So I put the spoiler tag. To make it short: The series is well done. From the very beginning it's obvious that this is really good. Good actors, good script, good dialogues, good production. Still it took me 2 episodes to get hooked, but then I was REALLY hooked. It got better and better - until the last two episodes which I didn't like at all. So my issues with the series: The character were not likable and the plot became strange at the end. Gyu-Ri was so sassy and cool, wasn't she? The girl messed up everything. If you think about it, the moment she got her hands on the Ji-soo's phone sh*t happened. All the blood that was shed was because of a new client she scouted. She didn't do it on purpose and it really looked like she was in love with Ji-soo and she later proved how far she was willing to go to save him, but still. The girl messed up EVERYTHING. I was constantly thinking *Just let the man do his business*. But the man became a wimp later on. The only character I was rooting for was Mr. Lee. And then he died. And then he didn't. And I'm not a fan of that kind of plot where a characters comes back just to die again. I liked Min Hee mostly because she was friends with Mr. Lee. But otherwise she was not very likable either. The main character had a very questionable personality to begin with. I mean, if you do that kind of business you sure are shady! But he proved that he was willing to risk his life to save Min Hee (he tried to hold back the bad guys so she and Mr. Lee could escape), just to let her die an episode later. It just made no sense. I don't know if you can call that "character development" or bad writing. The end felt strange to me. Like it was the end of a season and not the end of a series. I enjoy an open end if it's well done, but here it makes no sense. We don't know if Min Hee will live, die or survive with brain damage, we don't know if Ji-soo survived or not, we don't even know if Mr. Lee survived. The police officer never said clearly that he was dead. Everything was resolved more or less, but we don't know what happened to the characters. That was left completely open. So yeah, objectively speaking this series was very well done, very suspenseful (I had to hold my breath several times and binge-watched it in 2 days), but subjectively speaking I don't like the end, I don't like the characters, and I was in general very disappointed. So I'm conflicted about the rating. It's too good to rate it lower than 9, but I wished for a different end. I wished for the main character to die, honestly. I didn't hate him, but I thought his death would have been a better closure. I saw rumors about a season 2, so the end would make more sense considering there will be a continuation. Still I wonder how this season will look like. Ji-soo and Gyu-Ri have to flee, leave the country maybe, will we see new characters and a completely new story? Nothing is confirmed at this point, so well, whatever. Cet avis était-il utile?

Because This is My First Life

Lee Min Ki did a good job too. I didn't know him before, but he is very charismatic. I just hope he will eat something, because the actor was underweight in the series and looked really sick. I don't know if he had to lose weight for a different role, but it was horrifying.
Enough about the leads. The love story is touching and beautiful. But what I really appreciate about this drama was the message behind it. This was about the question what you do with your life and of course you make mistakes and are clueless, "because this is your first life". Marriage is something that is changing your life completely. Will you marry or not? Is it better to be alone or not? How will the environment react? Will you lose your friends, because you don't fit in anymore when you're not married? Or will you gain completely new friends? What I really appreciated how the mother was so desperate when she heard her daughter would marry. She wanted a different life for her. It was obvious that being married means (for a woman) to give up her dreams. Even though the end wasn't surprising (this is a Korean romance drama after all), I just loved how they showed us so many different ways how people find happiness and love. I really enjoyed the side couples so much. At the very end I was more interested in their story.
As a single woman in my 30s who doesn't plan to marry and have kids, I must say this was extremely enjoyable, smart and in a way comforting.
The acting, the storytelling, the production - it was great.

Make It Right: The Series

The story itself is weak. The boys lack personality. There are some background stories going on but even after watching two seasons I don't know much about the characters. It's only cute boys being in love and having some never ending problems. What surprised me the most (maybe it's the fault of the translation), but they did some soft and very cute kisses (my heart skipped a beat), it looks all innocent and beautiful and the actors are pretty young too. But then they talk about sex in a way ... I don't know. I somehow coudn't imagine this young boys "doing it" with each other. And it's better I ddin't imagine it! It just felt a bit out of place for me. Not so much for other couples, but Tee and Fuse ... it was strange.
Overall this series made some butterflies in my stomach flying around like crazy and that doesn't happen often. So I have to give it a good rating. I'm pretty sure I will not watch such boys love series in the future ever again. I really liked it somehow, but I know I'm too old for this.

I was looking forward to this kind of series. A kidnapping/crime/action series with romance. That's how it was advertised. Watch both trailers, if you don't believe me.
I have seen Ohm many times, but his best performance sure was in Bad Buddy, where - with Nanon - his acting reached new heights. While Bad Buddy was just a cute romance series, it was very well-made, had great music, beautiful (emotional) scenes. It became repetitive and the "commercial art" got out of hand, but it was good. Very good.
Now I expected this series to be similar good. A big hit. Why not? Leng is beautiful, the couple works well together, which isn't surprising since Ohm is known for having chemistry with everyone. But what did we get?
The writing is wattpad-style, as if it was written by a 15 years old. You feel the writer is inexperienced (not only in writing, also in life). Almost every scene is written in such an immature way, that you know the writer didn't think it through. Why, though? Who is working on this? Why didn't they make some slight changes to the script? Why are they putting out such a cheap product? Even the cinematography looks cheap, it looks like they tried to keep the budget low. Again: Why? Did they have no trust in this series becoming a big hit? Does this have to do something with the Ohm-Nanon drama? (I don't know the details).
To be precise: The kidnapping plot is not believable, at least not in the way it was presented. Min as a character is too simple, just the good guy who did something bad to be able to pay the medical bills of his brother. He likes Q, which is pretty obvious. This is too fast. Just give us some time, show us how they fall in love. We got some lovey-dovey moments already in episodes 2 (talking about being someone's type). No build-up. None. No character development. None. Who wants to watch this? Girls and boys who enjoy watching cute boys being cute and in love. Girls and boys who don't want deep stories, good characters, complex plots. Those people are most likely the target audience of GMMTV, so yeah, why bother to try harder, when there are people who will scream when those two come closer, lips almost touching, a soft smile, a longing stare. Who needs good characters and plot development? "But that's not true!" - they will tell you, and try to explain the non-existent depths of this badly thought-out plot.
It's disappointing, to say the least.

The vaccine propaganda was the final nail in the coffin. The HPV vaccine is one of the most dangerous after the Covid vaccine. That people STILL have no clue ... unbelievable. I saw a young girl's life destroyed because of that vaccine. So before someone is coming for me, maybe you look into it yourself. And don't go to the CDC for information. Pharma is corrupt. Now they want to make more money and advise this vaccine to guys too! You can't make this shit up! The greed knows no limit.
Back to the series: very charismatic actors, very good acting, nice humor, nice OST. But the series is trash. A guy who had plenty of sex in his life, but still didn't kiss anyone? This is a fantasy, only done to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats waiting for the big kiss.
I'm not doing that.
If you think MSP was bad, where we were teased with the kiss, god knows on how many occasions, to the point where it felt like one character didn't want to kiss, then think again. This is worse.
I feel offended in many ways watching this series.
I'm not that thirsty and not that stupid. They should just make those guys kiss and get over it.
I will wait for a real mature series where those two act, and not this kindergarten story. And if someone thinks I'm only interested in sex and kisses - please! This old accusation again? I'm not interested in watching those dumb scenes (will they, won't they kiss!). That's all! SUCH A DAMN WASTE OF MY TIME!
Not wasting anymore of it, that's for sure.
