Hi,
I am EdgeOfTheWindow. You can call me Edge.
About me:
Introverted but can manage socializing somehow.
Love-hate relationship with humanity.
Hopeless romantic and pessimistic as hell.
Into music, reading novels, and watching dramas.
Attempts to learn languages but with very little success.
Watching Habits/Drama Preferences:
- Mostly into Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Thai dramas and movies since maybe sometime around 2015 I guess.
- Make it or break it factor: Script writing (not really the story). Followed by acting and direction.
- Very high tolerance and even appreciation for clichés and tropes done well. (They are wonderful tools for character and theme exploration in the right hands.)
- Very low tolerance for meandering script. I prefer writing where every second on screen counts.
- Don't mind sacrificing plot for fleshed out character (within certain limits though).
- I'll easily drop a series (even 5 minutes into it) and have no guilt about it. I catch the feeling early on if the type of writing would work for me or not. It has nothing to do with how good the story is.
- I don't suffer through anything long enough to hate it.
- Always grateful to series that disappoint early.
- Love over Hate. I don't like to discuss any series I didn't like or hate or at least never hold a documented public discourse over it. Personally, I believe whatever I don't like might have been someone's source of comfort and understanding. And in that case it has done what it was meant to do.
- Love critical analysis of themes and character.
- Love works that give me character or pairings to root for.
