I never write summaries and so the fact that I did for this series should tell you how much it has affected me. I have never seen a drama that has made quite an impact on me as this one has. The series is based of the true story of Aya Kito and boy is it a heart-breaking one. Aya's story has left me incredibly grateful of the fact that I can speak, read, write and walk without trouble as she suffered through the loss of the life she knew. I started watching this show in the evening and couldn't stop watching. This resulted in me finishing the series in a night. I'll give you a warning- don't watch this if you have important events the next day. Puffy eyes never look good. All in all the series have stayed loyal to the book quite well apart from some things which have been added to make it more dramatic. It has been said before by another reviewer, but I agreed with this person immensely. I gave all tens except for the rewatch value. This is because, despite it being utterly beautiful and amazing, it is too heartbreaking for me to watch again. After watching this series I immediately went googling on where I could order the book. I was so happy that I had learned Japanese and ordered one in Aya's very own language because I always feel like translations leave out so much that it wouldn't be right to read a translation. It was a great idea. I love and cherish the book with all my heart, I reccomend doing the same.
