Couples Outfits?

Love the "couple outfit" of the leads. More times than not they were very matchy matchy, maybe a not so subtle remind of how in sync the leads are. It doesn't take this pair more than a few episodes to realize they are meant to walk the same path in life, and the next if they are lucky enough.

The male lead, Wang Xing Yue, at tender age of 19 as of the airing of "Your Sensibility My Destiny", shows great promise. He is not just another pretty face, but actually has mad skills. I look forward to seeing more of him in future dramas.

There is great chemistry between him and his leading lady, Bu Guan Jin. You would never know she is 8 years his senior. Mo Qing Chen's teasing and Lin Chi's taking the bait makes a viewer like me fall instantly in love with this pair.

This definitely a must watch drama.

Laughed a lot and shed a few tears

ML callously and aggressively woos FL to fulfill the requirements of his father's will. Had he used honesty rather than subterfuge, he might have eliminated a lot of heartache and headache. ML assumes his father demanded he marry FL because he wanted his son to vicariously fulfill a personal desire for FL's mother. In reality his father was much more noble, only attempting to right a moral wrong that had been done to FL's mother by ML's mother. This becomes quite obvious early on, but is not "revealed" until much later. It is also predestined, to fulfill the desires that their previous incarnations were prevented from doing.

Needless to say Mr. Callous falls hopelessly for Miss Obtuse, in short order. Our FL has no clue what the difference is between platonic and romantic love. Had she had a clue in her previous life, she would not have made a hash out of it by hanging with the smitten SML for a millennium. Mr. Obsessed, after cultivating for millennia and almost ascending to immortaliy, didn't learn a thing and proceeded to spiral down the same path of greed and destruction his previous incarnation had tread. He only learns his lesson after the leads give him enough rope to hang himself with in the last 5 minutes.

After being torn apart by the tragedy of the previous generation and previous incarnations, the leads finally get their happily ever after.

Story was cute, sweet and just a little sad. It even included an annoying, evil, greedy step-mom and step-sister. ML's sister became the ugly mother-in-law character, blinded by their deceased mother's lifetime of lies. This is one of the first times I fell in love with the leads love rivals and their own little love story.

This may not be as re-watchable as "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms," but it is worth a first viewing.

Slightly ambiguous ending

I enjoyed this drama from beginning to end. Lonely arrogant dragon demon on a path to immortality makes the mistake of trusting and befriending the power hungry manipulative immortal of fate. He meets his destiny, but experiences road block after road block, but manages to make new friends who are true to the end.

Longyan Yuchi, only surviving member of his dragon clan, is accidentally in the wrong place at the wrong time and is falsely accused of stealing a powerful ancient artifact, for which he is tried and convicted by the idiot on the heavenly emperor's throne without investigating the so called crime After a thousand years of lightening strikes, a punishment even most immortal beings could not survive, he is released and falls, injured into the mortal world. It is his lucky day as he meets a kind young woman, Luiying, who has some medical skills, who mistakes him for a small injured snake. She takes him home at the prompting of her young miss.

Grateful, he offers to marry her after he takes on his human form. He quickly realizes that it is not merely gratitude, but true love. Unaware of human, or even otherworldly relationships, he naturally makes a hash of it, but tenaciously wears her down. Unfortunately fate, or more accurately the @#0!% In charge of fate, prevents this pair from making their desires a reality until the very end, forcing these lovers to only love at a distance. Yuchi keeps his virtue to the very end, remaining by her side when ever physically possible, and protecting her from those who only want to use her soul as a power source. He has to stand by in two of her lifetimes as she marries another as circumstances make those options the only ones that will allow her to continue living a natural life span.

Eventually the conspiracy is discovered, and justice is met.

The second leads own love story is just as sweet but somewhat less heartbreaking. The bromance between the ML and SML is also sweet and hilariously funny.

Some other reviews state it is a sad ending, but I found it to be hopeful as both the leads' souls survived with the possibility of reincarnation. It just misses the mark a little on a completely satisfying happily ever after. The 6 min special implies a 5th incarnation, as the FL is addressed as Princess Liuying before she meets up with ML who complains, "What took you so long."

