About what we fans would expect

This was a satisfying conclusion to the The Eternal Love series. We finally got our big-budget drama of Mo Lian Cheng and Qu Tan Er!

Things I liked about this drama:
-Our beloved main couple <3
-The humor-- all 3 of the dramas maintain the same feel and humor
-The costumes
-Mo Lian Cheng's bangs. They look way better now XD
-All the references to the past dramas, especially the first
-"I'm not satisfied"
-No breakups, no distrust, and LOTS of kissing!
-Yun Xiu!! I have no idea why, I just really really liked him and his character.
-The plot was more complex than the past two dramas, and I was really intrigued by the empress the entire time

Things I disliked:
-As was the case with the first two dramas, the plot was pretty all-over-the-place. The writer for this drama series has a lot of potential, but just couldn't seem to handle a bigger production with more episodes and budget.
-The middle (ep 13-22) was pretty boring. I can deal with the crazy plotlines, but heaven forbid I get BORED watching The Eternal Love!
-The side couples were fun, but they did absolutely nothing to move the plot along. The whole Yun Xiu storyline literally amounted to nothing. It was just a filler for screen time.
-For some reason, I had a hard time believing the whole "matriarchy" set up. I think it could've done with more "world-building," or showing us more examples of the matriarchy and the different world they lived in. That's something TROTAR did really well.
-The pacing was just strange. Things got so much better when Mo Lian Cheng recovered his memories.

Overall, I feel satisfied with this drama. I'm not sure I'll go back and watch it again. The storyline and characters feel tired and watered-down at this point. I love this series, but it's time everyone moved on to other projects.
