Shen ye loves aranya with a love that only when felt is totally understood. Thats why after everything happened... He even said that it didnt matter if she hated him or loved him or even if they had a relationship at all, the only thing he wanted was to be on the same earth as her, all he wanted was to share a lifetime, it didn't matter if it was together or not, all he wanted was to be alive with her. Knowing that she is somewhere in his world, even if hes not part of her world, she is a part of his, because she exists, she isn't nothing, she is something.
And then when he finally realized the painful truth he was unable to accept it, it had been so long since he had given her his all, it was too late to give up, because there was nothing else to live with.
