy...

There are quite a lot of episodes (20) á 60 minutes. There are MANY cliff hangers and sometimes the tension is just killing you, so I would be careful to watch this too often since it probably isn't good for your heart... But I will rewatch this drama, no doubt!

Except for the first one or two episodes that are made to introduce the watchers there is one tiny little thing that disappointed me, and that would be the ENDING. There were tons of drama and guns were fired etc. really cool and brilliant, but the very ending of the ending was a superduperteenytiny bit... dissatisfying. You have been WARNED !!!
But the drama is still worth watching! :D

I don't know where to begin... so I'll start with a little heads up for you all.

-WARNING-
This is a war movie and it involves violent scenes as well as emotional scenes, labile people (like myself) should not watch this!

The story of these two brothers is incredibly touching as well as it feels realistic to watch. I have only watched one movie with Won Bin (Jin Seok in this movie) before watching this and I was stunned by his performance on the screen and I can say that my admiration for him has grown to the skies. Along with Jang Dong Gun (plays his brother Jin Tae) he makes this movie insanely good.
The story, environments and the acting is all outstanding and every emotion is conveyed with precision and feeling behind it. As if all of this wasn't enough the music fits the movie perfectly and it's well timed with the scenes and creates the right mood.

I won't lie, I cried rivers. Especially at the end, but let me tell you, this entire movie is one single tragedy. But what can you expect from a war? This is the reason I had to deduct one point from the "Rewatch value", it takes to much off your heart and soul to watch this, my head aches from all the crying. I would watch it again, but I'll have to wait a while until I'm ready for it again.

Watch and enjoy!

I was left with so much feelings after watching this incredibly moving drama. Sice it's based on a true story it made the plot even more touching.

The story is very realistic, probably because it's based on the diaries of the female lead in the drama. All characters are unique and the actors bring out the feelings of their characters so good, I sometime got the feeling that it was some sort of twisted reality show.
The drama develops pretty slowly and at times it can be a bit annoying, but mainly it just adds more emotions to the story. You get to know the characters really well and if your own emotions never matches the ones they are expressing, then your heart is made out of rock!

One thing I didn't like about the story was the drama was the lack of information you got about the relationship between the female lead and the male lead. Also, I have to pick one point off of the overall score because of the moments when the tempo was a bit too slow.

If I hadn't drained all the liquid out of my body while crying to this drama I would re-watch again, very soon. But the list of dramas is long and this drama was really painful to watch at some times. I have learnt a whole lot from it though, and I hope you do the same.
Watch it!

I know, I'm completely going against every other review and scoring that seems to have been made on this drama, but this is me being honest.

I am a music freak throughout every atom in my body, no lie. Everything I do includes it, and I can find a way to involve music in whatever I'm doing, I will. That's why I was so excited to see this drama, also after reading some reviews and ratings of it and seeing that Jang Geun Seok (or however you want to spell his name) was one of the main characters. How could this go wrong?

Apparently in very many ways.
I felt like the screenwriters hadn't really put down much energy in this drama. A lot of events seemed to be repeated over and over again and there wasn't much of a plot in any of the episodes. There were many characters and many side-stories to keep track of. My sister and I were annoyed at the main characters through the entire serie because they were just so stupid and made the wrong decisions all the freaking time. They all seemed too immature for their age.

To not be too pessimistic I have to say that I liked the acting very much, the actors did a great job TRYING to give life to a story that didn't exist. Also, thankfully, the music was very beautiful and sometimes created the mood that the viewer was supposed to feel.
I must also express my love to the cabaret-trumpet-playing-dude (Bae Yong Gi, played by Park Chul Min) who was the funniest person and the mood-maker of this drama.

If you want to watch this drama, you can skip everything and jump to the last episode, I assure you that you will understand everything anyway.

Okay, here I go again!

This drama felt a bit different from others that I have watched, and I consider myself pretty experienced when it comes to watching Asian dramas.
The story, sometimes moving fast sometimes slow but never being boring or too much, was absolutely perfect. It reflected the life, evolution and maturation of a group of teenagers. It's simply about everyday life in any ordinary persons life, and I think that is what makes this drama so perfect and different from others. It's always about a really rich bastard of a guy who falls for a righteous poor girl and then he makes her fall in love with her and they live happily ever after. This one though, pictures the life of people with not so extraordinary lives and it makes me feel... appreciated.

It was nice to see so many familiar faces meeting together in one epic drama. And it was so funny to see how Eun Ji Won (Sechs Kies) acted one part even though he figured as himself as well, hilarious at one point! Overall I think the actors did a good job, dialogues felt natural even though sometimes feelings (such as anger or excitement) were a little overacted.

Music from the 90's aren't exactly my favourites, even though they do wake up a whole lot of nostalgia, but the songs and the score still matched the scenes and the different moods of the drama.

I would like to rewatch it (as well as I would like to rewatch many others, but there are so many new dramas!!), but I think I'll wait a bit, because the normality in the dramam might lose its' charm and get boring after being watched too often or too close after each other.

