This is an exceptional drama! Superb wuxia with beautiful cinematography, fantastic action scenes, and great computer generated images. The drama has a solid storyline and it offers great moments that deliver a varied range of emotions. Everything is excellent about this fantasy adventure drama but what makes it exceptional is the actors. The cast performed as if every character was made solely for that specific actor, and they truly owned their characters! [Side note: The leading couple grew up together, taking care of each other and, in the process, through a fated connection, developed a pure, intense, and beautiful love.] Enjoy it!

His Moonlight (2024) is a very good romance drama with Liu Qing as Li Ze Yuan and Zhang Shan as Xu Qing Huan/ in the lead couple’s roles. It is a story of betrayal and the attempt assassination of Xu Qing Huan who, due to trying to escape a fire, hits her head and loses her memory but it’s declared dead. Time passes and Li Ze Yuan comes back from studying abroad and meets Su Jiu Ling who strikingly resembles his beloved Qing Huan. Wu Zhichun, a selfish friend who saves her life, keeps her true identity hidden while dreaming of a romantic relationship with her and the antagonists start trying to kill Su Jiu Ling (Qing Huan) all over again. While becoming involved with Ze Yuan, who strongly believes Jiu Ling is his Qing Huan, and her stepmother and stepsister’s new attempts at her life, Qing Huan is protected by Ze Yuan and Wu Zhichun as she starts to recover her past memories. Ai Ya! Huang Hou Niang Niang Lai Da Gong (2023) is a fantasy drama with a slight romance between the lead couple. The male lead Sun Yue as Huo Shao Ting | General Huo and the female lead Xu Yi Zhen as Rong Dai / Empress have good playful chemistry and some nice sensual romantic scenes. The miniseries has some editing issues and a mystery about her past to be solved but it needed more time for plot development. It becomes obvious that, at some point, the male lead has some level of past life consciousness that comes clear at the end. This drama doesn’t do justice to the main actors which did what they could but the plot is not well written. The drama intends to be more comedy and the end, although it is a happy ending, is rushed and vapid.

DON'TWASTE YOUR TIME!

Tian Cai San Bao, Gao Leng Die Di Shi Ba Zong could have been a good drama if it was not for the fact that it is incomplete; there is no ending with resolution about anything at all! Don’t waste your time! Although there is more, the following issues are unresolved:
1. The male lead didn’t trust his wife and, although he was investigating, he put her in a place without even caring since he didn’t even know she was pregnant- no rectification
2. The male lead is not aware that he has 3 children.
3. Son Tang, the antagonist, is ousted by one of the children (computer genius) and she’s taken away- no know whereabouts.
4. The final outcome on a bone marrow donor for the sick child is not resolve.
5. There’s a guy waiting to start a business battle with the male lead (he likes the FL and wants to take revenge for her.

The Killing Romance (2023) is a great miniseries set in historical times with a fantasy element and a cast that did very well bringing their characters to life. The drama, even though it has a main antagonist pulling the strings from within the palace walls, center on the lead couple. Ma Hao Dong as Wu Ji / Fa Wu Wei and Zizi Xu as Tang Xiao Lu / Li Zi Yi are a force to be reckoned with; from their strong martial arts to their beautiful and steadfast loving relationship, always having each other’s back. The drama has good and well choreographed action scenes, beautiful costumes, and a nice OST. Overall, the drama is very entertainment, enjoy it! PS: The half rating point taken away from a total of 10 points is because the romantic scenes could have been done better! Still, the romance storyline is great!

Li Shao Qing Fang Shou (2023) is a supposed romance drama that falls more into the category of a male lead that constantly plots for the cruelest revenge against the leading lady while still being in love (obsessed) with her, and a leading lady that, no matter how terribly she’s being treated, has never stopped loving her husband. Of course, this type of dysfunctional relationship and mistreatment is all due to antagonists trapping the leading male into believing their lies and, once the truth is revealed, everything is glossed over by the leadings man’s remorsefulness and impudent (overly cute) attitude to win her over again. This physically and emotionally heavy plot is not suitable for a short drama since the bitter flavor of the brutal relationship doesn’t have enough time to be sweetened to leave the viewer feeling the redemption storyline and feel happy and satisfied at the end.

