Warriors of the Dawn

The beginning is fast, and it becomes slower before the climax. It left enough impression for me to think about the story throughout the night after watching it.
It based on real event but this movie works more on personal relationship between the characters. At the end, if you ask for historical reference movie, then this is not for you.
I, personally, like this kind of movie. It is interesting how they potrayed war in 3 points of view. The king and his courts who supposed to become frontliners but ended running away, the Prince who never knew about anything outside the palace, and the group of people who supposed to be protected but becomes the guards of borders. And when they all meet, it becomes idealism vs reality.

The story itself is light, yet deep and meaningful. It has same vibe with drama Jin, but more comical. The narration at the beginning explains this drama very well, about Japan nowadays through the eyes of samurai who lived 150 years ago.
One thing I like from this drama is the main characters are so human. They are potrayed as heroes but not exaggerated. Their passions and life values are what makes them special.
Too bad, this drama ends in 8 eps. It would be great if it has more eps.
As for the ending, it opens possibility for season 2 tho I doubt the main characters would ever go back to their time as it has stated at the beginning that they come from the past after they died.
Something worth watching at weekend with family.
Music : all OSTs are really nice, typical J-dorama ost.

Love for a Thousand More

It is not an unusual story line. Concept of love between human and demi-human can be found on many fantasy drama. What makes me keep watching is the interaction between casts and the camera work that captured all frames beautifully. I love to see Mijo's house.
The story moved in fast pace, there is no useless staring contest between leads. There were epilogue and-or prologue about Mijo's club, I would love it if they can make drama about each club members. They shared interesting stories too.
I still wait for Season 2, they closed the ending pretty nice but still spare a room for another season. So, yeah.

I have rewatched this drama for about 3 times already. I need extra commitment to finish this drama at first but it got better after 10+ episodes. The bgm is not for my ears, I need to adjust my speaker several times throughout one episode bcs it is so loud. Not to mention how the support actors are really good at screaming. As for the story, I feel like watching superhero story in historical version. Enemies come and go, our main lead is there to beat them.
I like how the main lead is potrayed as someone upright, brave, decisive and tactically smart but has soft heart and loves his people. Someone you need to become your leader nowadays. He has all the qualities to become leader, tho it is way too good to be true in reality.
Some people would find this drama is boring, especially if you love thriller. No, this drama is not for you. I, in the other hand, am not someone who like that intense feeling, I would rather find out the spoiler to the end than to withstand my curiosity. Most of this drama is about war, so don't ask for deep romance.
I love the conversation the most, no bluffing and very inspirational.

The first half is full of characters development, it starts to be more serious on second half. I like how they put funny and comical moment up front, at the beginning of each eps. The jokes are smart and not exaggerated. Tho there are many comical characters (Nobunaga, Tokugawa, etc), it is balanced by serious and brilliant characters.
If there is something that missed from this drama, it would be this drama lost track of time. For viewers who don't familiar with Sengoku period, especially about Nobunaga, it would seem like Nobunaga fought every day and ended everything in just a year. In fact, the timeline is stretched as far as 30 years.
Another thing, this drama doesn't give simple introduction to each character. So, when someone important entered the story, you have to google it up to get better references.
The ending is cliff hanging, maybe the production team wants to make Season 2 but I am not sure if it is possible in many ways since according to history, only Honnoji accident is left for Saburo. Special eps would be great to close this drama.
Rewatch? YES, maybe in 6 months.
Edit : The Movie version came out 2 years later and closed it neat and tidy.

It was hard at the beginning bcs the age gap is too much between the father and the son, but the father can keep his cool throughout the story so it becomes easier to relate to him.
This story is fresh, if not brilliant. Each ep will start funny and light, then at the end, it teaches a lot about life and relationship, esp between family members.
Note : The ending ost is my new favourite