Since I'm part of the big fandom of Kpop I appreciated that the main character was so much of a fangirl herself, and I could recognize myself very much in her. Though, I'm not as into my idols as she seemed to be... Maybe I just don't have as many chances to act as she does (since Kpop is having a late break through in Sweden!)
Also, I loved how the feelings of the characters were displayed to the viewers. It felt very natural, as well as their actions and reactions to the scenarios.

Thank you Korea for, yet, another awesome drama!

I was really eager to watch this movie since it's about something as serious as domestic abuse and you can see how my points vary quiet a bit from each other... And about the story, I rather like the idea of the story than the actual plot, I hope you understand what I mean.

I thought the acting was good except for maybe the female lead, since I sometimes thought she exaggerated many of her feelings and trembling. On the other hand I was surprised to see Sulli in the role of the aggressive, rebel, teenager daughter. Yes, I completely compared her acting with her latest performance in To The Beautiful You, which was not equally imposing...

I didn't even notice the music until the very ending scene so I don't think it made such a bif impression on me either, I even had to go back and see if there was any...

I'm just happy that the topic domestic violence is handled in a movie and you get to see a different solution to the problem than the infinite trials and negotiations with lawyers that someone, who has already suffered for years, has to go through.
This movie gave me a bit of hope...

So, I'm writing this after watching this movie a second time and forcing my family to watch it with me. Hence, I obviously think this is a good movie.

-WARNING-
There is A LOT of blood filled, cruel and violent scenes in the film!

This movie is filled with action from the beginning until the very end. And our handsome and righteous hero, played by Won Bin, is doing some serious ass kicking in each and every second scene and keeps astonishing the viewers with his epic moves.

The actors are awesome and I am especially impressed by the actress playing the little girl who acted out her character very well. Furthermore, Won Bin is doing a great job as well and impresses me with looking ever so handsome no matter what feeling he expresses to the audience. No doubt, he's one of my favourite actors.

The plot is very intriguing and it makes you stay alert until the credits are shown. It involves both drugs and illegal trades of other... products... And you can never completely relax while watching it since there's always something going on and you can always tell that Won Bin can NOT screw this up, or he'll be fucked...

For those who like it; the fighting scenes are extremely well done and the cruelty is on its' top level.

Even though this was a serious movie I find it extremely funny at times and I really appreciate the jokes and faces that are smoothly added to the story.

The music was well timed and followed the plot well, though it was a bit predictable and the ending song can be questioned. I didn't notice this until the second time I watched it so I don't think you should let it stop you from watching it though.

I recommend it to anyone who enjos a good action movie with an interesting plot!

Holy freaking crap! I just have to say, that this drama would be nothing, I repeat; NOTHING! without Lee Hyun Woo's character Cha Eun Gyeol. I have watched both the Japanese and the Taiwanese version of this drama but neither Ikuta Toma nor Jiro Wang managed to capture my heart the way Lee Hyun Woo did in this Korean version.

The story is not that original, a girl dressing up as a boy in order to accomplish something, and the reason in this version of the drama actually feels a bit lame, but still, the plot invites to A LOT of drama and some terribly epic complications.

The actors... not too impressive, especially Mr. Male Lead. Let me introduce one of the most awkward actors in history, Lee Minho of SHINee who plays the role of high jumper Kang Tae Joon. It's not so much that he's a bad actor, he's just... awkward. One thing that annoyed me and at the same time felt a bit relieving was that the character of the male lead wasn't as emotionally incompetent as the ones in the other versions. The screenwriters tried their wings of responsibility and even though they changed much of the main character's traits they made it into a nicer character to watch.

The music, very mainstream and obviously SM biased, but that has it's causes, I guess. Though, Onew, thanks for creating the mood!

As I said, If it wasn't for Cha Eun Gyeol, the soccer genius (and maybe all the attractive guys......) I wouldn't have loved the drama as much as I do, and if I rewatch it some time in the future I will probably only watch the parts where he's acting... Seriously, knowing what I know (not leaving any spoilers) after watching two versions already, I cried in every episode from like episode 5.
Cha Eun Gyeol, you deserve so much better (me...)

Watch it, and love him! :)

I'm going to keep it short this time, believe it or not.

At first my feelings for this movie weren't very strong, there wasn't really like but not at all dislike in my body while watching it. I just felt that the characters where a bit exaggerated and the events in the movie felt really randomly placed. For exampel one sequence when they are hostages in an amusement park...

Though, after a while something happened inside me and the story started to change and my feelings grew stronger from the middle and forward. The best part was, no doubt, the ending. I can't even stop myself from smiling when I think about it!

When the American High School Musical moie came out I was completely sold. I loved everything about it and I still watch it when I need to cheer up. That's why I was so happy when I found the Chinese adaption of the movie. It didn't reach my expectations though...

The story was okay but as for the scenes where the actors sang... everything was just so random and out of place. For example the female main was in her aquarium in one sequence while singing a sad love song, makes sence? All the songs where like this, placed in without reason except for the two last ones which I actually really liked.

The actors are pretty good, and I love the male main, he voice is amazing. The girl sings well too, but I miss a little bit of power in her voice. Maybe I'm not one to talk, but they are professionals.

This movie isn't good for anything except lifting your mood when you're feeling down. It doesn't change you as a person or teach anything important. The message it wants to give you can learn from watching any other Disney movie.

The best part of the entire movie: The last song. Watch it!
