It was only meh

Not sure why this drama was rated so high as I only found it ok at best. The storylines could have been developed better. For example, the story of the male lead and his mother went no where and the back story of the male lead Qin Shen and Ling Wei and Jia Si Cheng was not really developed well either. I still have no idea why Ling Wei loved the male lead so much after 1 encounter in high school? And what really happened between her and Si Cheng????

I also thought the chemistry between the 2 leads were lacking a bit. I normally look forward to the first kiss between the leads but this one was uncomfortable for me to watch. I felt like the male lead completely forced himself on her and became very controlling after they started dating and treated the female lead like his property on occasion.

I also don’t really understand how the premise of the story is supposed to be about two people who will “probably be single for the rest of their lives”. At the beginning of the story I can certainly see how that relates to the male lead but I do not see how that would be described of the female lead at all. She seems to be cute and popular with both boys and girls. The second male lead liked her quickly enough. Why would she be a Professional Single? I was also confused as the male lead seemed to somewhat have feelings for the female lead from episode one or was that just me? This leads to further confusion about the Profession Single theme if he already liked her from day one.
