The Romance of Tiger and Rose

So Good!
Looking to escape into a drama that will make you laugh a lot but maybe cry a little but leave feeling happy? There aren't many dramas where the ending leaves me smiling and feeling ridiculously happy and satisfied, but this one did. The Romance of Tiger and Rose is a new favorite. With how it kept me laughing while needing to know what was going to happen, it was one I couldn't stop watching. It was a bit longer than needed. Yes, it's short for a C-Drama at 24 episodes, but I felt like it could have done better with a little less of the very dramatic last 8 or so episodes. And poor Ding Yu Xi did a fantastic job acting, but the makeup (or lack of) was jarring after seeing him in other roles. Still, there wasn't much about this drama that I didn't like. It was just soooo good!

Started amazing but slowed
I thought this one was going to be a 10/10, it started so strong and was so fun. But it petered out toward the end and got really slow. Then, while the ending was nice, it had too many plot holes. It was still a really good drama, and I'll probably give it another shot someday, but I had trouble finishing it the first time through, which is sad because it was seriously shaping up to be a favorite the first half or so.Cet avis était-il utile?
Did not age well
I was hoping for more Princess Diaries, lighthearted and fun. This is not. It has a cute ending, and the first few episodes were great, but the rest of the series had me tearing my hair out in frustration. So many tropes that I hate: lack of communication being a main cause of most of their problems, toxic relationships, ML always talking down to FL, etc. That said, it does have some of the better acted kisses in a K-drama. Yowza!Cet avis était-il utile?

Be sure to watch the bonus ending!
After about tearing my heart out the first few episodes, I finally got to love this fantasy. There are some absolutely beautiful parts, characters are interesting, and the lore is fascinating (and some of us will be very happy to see a briefly shirtless Dylan Wang!) BUT, if you're like me and get upset easily over tragic situations, hang in there. This love story happens over multiple lifetimes, and things aren't always happy. The ending is a bit ambiguous, but the Special (episode 37) is on YouTube (even though it's just a brief scene). If you really pay attention to what's said near the end of the last episode (or turn to Reddit like I did), you can infer what happens, and it IS a happy ending.

One of the best!
I needed this one to heal from the trauma of the first series. After rewatching it, this is one of my all-time favorites. The romance is super swoonworthy, and the characters are some of my favorites. There aren't many dramas that have such a sweet, satisfying ending , but this makes you cry happy tear and walk away smiling.Cet avis était-il utile?
A Classic That Must Be Seen At Least Once
First, and probably most importantly, the tracksuits! 🤣Even considering how some things haven't aged as well, this would have been an absolutely amazing drama if the ML wasn't such a jerk. It's a huge turn off, and I don't blame anyone who couldn't muddle through and gave up on it. It's one thing to have a character arc where they learn to not be so awful, but the abusive behavior went on so long that it undercut the relationship development and romance.
That said, the story is great, beautifully written, and the ending is especially sweet. I can see why it's considered a must-see classic by so many hardcore drama enthusiasts. I would love to see a remake of this that cuts out a bit of the the unnecessary stuff and showcases this magical story.

Not up to the hype
It wasn't as good as I've heard, but it wasn't terrible. I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn't just watched a show with a similar story (My Girlfriend is an Alien). Though the tones were very different, I enjoyed watching the other one a lot more. Maybe because I needed a (mostly) lighthearted comedy. This one seemed overly dramatic and too drawn out for my liking. The standard 16 episodes would have been enough.Cet avis était-il utile?
Worth watching once
Pretty good, but the last few episodes were overly dramatic and boring. I was hoping for more, but it wasn't terrible. I think the biggest connection I had with it was over the temperature intolerance that the human popsicles suffered from (because it's something I also have to deal with). There were some interesting points that I wish they'd explored more. It was like they couldn't decide what genre the story was.Cet avis était-il utile?

Adorable!
Adorable! Fun and cute with some drama but not overly serious (even though it did make me cry a little). The cast is great, but the turtle is the best character!Cet avis était-il utile?
Will watch again!
This is a cute one! A great mix of comedy, romance, magic, mystery, and action. Lee Jung Eun is amazing and had me laughing so hard but crying other times! There are good character arcs, and the barriers to their romance are believable and not just the tired tropes. I loved the ending!Cet avis était-il utile?
Cute
Cute and overall pretty good. There were some things that bothered me (like him trying to change her personal beliefs), but the adorable characters and solid cast (Lee Soo Hyuk) made up for it.Cet avis était-il utile?

Could have been good....
It had some really funny parts and some good world builing, but just tapered off into meh by the end. Sad. It could have been really good.Cet avis était-il utile?

The Funniest!
The funniest drama I have ever seen! Quirky, cute, and fun. Just about everything in this show is perfect, from the cast to the humor. Even the music is great!Cet avis était-il utile?

Good but needed to be shorter
Pretty much The Fugitive but in the Josen Era. If it was 10 episodes instead of 20, this would have been a pretty solid show, especially with such a great cast (and by that I so mean more than just Lee Don Wook, even though you know he's my favorite), but it was too long and drawn out. Even so, it was fun to watch (when I wasn't wanting to scream at the repetitive plot or cringing at all the talk about poop).Cet avis était-il utile?