Red String of Fate?

These two leads could not be further opposites, yet the fit together like a mortise and tenon puzzle box. He is stoic while she is a loyal and frisky puppy. Speaking of puppies, one might think Prof. Ji's faithful pooch had a paw in making their love connection. Baby Qi (Qi Nian's psuedonym) meets Qi Boa after he decided to take himself for a walk. For Qi Boa it was love at first bite, after the scene stealer snags a piece of Baby Qi's beef jerky. He returns the favor by dragging her to meet his Dad, Prof Ji. He is just the slice of yummy inspiration she was looking for, a prototype that will save her career as a manhua creator.

Completely ignorant about romantic relationships, Qi Nian is very straight forward about her personal interests in Ji Yanxin, but evasive about her professional ones. She sticks to him like a barnacle on his butt, becoming his TA, even though she is not a student at the university and doing everything she can to imprint her name and very essences into his mind.

Fate is a funny thing, as it turns out Qi Nian's mysterious "female," previously unmet roommate is in reality Ji Yanxin's didi, Ji Siqi, an unpublished manhua artist, and the biggest fan of Baby Qi's stolen original work. He complicates the budding relationship between the leads, having become infatuated with her after she validates his dream of becoming a professional manhua artist and hires him as her assistant. Having been estranged for years, Ji Yanxin would do anything for his didi except give up the girl he has fallen for. Competition for Qi Nian complicates their reconciliation.

This drama is filled with many sweet moments and sweet flashbacks, the sweetest is in the last few minutes of the last episode. We discover our leads fate was set in motion maybe ten years prior to when Qi Boa introduces his new mom to his dad. Ji Yanxin meets Qi Nian's dad at an ancient temple where her dad give Ji Yanxin her love plaque that girls leave when when wishing for marriage. He leaves with her plaque, which he keeps as a keepsake of his visit and walks by his future bride as she rushes to show her dad a sketch of Ji Yanxin, her first prototype, likely was the hero of her first manhua, the one that would be stolen from her.

Forgettable

Was it worth watching 24 45 min episodes? Maybe, but not worthy of returning for a repeat. Loved the ML, but the FL, not so much. I just could not get over her limper than limp, thin hair, ears that were overly prominent, and an unfortunate nose. If they had just given her some more volume with some hair extensions they might have saved her look. Who am I kidding, her wardrobe was awful too, and she was supposed to be an up and coming fashion designer?

Love rivals? Both were morally bankrupt to certain degrees. XiXi's rival, XeWei, did everything she could except boil the XiXi's rabbit (Fatal Attraction reference). She was a spoiled brat who just could not accept that the SiChen was just not into her. She should have woken up and smelled the coffee 15 years before when she was told be SiChen that he wasn't into the girl next door. He was not speaking figuratively, he literally meant her. She carried on with her delusion to the point of nearly ruining SiChen professionally. Talk about sour grapes, "If I can't have him, then I will destroy him, and his little dog too!"

SiChen's love rival, ZiXin, wasn't quite as bad, but still a loser. His character was a little unbelievable. What guy would invest that kind of cash into a girl when she has already married? Yes, ZiXin is all kinds of soft and cuddly, but he still pursued a married woman. My father was a lay minister. One of the most memorable things he taught me was "Married, is married, is married and single, is single, is single, never confuse the two." I don't care that SiChen and XiXi started out in a contractual relationship, they were still legally married. Even after she turned down ZiXin's confession, he still pursued her under the guise of "friendship". That was so not right. In the end he finally got the message, but he still seemed to get off on tweaking SiChen's nose a little.

In the end the leads discovered they complimented each other, and grew to appreciate their differences.

Clueless leads ineptly fall for each other

ML takes filial piety to a whole new level in his pursuit of FL to fulfill his deceased father's last wish, to take care of and hopefully marry the daughter of his former business partner. FL is completely turned off by his romantic gestures as he hounds her with the same zeal that her brothers creditors have. It is only due to later that she agrees to the former and enters into a contractual relationship.

