A So-So Show
This drama story was, in my opinion, not the best of the HIStory franchise, but it was not awful either.->Story: I thought the concept of a woman's soul stuck in a man's body was unique. At first, after reading the description I was not too sure how the show would use this idea; even so, the show overall did an okay job at capturing it. The beginning was definitely very fast paced, then slowing down towards the end. The fast pace did bring some confusion as it was hard understanding what was happening with the plot in the beginning. As it slowed down though, the show became more interesting to watch. Some points of criticism I have was that it seemed that the main lead, Mai Ying Xiong, did not seem devastated, nor shed a single tear after his girlfriend passed away. I would assume after having his girlfriend die, he would be sensitive or at least overcome with sorrow. Nonetheless, falling in love with the love interest, Gu Si Ren, without a thought of his girlfriend. Also, the ending, though sweet, did not satisfy. After both leads kissed, the woman's soul left Gu Si Ren's body...Gu Si Ren did not recollect anything that happened to him after the girlfriend's soul had used him. How would things work out between him and Mai Ying Xiong then if he did not remember anything? The ending could have used some work.
-> Acting/Cast: Aaron Lai, Da-Her Lin, and Patricia Lin were all beautiful actors and I thought their acting was great. Aaron's character was my least favorite either due to the acting or how the script was written. I know he is a very talented actor, which he proves in other shows. Patricia Lin did a wonderful job portraying the pain and hurt; her scenes of grief were well done. Da-Her Lin was a cute face on the screen and his acting was not bad either; quite on the contrary I thought he did fine. I did not have any criticism for the support actors, but their performances were not memorable.
-> Music: The music was catchy, but it was easy to forget as it did not stand out. It was just another OST.
-> Rewatch Value: Personally, I would not rewatch this story in HIStory 1, but judging by how there are only 4 short episodes it would be easy to rewatch just maybe not enjoyable.
-> Overall: I might not recommend this show out of the whole HIStory franchise, but with some funny, sweet scenes, and good-looking actors, this short story just might be what you are looking for!