This drama could’ve been a well done drama if it was not from the fact that the female lead Ming Yue (played by Bai Yan) spent too much time been drugged, kidnapped, and carried by the male lead and others; and the male lead Li Chuan Yuan (played by Lu Shan Dong) was always there in the nick of time to save the day! There is a nice chemistry between the leading couple and the drama has a nice happy ending. The drama is a miniseries so the plot seemed choppy and there were too many characters trying hurt the Ming Yue. There is also a good amount of frenzied characters and over the top crazy female characters. Overall, although this review is seemingly negative, the drama is not too bad but, one cannot help to feel dumbfounded at the amount of kidnappings, slaps, and being carried up for the female lead.

This is a nice drama with a heartwarming romance that starts as strangers meeting by circumstances, marriage of convenience, pregnancy, a lot of lunatics putting the female lead on harms way, and a very nice male lead that adores her and saves her repeatedly from the antagonists. Although the plot has a lot of ridiculous and frivolous characters, and the site that I watch the drama on has many parts without translation, the story is simple and easy to follow. It is also nice to watch the romance of the leading couple as they get to love, respect and admire each other.

This is yet another version about the female lead (FL) gets together with the male lead (ML) after her scumbag fiancé cheats on her with her sister. The ML is her fiancé’s uncle who falls in love with the FL and pursues her constantly. Even though the ML realizes her love for her later on, he’s always been protecting and caring for her. The downfall on this version is not the acting but the way the FL’s character was written and her obsessively strong feeling of responsibility for her deceased mother even when she knew that she didn’t love her fiancé and that he didn’t love her back. On top of that, no matter how much the ML did for her, it was not until the very end that she became secure enough to believe that he truly loved her. There is also the terrible and absurd behavior and actions from the ML’s father. Although the drama has a happy ending, the way the story is written for the FL makes the drama’s romance tiresome. The ML’s character was much better written and Shen Hao Nan did a good job in his performance of Lu Zhao He (ML).

Miss Unwieldy is a really nice miniseries that brings about the antics of the privileged class and how some choose to betray and hurt even their own family members for the sake of power. The leading couple both suffered injustice at the hands of family members and had to fake disabilities such as amnesia and mental defect for the leading lady and wheelchair bound mobility for the male lead. The male lead, Huo Mu Huan (played by Yu Luong) has been taking care of the female lead Su Nuan (played by Yang Mei Mei) since she became disabled and retrograde amnesia and was betrayed by her sister and was forced into married a guy that mistreated and took advantage of her. While Mu Huan was lovingly taking care of “Nan Nan”(Su Nuan), he fell in love with her, and vice versa. They join hands to take revenge on those that wronged them and had their happy ending. The main leads have a very good, heartwarming chemistry and their romantic scenes, although not many, were nicely played. Overall, this is a nice and entertaining drama to watch. Enjoy it!

Meet Yourself is a magnificently well written slice of life drama where all main and supporting characters meet, heal, grow together, and ultimately, through some sometimes funny and always heartfelt interactions, each one of them find what is truly meaningful and important in their lives and move forward in pursuit of happiness. This drama, set in a village that anyone would like to live in, has one of the most mature, realistic, and genuine romance that, although is quite slow burned, one truly enjoy every moment the main couple is together and even how earnestly they love each other when they are apart; every moment and incident in their lives is meaningful. The leading couple has a beautiful, delicate, and fascinating chemistry. The supporting characters are so well casted and did such a fantastic job bringing their characters to life that many of them had the feel of a main cast. The drama has some quite slow moments that made me stop watching and rest from it but, the drama in general is so good that it lingered in my mind until the next day. Once I started watching again, I found myself immerse in the feelings, turmoil, sadness, thoughts, and happiness of the characters and the simplistic life and beautiful sceneries of the village. Episode 16 is hilarious how his father uses all kinds of antics to stop him from getting involved in the village and episode 26 melts the heart with the leading man’s love confession. Overall, this drama provides the viewer with great insights, smart leads, interesting supporting characters, day to day interactions of the fabulous village people, and the great performance of actress Wu Yan Shu, seasoned actress of theater, film and television, as the sassy, smart, innocently conniving, and very interesting Granny Xie. Enjoy it!