Both quickly fall for each other, but are too clueless to pick up on the social clues and a comedy follows as they keep getting bad advice from those around them. It is only through the lubrication of a "wee" bit of alcohol, that the two discover their true feelings for one another.

Both have enough problems on their own comminicating, add in a couple love rivals and a unscrupulous corporate rival to the mix, and chaos constantly ensues. ML's rival is somewhat sweet and pitiable, but still wanted to confess after discovering the leads fake relationship had become real. FL's love rival was completely unlikable. She did everything she could throw shade on FL and even went so far as to almost destroying ML in an effort to be indispensable.

One of the dramas failings is a certain lack of closure with regards to FL love rival. Yes, ML discovers how she screwed the pooch, almost destroying the company, but the audience never discovers how he ends up dealing with the black hearted tart. The two leads continue to live in her rental apartment, rather than move into the FL's apartment. Weird, right? One must also just assume ML wins against the corporate rival as that storyline is left dangling. One must also assume that ML's father must have been FL's Daddy Long Legs, sponsoring her throughout her college year.

Overall, this drama was sweet and fluffy, but it is not destined to be a must watch drama.

Borderline slapstick

The characters are a modge podge group of mixfits. Cursed at birth ML because mummy and daddy broke the stupid rules of heaven and dared to fall in love. Matchmaker wantabe FL becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy falling for her first "client". Inept villain with a speak impediment covets what he has no hope of controlling. Side characters were entertaining especially ML's cousin, the crown prince, and ML's female guard.

The chemistry was good between the leads. Special effects were literally laughable, they were so cheesy. Soundtrack was unmemorable.

Cute lead couple.

I loved how Huan Er effortlessly chiseled away at the stone wall that surrounded Wu Ji's cold heart. A precocious 9 year old Wu Ji, having lost his parent due to limitless greed. This leaves him de facto head of house and parent to his younger siblings, leaving only duty and revenge in his heart. Huan Er slowly conquers one family member after another with her integrity, courage and kindness, finally melting Wu Ji's own heart.

The only flaw with this story is Huan Er's huge blind spot in seeing her father as the treacherous monster he really is. She is supposed to be intelligent, but when it comes to her father, she is dumber than a box of rocks. The saying, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me," comes to mind. It is only when her daddy issues put Wu Ji's life in jeopardy that she finally wakes up to smell the coffee, or tea, as the case may be.

Season 3 and 4? Why?

Season 2 was absolutely necessary as season 1 left the audience completely heartbroken for this pair of soul-mates. Leaving Uk behind to live out an eternity alone would have just been too cruel, especially considering he would be forever haunted by the wraiths, the residual spirits of the evil souls who greedily took part in soul shifting. As the evil Jin Mu, who never deserved to carry the revered family name, had not been served his just deserts, ha had to be eliminated.

So, season 2 wrapped up all the loose ends left by the tragic ending of season 1. Season 3 and 4 would superfluous. What is left for Uk and Yeong/Bu Yong to do? Chase after the escaped relics? Anyway, two thumbs way up for wrapping things up with season 2. Even Maidservant Kim and Lord Park had their happily ever after, with a suggested bundle of joy of their own on the way.

I really hate open ended ambiguous endings

The story was fairly good up to last two minutes of the end. Let me take that back. Besides the crappy last couple of ambiguous minutes, there was also no explanation of the FL's back story. If the original novel was this bad, it is a wonder it was developed into a drama.

With Scarlett Heart, both the Chinese and Korean dramas, similar story of the FL taking over the life of another individual, the audience at least had closure with the ML experiencing a little karma for choosing politics over love, but leaving a window of hope for the couple in the ML's next incarnation.

Now I will get off my soap box to say the leads, was well as the side characters, were engaging. They all had great chemistry. The antagonists had no redeeming qualities. One might pity Quin Luan just a little, because she constantly had Wu's accolades rubbed in face, but she always had an alternate choice. The rest of the antagonists were pathetic losers who were driven by ugly obsessions.

Due to the poor ending, I will not be rewatching this drama.
